You forgot the dub title for the last episode, which is "Goku's Alive?!"(or as I know it, the one with the infamous "Krillin's in the house!" NEP
)

Re: Preferring Team Four Star's parody over the original series baffles me
*shrug* I mean there's people that think the official English dub is watchable too. You can count me in that category, i don't think it's just watchable, I think it's legitimately good. Not perfect obviously but far from one of the worst dubs ever like some people make it out to be. I like DBZA but...

I don't dislike her by any means, I just feel like she didn't live up to her full potential.UltraInstinctRorikon wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 1:55 amShe's cute and her personality was great. Let her be more powerful and get Super Saiyan and it'd solve all my issues.
That said Pan is one of my favorites still. I love her style of fashion.

Re: GT and misogyny
Plus given how in the 90s shows with strong female characters were getting more popular, Pan definitely felt like an outdated archetype.

Re: Curse of the blood rubbie rare dub
The seller told me they wouldn't say who bought it saying "that would defeat the purpose of a private auction" so so much for that I guess.

Read up on the story of the lost tape and it's tragic, seems like the moral of the story is "never ever use FedEx" over USPS to ship something in the mail.

Re: Dragon Ball Rewatch, Week 56 - DBZ 85-89
Really the word "sexy" was too much for TV airings of Tenchi on CN? FFS i've seen an episode of Fairly Oddparents that used the word "sexy" . So they didn't fix the flashback error for the Orange Bricks? Of course they didn't, just yet another sign of them being an ill-conceived cash grab. Tha...

I'm going to be honest, I actually really liked the rewrite of Vegeta's death scene in the dub and I think it's one of the best changes that Funimation made IMO, I totally get why it bothers some but it really worked for me and I don't think they fucked it up one bit(Didn't quite have the same impac...

Just noticed you forgot to list the dub titles for episodes 91-94, they are in order: "Embodiment of Fire", "Trump Card", "Keep the Chance Alive", and "Power of the Spirit".

Re: Rankings and thoughts of the post-Kikuchi composers?
Yamamoto-plagiarism is super obvious and distracting and it sounds very unfitting in the show. Sumitomo-competent but forgettable Wasserman-pretty average, like Chris Psaros said it feels like this score only has three types of music-intense, mischievous and cheerful and it really starts to show a f...

Re: Toriyama should follow the Harry Potter movies' example and continue DB in a spin off
How we see the world influences how we make art. People with shitty ideas about the world inevitably inject those ideas into their art and then their art...just becomes really terrible. Who wants to consume art that tells you that you're going to die or that better things aren't possible? That's a ...

Re: Toriyama should follow the Harry Potter movies' example and continue DB in a spin off
That's an awful lot of compartmentalizing with Dragon Ball because that misogyny is littered throughout and the story doesn't seem to have much of a problem with genocide. It does until it doesn't because a character became so popular the author decided to keep him around and doesn't even attempt t...

Re: Toriyama should follow the Harry Potter movies' example and continue DB in a spin off
Okay, maybe I was exaggerating a little, but the Christian imagery is SO very obvious and prevalent and visible, especially at the end, that it certainly has the same tone as a lot of propaganda, but I admit it's not trying to directly influence people's beliefs on the real world in SPECIFICALLY th...

Re: Toriyama should follow the Harry Potter movies' example and continue DB in a spin off
The first few Harry Potter books are decent enough children's fantasy fare. The last couple range from really boring to Christian propaganda, complete with antisemitic goblin caricatures (well, okay, those are there from the start, but it's definitely worse in the last one). The first Fantastic Bea...
