Re: How long after his passing the words "Toriyama wrote/designed/contributed" stop being belieable?
1. The creation of Super Saiyan Blue is tied to the movie Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F', which was developed in 2014—even before Dragon Ball Super or Zamasu existed. People misinterpret Toriyama's comment, assuming he had Zamasu in mind.
Toriyama said he was the one who "had to go with Blue ...

Re: How long after his passing the words "Toriyama wrote/designed/contributed" stop being belieable?
It is very dishonest of you to try to make it look like I advocated for disregarding the original author's influence on Dragon Ball Super. That is not what I said.
You said they are "vague drafts." I disagree.
But let's look at the interviews with Toriyama himself. Not editors or third ...

Re: How long after his passing the words "Toriyama wrote/designed/contributed" stop being belieable?
It doesn't take a genius to understand that a TV series isn't built solely from a few character designs and a story summary. A narrative of this scale requires a creative team to develop, expand, and structure it throughout the production process. Akira Toriyama was more involved in Dragon Ball ...

Re: How long after his passing the words "Toriyama wrote/designed/contributed" stop being belieable?
I mean, what he did in Dragon Ball Super was write vague drafts
What about the core plot points of the Universe 6 saga, Future Trunks saga, and Tournament of Power saga is "vague"? If it was vague as you claim, then the anime and manga would have radically different storylines and endings ...

Re: How long after his passing the words "Toriyama wrote/designed/contributed" stop being belieable?
If I were to speculate on Toriyama’s influence on Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, it would simply be the fact that Bird Studio and his name are credited. It could have been a simple conversation like:
Iyoku: I want to produce a re-edited version of the Dragon Ball Super anime. Do you think that’s a ...

Re: How long after his passing the words "Toriyama wrote/designed/contributed" stop being belieable?
What I meant is that many people credit Toriyama as the screenwriter, as if he wrote the series entirely and the animators or Toyotarō only illustrated it. That's not the case.
Toriyama wrote the screenplays for all four films. But he wasn't the screenwriter for Toyotarō's 104-chapter manga, nor ...

Re: How long after his passing the words "Toriyama wrote/designed/contributed" stop being belieable?
Even when Toriyama was alive and active in Dragon Ball productions, they overvalued his influence.
I mean, what he did in Dragon Ball Super was write vague drafts and character designs for the arcs, some of them suggested by the editorial team, which would be transformed into 131 episodes written ...

You didn't understand what I said. Those scenes came later in terms of release, not production. I know they were left in the editing room.

Re: Battle of Gods script
What I find intriguing is that what's written on that page is a scene that was cut from the theatrical version and is only present in the extended version, which was first shown on Fuji TV in March 2014. However, the auction for this item ended in January 2014, two months earlier.

Re: What changes would you like to see in DBS Remake
They'll never do that because they also need to convey the image that all of this was written by Toriyama, so any changes they make can't be too blatant.

Re: Dragon Ball Genkida Matsuri 2026 on january 25th will have Dragon Ball announcements
I don't much see the point of bothering to brand something as 'pointless' given that it's going to exist for the rest of time anyway. If it's good, good. If it's bad, that sucks, maybe they'll do it better next time. Like, I think Dragon Ball Evolution and Fukkatsu no F are bad films, I don't go ...

Well, if they mess up the second attempt, they can try again in five years. After all, it's improving, isn't it? Personally, I'd stay in this endless cycle. In 2036, there will be children who didn't watch the series in 2026, so they'll make a new version for them.

Re: Dragon Ball Genkida Matsuri 2026 on january 25th will have Dragon Ball announcements
At that stage the future was in, I don't think it would be possible for a society to rebuild itself. However, this could be fixed by Goku taking the Dragon Balls from the present to the future and repairing Earth, as well as resurrecting the dead. It would be a closing of the loop for Trunks' story ...

Re: Dragon Ball live action (CRAZY IDEA)
The cast doesn't need to be entirely Asian. For example, the people of West City could be American actors. But I think it's a terrible idea to do the same with characters like MutenRoshi, Kuririn, Tenshinhan, Yamcha, Chi-Chi, and others who carry Asian influences in every aspect. From their names to ...

Re: Dragon Ball live action (CRAZY IDEA)
I reflected a lot on this idea and coincidentally decided to write drafts of what would be a Dragon Ball trilogy adapting all 194 chapters.
I made a 12-page draft of what would be the first film, which mixes the Dragon Ball's Hunt arc and the Red Ribbon Army arc. I'm looking for literary and ...
