Re: The TV Anime Series Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be broadcast on Fuji TV in the fall of 2026
How "close" can you get to the manga when it comes to BoG and RoF honestly? Both combined are like 4 chapters long
Even the Tournament of Destroyers saga isn't that different in the manga.
Where anime and manga diverge is mostly in the last 2 arcs. I think some things from the manga are ...

Re: The TV Anime Series Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be broadcast on Fuji TV in the fall of 2026
What does streamline mean? Better pacing ( bye bye Pilaf Gang filler, BOG went from 10+ episodes to 6)
Will they be toned down?
That's what I was arguing. I don't think the Pilaf Gang's mere existence is filler, but they did get a lot of filler scenes in Super. One or two of the early ...

Re: The TV Anime Series Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be broadcast on Fuji TV in the fall of 2026
This thread should temper their expectations and keep in mind that the main product remains the Galactic Prisoner, and the Galactic Survivor after that. Since these stories were written by Akira Toriyama, it's about time they were animated.

Re: The TV Anime Series Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be broadcast on Fuji TV in the fall of 2026
I think it's fair to assume that this "remaster" is not really for any of us. It's just to give a less crude-looking version of the show that might be more appealing to new viewers.
...I'll be content if it just flows decently tbh. And if it fixes the most egregiously awful shots from OG Super ...

The story of these arcs was always fine. When you go back to the old threads, you'll see that the major complaints were always about the "ugly artstyle". This remaster fixes that. The scenes in this trailer look absolutely stunning.

Re: How do you feel about the trope where everyone waits for Goku?
The characters did things in the meantime, yes.
But the story still frames itself like their success depended on Goku's return at the end of the day.

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread
Agreed. However, just throwing out facts from the manga as it seems to be more questionable than the anime about Zamas's immortality.
BTW, Beerus states his Hakai completely wipes things out of existence. Yet still says he can't kill an immortal. What's the point of being immortal if you can be ...

This:
As a writer, you want me to relate to your character, right?
And this
You want to pass on to me the message that your character is successful, strong and that he inspires others to be just like him.

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread
Manga:
Vegetto stated he would have killed Zamas. With so much power it wouldn't give him time to regenerate. Wiping every trace of him away .
Goku's low rent Hakai was disintegrating Zamas rapidly and Zamas grabbed Mai to save himself. Forcing Goku to stop.
Full power Blue Goku didn't give ...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread
I wonder if a wish from the Super Dragon Balls could do it, what do you think?
There's no way to answer this. Regardless, that's not really a technique or an ability someone can use in battle.
But it's defeating him all the same, does it matter if he can be killed?
Yeah, it doesn't matter ...

3. Zamasu (immortal, you need a way to kill him which most don't have)
Who can kill him, besides Zeno?
Beerus himself stated that Hakai cannot kill an immortal, btw.
Even Whis can't actually kill him and needs a sealing technique better than the Mafuba.
Boo can absorb him. Moro can ...

Re: Beerus featured in US White House promo video
On a side-note, this is the direct consequence of taking Dragon Ball as an apolitical, unserious work of art with terrible amoral protagonists and nothing to teach to its audience: Using its imagery as a display of dumb brute strength.
You're acting like they didn't just spam <insert a ...

Re: Where will the franchise go after Super?
That's why I still think we need EoZ with Uub, Pan, Bulla, Goten, Trunks, and maybe even Marron getting more of the spotlight.
More screentime in the final arc? Sure, why not. An entire series about them? I am not interested. These characters are nice as window-dressing but they can't carry a ...

Dragon Ball > Dragon Ball Z > Dragon Ball Daima > Battle of Gods > Resurrection of F> Dragon Ball Super from ep. 28 > Broly > Super Hero
Feels like the simplest, most obvious, and most fulfilling "viewing order".

Re: Where will the franchise go after Super?
Hopefully it will end with Super. The ending of DBZ was a perfect conclusion to the Dragon Ball world and there shouldn't be a story set after it.
Also, Goku is the heart and soul of Dragon Ball and I have absolutely NO interest in a series where Goku is sidelined for these so-called "new gen ...

All logic and evidence points out to the fact that yes, they did.
