Re: DBZ Syndication era Affiliate Promos.

Wow that's an awesome find! Any plans to upload that three-parter on the Internet Archive? Are you planning on uploading the recordings you have onto the internet archive? Nice try, boys, but I wasn't born yesterday. I say one thing about this, next thing I know this thread is locked or I have a st...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions

the five dubs of Tree of Might video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dz0P9EoZ-ZA He kept blaming Saban for things that would actually be Funimation (basically anything other than the ridiculous censorship) so that got annoying fast. I didn't really see him doing that, he was just labeling the dubs ...

Re: DBZ Syndication era Affiliate Promos.

What episodes you have? do you have the first two episodes broadcast? And what station was it recorded? Excellent questions! I don't have every syndicated episode, but I have enough to gather all of the promos, bumpers, and whatnot. And yes, I do have the first two episodes in their original form a...

Re: Dragon Ball Rewatch, Week 38 - DBZ episode 13-17 (CURRENT WEEK)

The Princess Snake episode was entertaining in it's weirdness. I can kind of see why syndication had issues with the Orphan episode, but it's interesting to see Gohan interact with other kids for a change.

I think HFIL is actually pretty amusing.

Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks

It makes me wonder how some of you older fans ever managed to cope back when VHS and DVD releases had Widescreen and Fullscreen versions available. Like, if your parents had gotten you Batman or Star Wars in Fullscreen instead of Widescreen, did you or would you have thrown a fit? No because I didn...

Re: The History of Trunks Soundtrack

The soundtrack for that film was pretty good, had no idea it had an actual CD release. I found a press release on ANN advertising it: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2001-12-14/dbz-history-of-trunks-cd-available Yeah, I have no idea what in the world is up with this CD orrrrrr Cassette? I've ...

Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks

While it'd be nice to get Dragon Box blurays at a reasonable price, I've never understood the claims that any of the DBZ remasters are "unwatchable." Sure, they aren't 1:1 representative of what you'd have seen on a TV screen in Japan back in the 90s, but having the vibrancy of the colors increased...

There's a Bang Zoom dub of ZEXAL? Wow that's the first i'm hearing of that, have any clips of it leaked online? I'm very curious to hear their take on it.

The Ultimate Uncut dub never felt “adult” just edgy teenager who hated their parents.

The replacement score doesn’t make me want to punch children in the face at least.
It was nice to see the original 53 episodes uncut finally.

Re: Does anyone else feel that much of the DB fandom enforces low standards?

Nolan also encourages people to go to theaters during a pandemic, sooooo.... I personally try to avoid public places as much as possible, so I won't be going any time soon, but I don't think there's an issue with theaters only allowing 25% of the normal capacity. With such a small number of people,...

Re: Dragon Ball Rewatch, Week 37 - DBZ episode 8-12 (CURRENT WEEK)

This is one of the stretch of episodes with filler included in Z that i really like, particularly in terms of expanding what was only briefly glimpsed at in the manga with Gohan's wilderness training. The dinosaur and robot episodes and other little scenes here and there are such great pieces that ...

No it is you who is "jumping to conclusions" here dear boy, ROS still made billions of dollars so it's hard to imagine Disney being too broken up about it, especially when the VAST majority of their revenue comes from their parks and not from their movies(their movies only make up like 16% of their...

Re: Does anyone else feel that much of the DB fandom enforces low standards?

Personally, I would like to see more fans arguing for the entering of Dragon Ball into the public domain so as to reduce the flow of profit to a small set of already grossly powerful corporations. Wouldn't that mean every studio out there could try to cash in on Dragon Ball? Fans are already free t...

Re: How different would the dub be if Funimation was still with Saban?

From what I gather, Funimation stopped working with Ocean because they were tired of the expenses of constantly having to fly all of the VAs in from Canada to record their lines(that's also why Maggie Roswell stopped appearing on The Simpsons which led to Maude getting killed off as a result). They...

Damn that really sucks to hear, I remember how crushed I was when Maddie Blaustein died as i'd grown up with her voice for almost a decade by that point, so it was like losing a part of my childhood.

Re: Which character and/or plotline in the franchise is the biggest waste of potential?

I would have to say Lunch as she barely does anything in Z and I honestly can't blame Funimation for cutting out her appearances as they have pretty much zero impact on the overall plot and just come off as Big-Lipped-Alligator-Moments. I second Videl as I remember watching some of the latter episod...
