You can't *add* something to a video file and then save it out to the exact same format without re-compressing it in some way. Sure, you could save an XviD to an XviD, but you're still going to have to re-compress it since you'll have added credits to the end. It just inherently does not work the ...

Ok, Thanks for the one bit of help. I can now read the file extension for all files on both H-D's.
The Video clips that no longer play in WinMedia are .mp2 extension.

WinMedia is updated through at least v11.

I have No problem with the .vob files. They play fine in PowerDVD.

That is that file name.
On this PC with xp-pro I don't see the file extension anymore. The old one did show them. (but that was xp-home)
I type it in but it does not show
each of the mpeg-2 videos now only show an icon with MPEG letters
My vob files do show up as MPEG files but the actual Mpeg ...

If vob files are Mpeg-2 files, Then Why can't I play the mpeg-2 videos I use to watch on WinMediaPlayer??

I have Power DVD player so why don't they automatically show up as PowerDVD files or even vob??

I was able to play mpeg-2 files before I had PowerDVD. That came with the DVD burner I bought to ...

I don't know. From what I read there, that system uses Mepg format. I need one that imports avi,divx & vob format video and can save in the same formats. (prederably saving Automatically in the original import file format)
I also asked for Freeware not trialware.

Freeware credit maker for avi,divx,&vob files

Is there a freeware editing software out there I can use to add credits to the end of clips in .avi, .divx, or .vob format and save the new file in the same format?
