Re: A heartwarming Super review

I have been watching his reviews for a long time, so I do value his opinions pretty highly on films. Just not on Dragon Ball. If you watch his Z review, he is a fairly casual fan that really is only concerned with the Z dub he grew up with. Which is fine, he can like what he likes. I just don't thi...

A heartwarming Super review

Super has long been a topic of controversy within the fandom. Although everyone has a right to their own opinion, it is somewhere meaningful that Chris Stuckman, one of the featured YouTube film-critics, gave Super very recently a good review. If something is really bad in his opinion, he always say...

Re: What if they made the Moro arc a movie instead?

There are some folks that think they will literary adapt the manga and Toyotaro is going to become the lead writer of the anime as well in all its detail. I honestly still have my doubts about that. The anime / anime movies still want to maintain their own continuity and create their own hypes, and ...

Yes, in a situation when they have to defend themselves against something that has enough power to threaten them.

Re: Does the fact the DBS anime is not returning make you loose intrest in DB?

Eh. Unless it's a bi yearly 20 episode a season show or something, I don't think it will be good. Would rather they just stick to movies. They're fun, always high quality, get me to the theater with friends. Super was just bad. Characters are always acting silly and weird like that special with Veg...

Re: Should Zamasu follow the tradition of DB villains teaming up with Goku?

If he comes back, i rather think it would be because he is floating in some sort of "void" in between the timelines and after some rupture in the space-time continuum, he might find his way back into visible reality somehow. The Zenos might have destroyed the timeline, but if the granting power of t...

Re: Should Zamasu follow the tradition of DB villains teaming up with Goku?

Indeed, technically speaking it could be possible. it's a rather a case of 'would it be good storystelling'? Honestly, Dragon Ball has an over-urge to bring old characters back. They don't seem to be able to give them a rest. It's more difficult to do in-depth storytelling whith so many characters ...

Re: Should Zamasu follow the tradition of DB villains teaming up with Goku?

I can’t see what contrived method they could use to bring him back. Unless they brought in a different Zamasu from a different timeline, which wouldn’t be the Zamasu we all know and thus would make no sense to have him. To be fair, the Super Dragon Balls showed that they have enough power to bring ...

Re: Should Zamasu follow the tradition of DB villains teaming up with Goku?

There are so many that have become partners of Goku at the end, but there is no need this should be everyone.
It would be a bit 'meh'.
If Zamasu returns one day, (this is not strictly needed in my opinion), i hope he stays a villain.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

Why is a cartoon more important than not talking about a stranger's death? It's not a matter of it being "more important" or not, it's simply a relevant part of this discussion. Ghoulishly talking about somebody's death is relevant to the discussion of what? Nobody of importance to the franchise br...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

I think you should know what. Same thing with Ryo Horikawa, Mayumi Tanaka, and many others. These guys aren't getting any younger. And Toei wouldn't wanna risk having another Joji Yanami situation or even another Hiromi Tsuru tragedy, now would they? So Toei, get your act together! If we would get ...

Re: If we get another home release, it needs to be in 4K "UHD"

There will always be a small profitable market for select shows and films on physical media. Just like how vinyl is sought after for the novelty and collectors market. It doesn't cost these companies much to put out these discs, and the same people who buy 4k discs now are the same people who would...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

It will be different if Toriyama says when he resigns, that he acknowledges what comes next as the official continuation. He didn't actually do that back in the days with GT. We have a very wide fanbase these days. It might get a hit when he quits. But I still think enough people would appreciate m...

Re: Does the fact the DBS anime is not returning make you loose intrest in DB?

No, I just hate waiting for more animated DB. I've been a fan sine the last 80's. My interest will never go away. Since the good old Club Dorothée-days? Me too. Oui. I didn't know you were an old-time fan that got into it with the french dub, too :) Yes, first as a kid i was only a fan of Saint Sei...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

It's surprising how DB hasn't received a revival for so long in the dark ages while so many other shows were/are getting a revival or kept receiving new content. Why couldn't new DB-movies or anime stay successful in the long term as well? That doesn't make much sense to me. I think the reception o...

Re: Does the fact the DBS anime is not returning make you loose intrest in DB?

The final hope for DBS to return in 2020 has somehow faded with the announcement of the new Digimon anime, which will air on FUJI-tv in April. What does that mean in relation with your personal commitment to the franchise? Do you guys feel less invested and intrested now there hasn't been an anime ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

Super's story will continue for sure, I just don't think there's much room for it to continue for much longer due to how fast they jumped the shark on certain things, such as UI. The power levels and threats we're getting now aren't fit for a long term plan. That's another reason why I don't think ...

Re: If we get another home release, it needs to be in 4K "UHD"

But also ... physical media are slowly dying. it REALLY isnt. Its shrinking yes, but no where near dying. its still healthier than laserdisc was in japan, and laserdisc was very much profitable there. I cant see it even doing that in the next 20 years if studios actually are serious about pushing 8...

Re: If we get another home release, it needs to be in 4K "UHD"

Now, the real blockbusters like Avengers Endgames, Star Wars etc have gotten a physical 4k-release, but there are very few anime titles to date that received one. Even Broly was standard blu-ray. It's true 4K hasn't become the norm yet. But also ... physical media are slowly dying. There aren't an a...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

Bare in mind the fanbase now is a lot larget than back in the day due to internet being involved and having an huge importance in creating hype. DB is bigger than ever, even when it gets a hit. You can't just copycat Toriyamas limited involvement in GT and paste it into todays context of popularity...
