Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

All the evidence suggests Ultra Instinct Goku, SSB Fusions, Moro, Jiren, Broly, Beerus, etc., are on a generally similar spectrum. The Gods of Destruction are on a similar playing field, Jiren and Broly are similarly described as being stronger than Gods of Destruction, Ultra Instinct is a technique...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

As far as Jiren is concerned, that's some major downplay I've been seeing up there. Reminder that Jiren is explicitly stronger in battle power than Belmod, who himself is in the same general level of God of Destruction as Champa, Beerus, Quitela, Sidra, etc. Broly himself has also had the "greater t...

Re: Should the Super manga and anime divert into completely different stories now?

Something else to bear in mind is that the anime and manga are different mediums with different creative teams behind each now. Toei Animation are an experienced animation studio who've done a lot of work on official production adaptations, while Toyotaro was relatively new to making a full-on offic...

Re: Ultra Instinct for other Users

Maybe the Saiyans' natural tendency and ability to transform is the reason why Ultra Instinct manifests as a black/silver-haired and silver-eyed transformation. Perhaps for other beings, there might be differences in how Ultra Instinct manifests that depends on their own abilities and species traits...

Re: Should the Super manga and anime divert into completely different stories now?

Not completely different, as in following the same outlines. But I do hope they continue to diverge in terms of how they execute and differentiate from one another when it comes to telling that general story. I don't want the anime to simply try adapting the manga, that's for sure. As much as people...

Re: Why do some have a dislike of the climax of the Zamasu/Black arc?

Ultimately, I think that the anime had everything the manga had and so much more because of what the medium affords. It has the same general levels of coherency, but the impact of the voice acting and character depth just hits so much harder in comparison to the stale and lifelessness of the manga ...

Re: Why do some have a dislike of the climax of the Zamasu/Black arc?

If the narrative can't be coherent or consistent and challenges suspension of disbelief, that undercuts any tension or emotionally compelling "moments" the show might have intended. Power scaling, rather than being some divorced concept, was actually one of Toriyama's best tools for establishing te...

Re: Why do some have a dislike of the climax of the Zamasu/Black arc?

I just love the anime's greater emotional beats and overall character writing. I LOVE the tense moments where Goku and Trunks are pushed to the brink and breaking their limits, showing that against all odds, these 2 have the greatest wills and ability to push themselves out of everyone. And you gott...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

Yeah sure, Uub has that kind of power hidden away. Emphasis on HIDDEN. He doesn't know how to actually use it, it's just potential being drawn out in this moment that shows that, if properly utilized, would eclipse even Vegeta. He's not actually that powerful..... yet. He has the potential to be tha...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

If it takes SSB Fusion to match up to or surpass the level of God of Destruction, and the completed Ultra Instinct can match up to or surpass the level of God of Destruction, then the 2 are at the very minimum competitive with one another. This is supported by other DB media placing the 2 on a simil...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

I said it before, but I'll say it again: we need a concrete statement or feat that clearly and obviously makes clear where Beerus stands compared to all of these latest opponents. The "maybes" and "perhaps" and general non-committal stuff is getting old. I just want the writers/authors/creators to c...

Re: Is Goku's stupidity at least partially an act?

Almost certainly not. Goku can be very smart and even manipulative at times (see his interactions with Freeza during the ToP Arc in the anime to see just how well he's learned things), but overall he's very straightforward and blunt. He doesn't see much nuance or complexity, which can lead to some v...

Re: 28 planets?

I always took this statement to mean fully inhabited worlds with races of intelligent humanoid mortals living on them.

While the number of life-filled planets is astronomically larger, it could be that planets like Earth are quite rare after everything that's happened.

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

I do gotta admit, I really hate seeing the "rematch" and "Oracle Fish prediction" arguments brought up time and time again because they're just so nonsensical to me personally. Goku's hardly ever had actual rematches with his rivals to definitively prove who was stronger; he sorta just surpasses the...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

To even properly beat a God of Destruction or someone on that level, you need to be so much stronger than a SSB so as to be ridiculous. Fusion is one way, specifically SSB multiplied by SSB. And Ultra Instinct has been consistently shown as another way. So much so that it actually TRIVIALIZES oppone...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

Also keep in mind most youtubers do it to make money off of ads. It's kinda weird knowing most of us discuss Dragonball on forums or twitter or whatever and don't make a dime out of it, yet some people make 20 minute youtube videos of every little Dragonball piece of news and they make millions out...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

In order to appease the finnicky nature of the YouTube algorithm, pretty much all content creators have to kinda clickbait; it's an inevitable part of the job nowadays given the platform. Same thing with video length; algorithm needs a certain length of time with enough watchable minutes to be consi...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

Admittedly not a great look, but then again, when assholes continue to say "uh, but ackshully!" all the time on a regular basis, it tends to grate on the nerves of someone just doing their job honestly and earnestly.
