Re: making custom DVDs?
I once did something similar with the steelbook DVD. The Pioneer dubs seem to have been cut a little differently around reel changes and sometimes between shots. It would be easy to re-adjust with an audio editing program

Re: Telemundo TV Broadcast
How they handled Krillin getting impaled? i know PR got the scene without any cuts, i suppose they used the same master, and yeah, it was kinda surprising they aired that thing nearly uncut with a Y7 Rating I remember it not being much different from the Japanese version, but I'd have to dig throug...

Re: The UUE TV Broadcast
It was Adult Swim, so DBZ was on the tamer end. UUE 1-67 didn’t exactly replace the old seasons 1 and 2, which frequently were returned to in reruns. I don’t think the UUE was ever edited for daytime CN. Anyway, Toonami started to wind down after 2006. It was the orange bricks that solidified the U...

Re: The UUE TV Broadcast
“A guy on a forum in 2006 had insider detail that it was just a mistake that they accidentally aired the episode completely uncut in a special edition run of DBZ literally titled “Dragon Ball Z Uncut ” Ha ha ha ha ha. William C. Maune is the editor-in-chief of Toonzone, one of the leading animation...

Re: The UUE TV Broadcast
It wasn’t by accident! They literally advertised those episodes as being Uncut https://youtu.be/9pvsM2TSyrM No. In the link I posted, there was a guy who claimed Cartoon Network put in the wrong tape that night and that scene was supposed to have originally aired edited. He supposedly had connectio...

Re: The UUE TV Broadcast
Did CN really aired the whole thing visually uncut? Like, didn't they ever visually changed anything? (Naked Gohan, Hell, Raditz and Goku bleeding, etc) I recall it was uncensored from beginning to end. They even aired Goku's nudity in the Princess Snake episode (by accident!). Here's a talkback th...

Re: Telemundo TV Broadcast
Id love to see some Telemundo broadcasts. I used to watch around the cell games. I do want to say they were uncut?? But I cant fully recall. I really wish I recorded them tho.. I have two theories on what "Uncut" could have meant I know for sure blood was in the show (i don't think they had the tec...

Re: The original DB Manga and anime adaptations don’t reflect their era much
The animation quality of the original Dragon Ball TV series, painted on cels and photographed on film, is very much on par with other anime TV productions of the era such as Urusei Yatsura. Not as clean or stable as a digital production like Super. Some of the shots in Super could reach theatrical q...

Re: The original DB Manga and anime adaptations don’t reflect their era much
The original Dragon Ball manga and anime would be considered politically incorrect today (atleast by Western standards). I'm sure this has been discussed to death, but the tasteless jokes/crass humor were common in shounen fare of the 1980's. A modern remake may tone down a lot or adapt things diff...

Re: Question about Movie 12 for all you fansub experts out there
Update:
The group's name credited on the Movie 12 fansub is "Anime Densetsu No Kaitakusha" (in all caps). I can confirm this is the same version as it has the line that's in VegettoEX's screencap. Through a Google-search, it seems the group also fansubbed Saint Seiya as well.

Audio Quality on Japanese releases vs. Funimation
Does the audio quality on the Japanese VHS tapes of the movies have better fidelity than the Japanese-language tracks on Funimation's Bluray/DVD releases? I happen to have a few original Toei-released tapes from the late-80's/90's and was wondering if they were mastered from something higher-grade t...

Re: Is it fair to say that Dragon Ball is no longer marketed to kids in North America?
"Shit" was used in Kai? What? Lol My God, I must really have not paid much attention to the dialog lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoAWFT3nHJ0 Err. Kinda stretching it. I put it on my Hulu to get the subtitles. It had the Adult Swim logo on it, but here still says the exact same thing. The subt...

Re: Manga censorship
If one really wanted to have the uncensored Bulma boobs in their edition, they could just find the pics on the internet, print them out and glue them over the censored ones. Or if they live near a Japanese bookstore, just buy the tankoubon for cheap.

Re: Wasn't sure where to post this, but I just bought the only fansub tape on Ebay
Oh dang, those tapes take me back. I had a neighbor who lived next door that had some connections and those were always so gorgeous looking as it were. How much did they usually cost back in the day? I won the auction for this tape at 9.50 USD. Only one other person bid, I think because it was list...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
Hi everybody, I own the 30th anniversary boxset. I wanted to share with you a strange thing, and I search an explanation. It's clear that some episodes have a heavy DNR, that create fade lines like some screenshots proved it. But what is strange is that this not happen all the time : to be honnest,...
