Re: Comparison shots from every single DBZ release

Thought so. If you're seeing ringing, likely what's going on here is that Toei used the Blu-ray version of Kai 2.0, which is the Japanese cut, and has horrendous sharpening on top. Might explain the sepia tint too! Those colors are clearly intentional. Even Kai 1.0 had some flashbacks with a ...

Re: Opening in "Blu Ray"?

It just looks like Enigmo's "remastering" with really, really off colors. I don't know if that's his channel and he just changed its name, or if someone re-posted it.

For me, probably Kibito. It happens so fast, and is undone almost as quickly, that it's hard to remember that he even died at all, but he did.
Yeah, when I finally got back into Dragon Ball with the orange bricks, I was surprised because I completely forgot about that.

Re: Minority representation for minority characters in Voice acting

For coloured, there's a lot of rightful stigma since it's a deeply outdated term, and offensive in many places of the world. Of course I agree, and I never use that term, but I still see even progressive people using that term, so it's a bit hard to tell what is and isn't accepted today. Well, afte...

Re: Minority representation for minority characters in Voice acting

People that default hard to saying "African American" to the point they can't bring themselves to saying anything else always end up making themselves look like complete assclowns whenever they have to refer to a black person from some other country. Just saying. Non-Americans do NOT like being cal...

I wouldn't say "everything else fits in very well". I mean, Paikuhan's entire existence is contradicted by this Goku's statement. After all, if there is someone like Paikuhan out there (or Paikuhan himself), why wouldn't Goku try to fuse? https://i.postimg.cc/rpSMnwy7/Sem-t-tulo.png Goku might have...

This was a problem on my end for years. I ended up giving up and just staying signed in all of the time.

Supernatural is geared towards mainly males and yet its fanbase is overwhelmingly female. What you target and what you hit aren't always the same thing.
Like how the original Gundam targeted kids, but it was a hit with an older, teenage demographic.

Where are these coming from? How do you know they are accurate scan? They're from Toei's VOD service. I couldn't access the site because it's region locked, but Ajay had a link to an image from there earlier in the thread that I was able to alter to get lots of the other scans myself. They're actua...

Oh! Thanks for that link! I found mine through Toei's VOD site, and those are much lower resolution. This will help me for some personal projects, so thank you!

it will be said if she passes away I think every dragon ball fan will be heartbroken.
If? I mean, she is only human. It's only a matter if time for us all.

Of course, I hope she lives as long as possible.

It's amazing how condensed that timeframe is and yet as a kid, it all felt interminable.
For me, I recorded every episode, and I also watched the reruns on the Midnight Run and so I was watching it more than it aired, so in hindsight, it felt like it was repeating more than it was.

Re: "You're a Weeb"

The North American Dragon Ball fanbase is split between the English and Japanese dubs. Because of how radically different the two dubs can be (particularly with earlier media), the two sides often clash over which is superior. When it comes to fans of the English dub, they often dismiss those who p...

Re: What's the definitive "Goku gets a one-sided ass-whooping" scene?

I'll toss a vote for Z movie 7 with Super 13 beating Goku down. I mean, he punches Goku in the testicles, and then even blasts his shirt off! I mean, sure, his shirt has come off many times before and since (and that's when you know he's taken a beating, whenever his shirt is torn off), but to have ...

Because "Makkankosappo" sounds absolutely ridiculous in English. Or you could actually adapt the Japanese term as Viz did. Though, Viz' localization has apparently gone to shit as of late, since the latest chapter of Super had 17 say "spoiler alert". I hate that shit, and it really makes me think o...

I like the DB ones but the Z ones just look like the old singles, right down to the tint and purple shirt.
Yeah, it's clearly just a hue shift (towards green. Look at the green hue of Krillin's dougi). That's not how the color correction is done with Dragon Box footage.
