I was around 10 or 11 and started watching it back when it used to air with Robotech. It was back when Toonami/Cartoon Planet was the best thing about Cartoon Network.

I finally saw that on YouTube and to me, it wasn't that great. Haven't seen the Chris Sabat version to compare, but I'm assuming that it's neither better nor worse.

I can see what you're saying. Though my bias is in the opposite direction because I started out with the Ocean dub and got attached to Dragonball Z through that.

I can still quote some of those cheesy Vegetas lines from back then.
