Re: Would Goku actually give Thanos the infinity stones?

Given Thanos the stones is comparible to giving someone the dragon balls. Goku would not allow it. I agree, giving Thanos those stones or the dragon balls would be just as bad as giving someone like Moro a Senzu bean, a mistake Goku is far to smart to make. So, I've not read the manga (I ass...

Re: Defense: Are they always that tough?

In most space scifi, there's usually a scene where the leader order energy diverted from one thing to bolster another. I see ki being used in the same manner. I wold assume that also relies on the user doing adaquate training to do so. The same as speed, attack, and any other RPG-like stats. And, ju...

Do 17 and 18 age?

Recently saw a peice of art work that depicted an old Krillin with a young looking 18. I don't recall any specific dialog about this, but I could be not remembering. Will these two greatly outlive their families?

um, this isn't anything new. They're both dubbed by Funimation,. Anime characters having the same voices as others from other since has been around since forever. But I'll play along. Here's a few from Yu Yu Hakusho Yusuke and Dende / Raditz / Super Buu Kurama and Tien Hiei and 17 Kuwabara and Vege...

Re: Would you say that GT is more or less liked nowadays?

Just like anything in existance, the further you moved away from it and have newer things to compare it too, the better it might seem. GT was never completely bad. There were a lot of good ideas, just maybe poorly executed. Now we have Super around to compare as the newest thing and for some GT isn'...

Re: Are senzu beans just a deus ex machina?

At some point in the story, Senzu's only benefit is healing wounds and all antaganists were strong enough to prevent you from using them. I would say around the Ginyu bits. Goku shows up and gets his body stolen and from then on all the villains have a pretty good upperhand on the heroes, or at the ...

Re: "Dragon Ball FighterZ" Official Discussion Thread

Complete gaming noob here: is there any space for Dragonball characters from the earlier arcs to be included in the game? I’m thinking largely non-ki blast using characters? Nam, Chi-Chi, Bora, Chappa, Tao, and King Piccolo are probably the chief characters I’m considering. As much as I'd love them...

Re: DB is not better than DBZ

DB was a very good consistant series that mixed in adventure, humor, and action. DBz was this crazy, flashy, explosive rollercoaster of an experience. DB, to me, had better story, plots, and good use of many characters. DBZ started trimming things down and became this lean this for most of it. The f...

Re: DB could work as Cartoon Series?

An americanized/western remake of Dragon Ball, or any other property could totally work. Or fail. Just like any and every property ever. I'm not saying that anyone could make it work, but there are several talented creators out there. I often fine myself pining for great animated programing for ten ...

Re: "Dragon Ball FighterZ" Official Discussion Thread

The flight thing doesnt really matter since there's no real flying mechanic in the game itself, so he'd be just fine dashing his way to opponents like everyone else. This has been a topic of debate for ages- there's no proper "flight" mechanic outside of Zamasu, but everyone can superdash and it's ...

Re: SAY-IN - SPECIAL BEAM CAN-IN - SUN GOKU - DESTRUCTO DISK | Why does Dragon Ball STILL suffer with these shortcomings

I’ve heard people say that the reason we still have terms like “Special Beam Cannon” and “Destructo Disk” is because Toei or Bandai or whoever insisted on that FUNimation stick with them. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but if it is, it would pretty much be in line with how Toho treats “Godzill...

Re: What's the definitive "Goku gets a one-sided ass-whooping" scene?

It's not that he considers it a loss because Goku was the better fighter, he hates that Goku got as far as he did. Vegeta lived with this caste system mentality that regardless of how much work a fighter did, elites are elites, and third class warriors are third class warriors. Goku should never ha...

Any scene where Chi-Chi is arguing with him.
This is the only correct answer. Because there's no winning in these confrutations. There's only Chi-chi calming down and letting Goku off the hook.

Everyone else Goku fights will eventaully lose.

Re: “There is nothing to learn from Dragon Ball,” says Akira Toriyama’s editor, Kazuhiko Torishima

If you've watched the series and was able to take something away from it that help you, so be it. Toriyama's just saying he never tried to do any of that, and not only is that fine, but greatly welcomed. No need to get your feelings hurt over this. And no need to be bothered enough to reach a stance...

Re: Toriyama's depiction of S-Cells is unlike midichlorians: people hung up on potential.

Anytime you start going this deep into discussing things in a piece of fiction, the first thing you need to ask yourself: How much effort did the creator put into this? Because if they are just making stuff up as they go along and not adding any sort of research into it, you will not get anywhere. E...

Re: Were Goku's gestures of mercy to enemies naivete or could they have worked out?

Nappa and Ginyu could probably be reformed. Nappa's a saiyan, and as such probably just loves all the fighting he gets to do. Direct all that energy to stopping other bad guys, or even just sparring with Goku. Ginyu is loyal to Freeza, and would require more work. We honestly know so little about hi...
