Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

Simple fix to accommodate both sides: the manga's version of Ultra Instinct Sign and Super Saiyan Blue Evolution are now equal in raw power, but UI Sign is unstable and cannot maintain that power while SSBE can. UI Sign has better speed and reflexes, SSBE has better stamina and energy control. UI Si...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

What makes everything muddy is what the gaps are between all the different forms in the manga, and if there's ever been enough jumps in power to bridge or surpass previous gaps. For example, is Ultra Instinct Sign now good enough to compete with the silver completion of Ultra Instinct? Is the silver...

Re: Who is worthy to lift Thor's hammer Mjolnir?

Future Trunks is the clearest and most obvious choice. Dude is one of the most noble people in the entire franchise who is always altruistic and determined to save people, but he's also a warrior who fights to the death with everything he's got. He doesn't have Gohan's reluctance to train and fight,...

Re: Perfect Ultra Instinct: Skinny vs. Swole?

Goku is a BUFF guy. Not overly so, but he is quite swole. I like it when his various forms maintain that. Part of why he looks buff in Ultra Instinct currently is because more of his musculature shows through due to the circumstances of battle reducing how much of his shirt he has, and he's a very w...

Also, anyone wondering why Krillin is wearing one of her brother's shirts? What do those crazy kids get up to?

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

As far as enemies fought go, I always felt it was better to just lump the 3 latest ones in the same general level much like all the Gods of Destruction. Basically, base Jiren, Super Saiyan Full-Power Broly, and 7-3 Moro are all equal. And then rank the powers beyond this as on the same general level...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

This is one of the rules of their test fight, but it doesn’t mean Beerus showed everything he got. It wasn't a test fight? Perhaps technically due to it being meant as a reference for a tournament, but the GoDs were very much told to fight to the death on the order of the Omni-King. It only stopped...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

But then how would that explain Super Saiyan Broly and Gogeta going at it relatively evenly despite Gogeta's base form performing similarly to SSB Goku and Vegeta individually, if not better? He was able to outpace and dodge/deflect blasts a whole lot better than them; he only didn't go on the offe...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

Golden Frieza's punches were able to dull Broly's movements a bit if landed properly, and if he were to throw blows with all of his might, Broly would go for avoiding them. However, that was all he could do. Doesn't this kinda imply Broly isn't dozens of times stronger than Freeza? Maybe Ikari and ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

It's really the anime that puts things into question, as it constantly emphasizes that Jiren is at or above the level of God of Destruction and has Whis as a supporter. And seeing as how he's one of the most knowledgeable characters in the entire franchise, it's easy to see why people will argue for...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

Wasn't the prophecy also about Beerus and the Super Saiyan God being his rival? Pretty sure he named off the Super Saiyan God and threatened the Oracle Fish about that being what he meant. And it's not like the series doesn't entirely forget things from before. Creator of the scouters? Used to be a ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

Wasn't the dream mainly due to Yamoshi's spirit being sensed by Beerus and the Oracle Fish? And having to do with the Super Saiyan God a.k.a. the form that was surpassed ages ago by Super Saiyan Blue?

This "prophesized rival" thing barely applied even back then.

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

The anime and manga are relatively in agreement on Daishinkan's position as the strongest of all. The manga outright states it, and the anime lumps him in with 4 others but otherwise holds to the idea of him being one of the strongest around as an actual fighter. With both put together, there are 5 ...

Re: Why don't vegeta and goku wish for eternal youth?

Still, they never really use Dragon Balls for wishes for themselves, and they only undertake training techniques and methods. Eternal youth isn't necessary; they don't seem to want to live forever, they just want to train as hard as they can and become as strong as possible. But eternal youth does ...

Re: Deploy the Headcanon!

So, theory on how canon Broly's Great Ape power may apply to Saiyans across the board. It's a theory I've shared before around here, one that I wholeheartedly believe in hence why it's my current headcanon. The source of rage boosts, pride boosts, etc., within forms that have already been attained t...

Re: Would it have been better for Vegeta if he just, like, died forever...?

Maybe a long time ago, but that ship has since set sail and is now too important to let die. Vegeta is integral to the core of modern DB now. He's Goku's consistent rival and friend nowadays, now the second strongest of the characters from the original run. He provides a different but similar take t...

Re: Why don't vegeta and goku wish for eternal youth?

As others have pointed out, these 2 are pure-blooded Saiyans and as stubborn as they come. They don't like outside help in achieving greater heights whenever possible, and they don't like making wishes that makes their training easier; they just don't like taking the easy road if circumstances don't...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

With Broly, it's either a case of "Oozaru = 10 times" straight up, or a "as strong as the plot needs the power-up to be" kinda deal. Something to bear in mind, though, is that SSG Vegeta was wrecking Broly, who had powered up to be a match for Super Saiyan, a lot more compared to when he was beating...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

Okay then, so how much stronger is that, and how does that compare to the levels of Ultra Instinct and its precursor Ultra Instinct Sign? Where are the statements/feats that show that one form has definitively reached/surpassed another? I've yet to see any actual hard points of comparison to suggest...
