Without insight into Funimation's manufacturing cycle it's impossible to say for certain. Perhaps these sets normally reuse discs because Funimation also has excess stock of the older releases that hadn't moved through. Just relabel and repackage and voila! Just more information surrounding the repackaged nature of the season sets. A user mentioned earlier that the DVD volumes indicated they were the part releases as well. This is probably no surprise since I believe the menus do as well.
