I've seen What We Do in the Shadows? and The Hunter for Wildernerss and think Taika Waitit could do humour parts really well. Likewise Dragon Ball action done in Baahubali style could be fun too.

If another film does get made I hope Edgar Wright adapts it. He did an amazing job directing Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.

Re: If another US Live Action Movie was made, would you want a remake, or a reboot?

Kind of surprised they were able to get popular JPOP star Ayumi Hamasaki to make a song for it. I was surprised they bothered. Not saying she isn't talented, quite the opposite, but she always struck me as stylistically mismatched for a Dragon Ball movie, and I felt the same was true of her song fo...

Re: If another US Live Action Movie was made, would you want a remake, or a reboot?

Those are some fair assassments. Every film is different but making double your budget is usually considered the minmum qualifcation as sucesss. That said might be differnt for a film that made most of its gross overseas. I was definitely the only one in the thatre when I saw it. Kind of surprised t...

Re: If another US Live Action Movie was made, would you want a remake, or a reboot?

It wasn't changes to the original plot and characterization that killed Evolution, it was poor writing and directing. Goku and Chichi being high school lovers wasn't the problem. Had the production not been rushed and the people involved stepped up their efforts, Evolution could have been successfu...

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 10/12/20!)

I wish you would’ve covered Spopovich’s death, but it looks like that’s for next time. That was a moment that really weirded me out when I watched it as a kid. I always thought Spopvich and Dabura could have been the same character. Would have helped build up Gohana fight with him more, instead of ...

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 10/12/20!)

Hmm, now that I look at your manga in that video the artwork for the Buu Saga is better than I remember. I always wonderd what was going on through Gohan's mind during the whole energy drian. "Why can't I move? Why is no one helping?" Fun Fact: the episode where the energy drain happened premi...

Honestly I've never met anyone outide of the internet who dislikes GT. So I guess I would say it's popularity hasn't changed at all from my perception.

Yeah, and you could say I've never forgiven him for encouraging such things. Me neither. It's very disappointing and it showcases a lack of regard for any standard of quality when making the series smh. That statement should have been a red flag for Toriyama's mentality when it comes to telling sto...

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 8/31/20!)

You say you don't want to turn your brain off but Toriyama says If you could please enjoy that Dragon World without thinking about anything, I’ll be happy . Wonder how fans would recept this fight if it was someone like Krillin or Yamcha in Videl's place. Always thought Spopvich and Dabura could hav...

Dragon Ball: The Game : The Movie: The Game Reminds me of how both 1994 Street Fighter movies got a video game adaptation. Haha, that's definitely what I was paying "tribute" to with that gag! I was thinking that, but I've never seen you talk about SF before, so I thought maybe I was j...

Re: DB is not better than DBZ

Vegeta technically had to "cheat" by going Oozaru, but it counts. Wait, why is that cheating though? Its his own ability. It definitely isn't. Vegeta won that fight fair and square. Only villains Goku legetimitely beat by himself in DBZ are Nappa, Recoome, Burter, Freeza/King Cold and Yakon.

Of the top of my head I can recall Mickey Mouses's Steamboat Willie, The Mad Doctor and Fantasia - all of which predate my existence by a long shot. Plus, Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny are still getting TV series. Micky Mouse is even a character on South Park.

Re: Could have Dragon Ball survived in the English Speaking world without Cartoon Network?

As ABED said, you can't compare a medium to fictional characters. A more apt comparison would just be Superman and Dragon Ball/Goku. Even in that one I'd say that, going by the past two decades so far I'd say Superman has way more product awareness in the US. Dragon Ball's had two new cartoons, one ...

Re: Could have Dragon Ball survived in the English Speaking world without Cartoon Network?

But anime almost always gets limited releases here in cinemas. Sure some films like Akira, Ghost in the Shell and Your Name get attention from film enthusiasts, but it's a pretty rare occasion. I doubt a lot of people would say Disney/superhero films are their favourites, but they get a ton more vie...

Whole lot of citation needed there.
YOU'RE the one who needs citations when you argue "anime wasn't mainstream until Toonami," an objectively false statement that MULTIPLE people have told you is false.
Show me where in the thread I said Toonami made anime mainstream.
