Re: Best way to own or stream DBZ as originally intended
I feel you man, the Season BD's aren't too great or the most ideal releases either but if you can't get the Dragon Boxes then there really isn't much alternatives and honestly i've been quite lucky mostly through finding deals for them online with eBay and sometimes Amazon that aren't ridiculously ...

Re: Best way to own or stream DBZ as originally intended
I was in your shoes too. Hoping Kai would’ve continued 4:3. So I started a dragon box hunt. Volume 2 is by far the rarest and most expensive. It can be 300-500 on ebay depending on condition. Don't know if the mods will like me constantly updating my thoughts on which Z release to own so I apologiz...

Re: Best way to own or stream DBZ as originally intended
Update: Is this a good way to own DBZ in its original aspect ratio and quality - on a budget? Someone please answer. Dragon Ball Z: Dragon Box One (1-42) Dragon Ball Z: Dragon Box Two (43-84) Dragon Ball Z Singles (85-291) DBZ Movies and Special DVDs I figure if I can at least get the first 2 DBoxe...

Re: Do the DBZ Season Set Blu-rays use the original broadcast audio?
yeah, there's a slight remastering on them, it's not a very big difference and it still sounds far from great, but it does sound a bit better, in my opinion at least. Ajay has a pretty good and really informative video on the subject . Thanks for giving me an elaborate answer. Anyway, yeah I saw th...

Re: Do the DBZ Season Set Blu-rays use the original broadcast audio?
I went over this in the 30th Blu-ray thread, but I've decided to just go ahead and purchase the DBZ Blu-rays as they are cheaper than me searching far and wide for the singles or even the extremely expensive Dragon Boxes. I just have to accept I wasn't one of the lucky ones who was able to secure t...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
In lieu of not supporting this 30th release and having no other alternative, I've looked on YouTube to see many casual fans satisfied with their unboxed Season Set Blu-rays. Have to admit, seeing them so happy to own their favorite show kinda put me out of my funk of not being able to own Z in its p...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
Yeah, just calculated the cost of the Z singles and I'd have to pay a ridiculous amount of money to own it all in my desired collectible formats. So, Season Set Blu-rays it is. Many of the fans on this forum were old enough and lucky to get the DBoxes when they were cheap enough back in 09. I wasn't...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
So, is this the most ideal for someone who can't acquire the DBoxes? This won't be the last set. Hold out for the better set, that will come, eventually. It may not be perfect but it'll be better than this. I've been around long enough now to see the words "this is the best we're gonna get" over an...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
So, since Funimation will probably never put out the Dragon Boxes or quality like them ever again and I was too young and broke to secure any of them - Is this the best way for me to try and own the entire series in the best quality? Dragon Ball Z Kai Parts Seasons 1-4 (as early Z doesn't exist uncu...

Re: Will Toonami survive without new Dragon Ball Content?
"Will Toonami survive without new Dragon Ball Content?" Here's my question: why in god's name does anyone even CARE at this stage? Does it really matter in the age of streaming? Is there literally ANY reason why the fate of this antiquated (and grotesquely overrated and over-obsessed over) programm...

Re: Best way to own or stream DBZ as originally intended
You can start by getting a CRT TV with either composite or S-video (in case you live in the US) and scart RGB (in Europe) to plug the good old VHS player, because they're not broadcasting it in your desired conditions, but you might just be lucky with the tapes for sale on the internet. Did you kno...

Best way to own or stream DBZ as originally intended
4:3! With grain! No cropping! No saturation and original colors! The stuff of fairy tale dreams, I know. In all honesty, it's DBZ's 30th anniversary and Funimation is not putting out a good enough ptoduct to celebrate. Everyone on this forum knows it. Even I know it enough now thanks to AnimeAjay's ...

Re: Nostalgia for the so-called dark ages of DB
You mainly miss being a kid. Almost everybody does, it's cool. I guess you could call it that, but that's not exactly the point I'm making. Of course, I do miss my childhood to adolescence days of being a DB fan because I do associate them with such fond memories in my life. Still, my point goes be...

Re: Nostalgia for the so-called dark ages of DB
I agree, most importantly was looking forward to every new Hironobu Kageyama opening in the yearly games. Never been disappointed  Also we got some gems too, such as Dragon Ball Origins 1-2 or Ultimate Butouden for Nintendo DS. Oh and also I was playing DB Online back then, which was fun t...

Nostalgia for the so-called dark ages of DB
Let me start this by saying I was born in 1997, which makes me 22 years old as of this posting. That being said, I never grew up during the heyday of DB. At least, not exactly. My experience from DB comes from my older cousin introducing it to me along with my grandmother getting me and my brother D...

Re: I'm done with the dub UPDATE
Facts. If you’re gonna to switch to the sub do it because it’s the purest accessible form of the show and has way better acting not because they fired some creepy asshole To be fair, I think his decision is more due to there being drama period . Doesn't care if it's justified drama, he still gets a...
