No, its born from the English dub when Kaio informs Goku of the Saiyans during a filler episode. Goes into their way with the Tsufuru and their meeting with the "Arcosians" which in the Japanese dub dont even have a name nor are even implied to be Freeza's race in any dub.

Yeah, I mean why was the statement added? Characters can be wrong, but usually the author is trying to point something out that is true if they don't then show that the character is mistaken. That's pretty standard story telling. If Beerus was wrong, it would just be random.

These new movies all 2 of them, are hardly ruining the franchise, GT and Evolution did that, infact these new movies are doing the opposite, they're repairing the franchise.
