I chalk it up to the typical notion of characters not showing overt growth in general until their mandated "aged-up look" is meant to settle in, to avoid needing to re-draw/animate characters differently over time-skips until the time is right.

I'll just say; while I like pretty much all Dragon Ball characters in their own right, Future Trunks is probably my favorite fictional character, period. His character, story, etc just hit the right note for me when I first saw his appearance on Toonami, and been a fan ever since.

So this "arc" is really just the intro all over again, but from Future Trunks POV.

Future Trunks is one of my favorite characters, in fiction in general. Its a freakin' miracle when I come across his fanfics, period. But after a literal decade (since I came across DBM), worse fillers than Garlic Jr., and a worse attention span than Super Goku, its hard to be excited at this ...
