Tossing the stereotypical "Piccolo's the better father" bit out. Who actually is better?

IMO, at this point in DBS, it's feels like Gohan has a much stronger relationship with Piccolo than his own father. The father-son bit was slowly losing after the Cell Games in his father's absence.

I mean, in RoF, although Vegeta was stronger when Frieza was weakened. Earth's destruction killed Vegeta, but not Frieza. And somebody noted that Vegeta died because he couldn't survive in ...
