Are the Dragon Boxes still the best release for Japan-fans?
I bought my Dragon Boxes when they came out and loved them. But as the years have gone by they seem to not hold up as well. I stayed away from the Blu-ray releases because they are incomplete for fans of the Japanese version. Also, they are not in anywhere near as nice packaging. What is the best ve...

Re: Are the Dragon Boxes still the best option for Japanese
While I love the original cast of Dragon Ball I never actually bothered to import any of the Dragon Box releases from Japan because FUNimation already had their own versions and I took them instead. Dragon Ball = Saga Sets Dragon Ball Z = Dragon Box Z Dragon Ball GT = Singles TV Specials (Z, GT) = ...

Re: Are the Dragon Boxes still the best option for Japanese
Lol what I mean is the Japanese DBoxes had a gorgeous big-ass box, a pretty lengthy fullcolor guide, an action figure, etc.

Re: Are the Dragon Boxes still the best option for Japanese
I would prefer the premium boxes in Japan instead of the singles. The sheer amount of singles would probably be more expensive to collect that the premium boxes! I have the Funimation Dragon Boxes. It caters to the Japanese fans, which is why I prefer it. Why can't Funi make a release with a...

Are the Dragon Boxes still the best option for Japanese fans
I much prefer the Japanese version, and am quite the sucker for the limited appeal of the Dragon Boxes. That being said, I am almost always in favor of higher resolution, as I think most shows benefit from it (Cardcaptor Sakura blu-ray was lightyears better than its DVD release). But I wasn't really...

Re: Will Funimation ever release other Dragon Boxes?
My dream would be the Dragon Boxes done in 1080p or 4k lol. The blu-rays may have a better resolution but I still prefer the Boxes, as I prefer the original Japanese version. Also, I still think Toei did a better frame-by-frame remastering than Funi ever did. Pony Canyon helped them

Re: Will Funimation ever release other Dragon Boxes?
I'd have paid big, especially for a release 1:1 of the Japanese edition (as in huge ass, all-in-one box)

Will Funimation ever release other Dragon Boxes?
I remember a year or more back when Funi had a survey asking which of the remaining Dragon Box DVD sets we'd like to be released next (which are the original Dragon Box, GT, and the Movies). I of course wanted the original. Now it's been a long time and no word.. did they just decided to not release...
