Re: The hills we choose to die on and the fights we battle for when it comes to Dragon Ball

I meant that if its successful enough it can be both evergreen (As in enduring success) AND have an actual ending. The term evergreen franchise was used as early as Kai. I don't know if it's the right term but I've heard it used in relation to franchises that go on and on without ending. Regardless...

Re: How would you have handled GT?

I would have kept the first two arcs roughly the same. Except the wish of Porunga made Goku his normal size again. If Porunga could do that they would've done that in series already. They side stepped it by saying it would put a strain on his body. Or something close to that. I think they just said...

Re: How would you have handled GT?

I would have kept the first two arcs roughly the same. Except the wish of Porunga made Goku his normal size again. Super 17 I would do a hard rewrite, I am not sure how I wuld do that but I would beef up Uub's role as he would give 17 more of a fight. As for the Shadow Dragons i would do a few one o...

The Unofficial Chinese spinoff

So I have been watching Mondocool's videos on Zeroverse and it was a chinese unofficial sequal to the series. Also from what I gathered from Marb's DBGT and Zeroverse cleanup projects, was it just those two comics in the magazine? Was there anything else of note in it? Any other fan made manga? What ...

Re: Is it fair to say that Dragon Ball is no longer marketed to kids in North America?

I feel 2013 was the last year it was truly marketed to kids. It left both Nick and CW kids Vortex thing around that time. It was back on CN/Adult Swim the following year. Showing the Kai series unaltered which was nice not to see the monstrosity of Blue Popo any more.

The Garlic Jr. arc might have reinforced the Kami/Piccolo connection but it didn't set it up. This fact had long since been established, and constantly reinforced.
True enough, I wasn't sure how to word it. Reinforce is a good term to use for that.

Re: Yet another filler thread

Here is how some of my favorite filler ended up helping out the over all story. 1. The 5 episodes between the RR arc and the 22nd Tournament, I think is delightful. It helps expand the DB world be Goku traveling and helping others. I really like his Fox friend he made. I wish he would come back for ...

Didn't Trunks originally say the cyborgs that would destroy the world were 19 & 20, not 17 & 18?
Yeah even Viz kept that translation in.

Now that I think about it, is this Chautzu's(I suck spelling his name) first seen win in manga form? Anime wise it was against Guldo.

Personally I don't mind the monthly schedule. It gives it a bit more hype the closer to the 20th each time for me.

Re: I've been thinking and honestly One Piece seems superior to Dragon Ball?

One Piece is my 2nd favorite manga series behind Dragon Ball. Sure it is long but it adds to the overall epic adventure this series is trying to convey. Even at it's worst chapters, I still find joy which is the same I can not say for other shonen series like Naruto or Bleach. When they have bad cha...

Re: Does Dragon Ball Super need an anthology saga?

Series like Attack on Titan and Naruto have spin off manga series, I'm surprise Dragonball hasn't had more outside of Jaco and the Yamcha oneshot volumes.

Re: If You Could Rewrite the Dragon Ball Manga, How Would You Do It?

There is only two things I would rewrite for this series. 1. Make Yamcha less of a Jobber. I think he gets the short end of the stick as the series went on. For example, instead of him losing to Mummy, maybe a tie. Goku takes on Devil next but it shows Yamcha was able to take down Mummy but not with...

The only media I haven't consumed is probably a good chunk of videogames and I have caught much up on SDBH. Last episode I watched was 10 I beleive.

Personally I am more interested on how the Space Trade organizing works. Freeza is supposed to be a dealer, I kind of want to see him doing some business with the planets he's conquers and sells. Who does he sell them too?

I am happy that it has happened, it gave DB a breath of new life. Has all of it been perfect? Far from it, but I think we got some good out of it. Battle of Gods movie, Goku Black, Jaco, expanded universes, etc.

A couple or one sided romance?

Ever since the tournament of power ended, one of the common things I would hear if that Caulifla and Kale are a couple. Personally, I don't see it. I do see a one sided longing from Kale and Caulifla seems to treat Kale as more of a best friend or sister then a lover.

What are your guys thoughts?

Re: Did the Orange Brick 2007 (partial) redub feel pointless overall?

The only thing that bugged me about the redub is that Sean didn't redub Goku. Sabat did fine keeping on continuity from the redub of season 1 and 2. However when Sean's delivery clashes with the redubs. From what I hear he wanted use it to show howhas improved but it's a bit jarring. It's especiall...

Re: DBZ Got Lucky...

I would say DBZ did have competition, at least on the US front. After all, the other biggest properties in the late 90s was Pokemon, Sailor Moon and Digimon. If anything DBZ was still 2nd to Pokemon, at least from I observed back then.
