Re: Better Sound Quality for Original DBZ?
Indeed. A huge amount of TV from before about 1995 was all in mono, and sounds fine. Hell, all the old Warner Bros. cartoons are in mono, yet they sound great. Mono in itself isn't a problem, the only thing added by stereo is the illusion that sound moves from side to side. If you're wearing headpho...

Re: Things that grind your gears
"Frost Demon" is better than "Freeza's Race", so I guess we have things better than the Star Wars fandom do for "Yoda's Race". Having said that, I personally don't think about Freeza's people much, because when I think seriously about it, I start to wonder why the only ...

Re: Dragonball vs Dragon Ball (space or no space?)
The original Tankōbon cover splits "Dragon" and "Ball" into two line, thus implying two separate words. The original Dragon Ball intro , and Z's intro also do this, but go as far as to even colour the two lines differently. Super's logo doesn't split them into separate lines, bu...

Re: Things that grind your gears
But, seriously there's nothing left in this thread anymore. It's the same thing over and over again. Nothing but negativity and its not even anything new, just the same. Challenge accepted. The constant calling for a timeskip in Super. Yes, I'd like to see more post-Z content, but we still have a g...

Re: Guess the Next Poster's Favorite Character V2
She's okay. When she initially appeared during the Great Saiyaman stuff, she was actually really cool and interesting; an intelligent, strong fighter raised by the weakling Mr. Satan. Her seriousness provided a rather excellent counterpoint to the silliness of Saiyaman, and her scepticism while Goha...

People nitpicking about the Ocean dub naming scheme. Specifically, saying that the Westwood era was a completely different dub which had nothing to do with the original Ocean dub, and the only similarity is that they just so happened to use the same voice actors. Not only is this a nitpick at best,...

Re: The Reintroduction of Master Roshi.
I want to be surprised and entertained! He's a wonderfully deep character, and there's a lot that can be done with him in this kind of situation. Here's hoping...! Agreed. Growing up, Roshi was always a favourite; he could be funny and silly(Jackie Chun, accidentally destroying an entire mountain, ...

10. The Pioneer movie trilogy will be announced for a collector's edition Blu-Ray release That's in my top 5 best Dragon Ball things that will never happen, along with a DVD release of the Westwood dub, Ocean Kai finally airing, Funimation doing an actually good release of the three original Dragon...

Re: Kanzenshuu Members Favorite Series. FINAL ROUND!
Dragon Ball. I like all the Dragon Ball series, but the original will always hold a special place in my heart. Plus, it's much easier to watch DB. Z is so stuffed with filler and other padding, there's a lot of time in the Saiyan and Freeza sagas that just drag. Meanwhile, while the Red Ribbon arc d...

Re: Guess the Next Poster's Favorite Character V2
Monaka's pretty cool, but most of the cool stuff about him doesn't come from his character, it comes from everyone else bending over backwards to make Goku think Monaka's strong. On his own, Monaka's just okay. How about a filler character... Ban'nō Kapuseru Robotto C 6-gō (AKA: C-6, Mr. Robot, or U...

Re: 2017 Dragon Ball Predictions
Super will start to slowly work its way into consistency, not only with the Peaceful World mini-arc, but also with GT. It will mostly amount to handwaves and asspulls, and fans will get very cross about it. A new anime based on Dragon Ball Heroes will be announced. Toyotaro will be involved, but To...

Re: How would you rewrite the Buu saga?
If I'm honest? -Not have Krillin and Piccolo turn to stone(so we can have the next part); -Keep Dabura around for longer making him a temporary ally for the gang. -Majin Vegeta Vs. Goku continues as it did, reviving Buu and Vegeta suiciding in an attempt to undo his massive screw up. -Goten probabl...

Re: What type of alignment do you think represent the characters? (2nd vers.)
Goku - Neutral-Good. Goku fights for what is right, and will do anything to protect his friends and his home. But, he very much lives on his idea of good. And that involves fighting. Lots and lots of fighting. And while he tries his best, he really isn't the best father, husband, friend, or grandfat...

Does anyone know what happened with this video ? The video's in widescreen format and in HD with the English dub. I thought the English dub of Kai was never shown in 16x9? I'm also curious as to why the Oozaru effect had been added to Gohan's scream. I've never heard or seen this before. The widesc...

Re: Forms that should have never been created
Super Saiyan Blue. Wait, let me explain! First off, SS1 and 2 were large parts of the story arcs they were introduced in, and both have their place in there. SS3 felt a little unnecessary in a way, but it shortening Goku's time due to its power drain, it meaning Goku was holding back in his fight ag...

Probably. I'm guessing they're trying to get the fact it's Shin and Kibito across more.OmegaRockman wrote:Did anyone notice that Kibitoshin sounds a bit deeper than usual? Maybe it's something they did in Kai that they're carrying over to Super?
In any case, those promos do look cool.

Re: Dragon Ball Super done in the 90's style?
Super's digital animation makes it look very clean and precise, which a lot of people -- myself included -- aren't a fan of. IMO, DB, Z, and GT's rougher, more textured animation had more personality to it. Super is also more prone to poor animation than DB or Z was.
Also nostalgia.

Re: Kanzenshuu Members Favorite Series.
Dragon Ball vs Dragon Ball Kai: The Final Chapters Dragon Ball, no contest. Boo Kai was a little disappointing compared to Kai, and although it is better than the Z version of its portion of the story, Dragon Ball is still better IMO. Nostalgia is a part of it, but so is the fun, adventurous atmosp...

Re: DB should never have been on a kids channel?
I've always thought the BLT/Ocean dub of Dragon Ball would have worked super well as a prime-time kids' show. BLT adapted the show really well, with good voice acting, reasonably accurate dialogue, and not too intrusive censorship, and in my opinion, that version of the show not being given the chan...

Here's a comparison between the Single and Dragon Box for when Goku's just arrived on Namek, and is fighting Burter and Jeice.
