Man, I had no idea they were that bad. I own the set, but I only watched episodes 25-32 or something like that. Geez, now I am definitely writing that letter. This manages to both suck and blow at the same time.

I think this sounds like a really good idea. While I have put up with the cropping and tried my best to enjoy it, I want my Dragonball in 4:3. I Don't know if this will work or not, but ill give it a shot and send in a letter(though not till after my test in Psych 101 on Tuesday). I just don't know ...

Who the hell is this "Triangle Man" that everyone talks about?

Let me post examples from a past thread.

Here is "Triangle Crap":

(about the featurette) : Poor guy. He's been tricked into the whole aspect ratio widescreen=awesom-ness thing.

I still find it strange that FUNi would spend so much money, but end up with cropped footage .
Yeah that is kinda weird. Does anyone know how much Toei spent on making the Dragon Box ...

Darkest moment would be future Gohan's death, definately.

I never watched that scene; was 17 powered up or something? Because it seemed like he had way too easy a time taking out 18, even though they were around the same power level, weren't they?

Not only was 17 stronger, but I think it was a ...

Where are you guys getting this early? I was just at Best Buy.
One guy said he worked at a movie store.

Others have claimed pre-ordering from FUNimation has gotten their sets early.

And, yes, I agree for the 3rd time. I REALLY WANT a clip! ANY!
I pre-ordered mine from Right Stuf and it came ...

I thought the scene where Cell absorbs that rich guy begging for his life through his tail is pretty dark. You get to see some of his bone structure and his face melt away. I also thought that DBZ movie 8 was always dark for some reason. I mean Broli's torment caused by Son Goku led to his insanity ...

(Getting on topic) To those who are planning on buying Season 1: After seeing the samples in this thread, are you planning on buying the rest of the boxsets (if they plan on doing the whole show that is)?

Most likely. The image is sharper than I thought it would be. I don't have the rest of ...

That would be better. More complaints and less sales = more chance of them fixing it.
Yeah I wouldnt buy them for $80 thats for sure.

Well dont get down! I mean things could always be worse. The season box sets could be $80 and without the japanese voiceovers.

No nobody wants to lose money. Toei revoking FUNi's license was just wishful thinking on my part.

I highly doubt that FUNimation will ever give up this series. They make too much money off of DBZ that they will never even think of letting the series go. All that brings up a question... Could Toei revoke FUNimation's license if they wanted to?

Well I just got it in the mail yesterday and watched about 9 episodes. I have to say that I enjoyed it and I didnt notice the cropping much at all. I think the colors look great and the frame rate is crisp (compared to the UUE's). I think they did a ok job overall and while the cropping is an issue ...

Pressing circle and square at the same time is very tricky, so I recommend switching L1's function into square's function (punch) in the option mode. That way, you can press L1 and circle simultaneously, and with ease (instead of holding the controller in a crazy way :P ). I remember executing ...

There is a cutscene type of thing that shows the finisher. You can definitly tell that you activate it or not. For instance this is Vegeta's finisher Oh cool, thanks for showing that. Well, I will update on this thread if I ever pull it off (but I won't bump the thread if it takes longer then 1 ...

You can only perform the move in the last round and your opponent has 10% or less health. It is finisher move for the character and you can only use it then. Last round meaning after both me and my opponent have won a round each (in a best of 3 match)? And the buttons to execute the move with Cell ...
