Re: My Attempt to Improve the Orange Bricks

That doesn't even look like an Orange Brick screenshot. It loos more like the Season BD to me. It's a way too blue for those episodes, and not only that, but it's half the resolution and heavily compressed, so what's even the point? Here's an actual Orange Brick screenshot from one of the overly bri...

Re: Would you pay Funimation via Kickstarter for a redub of the full Dragon Ball media

There was a time in my life where I'd be excited about the prospect of such a thing, but nowadays I'll just watch the Japanese versions or if I really need it in English, I can tolerated FUNi's Dragon Ball dub, and Kai's dub is good enough as well.

Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks

You know, I'd consider this a tolerable release if it was the same remaster, just without that fake grain layer.

I mean, the DNR is a bad thing, but then further muddying it up with artificial noise just makes it even worse.

Whoops forgot something, here's a quick comparrison I whipped up for HnK if you care to look  - - > https://imgur.com/a/GXEdHfh That first shot definitely doesn't look like an actual screenshot from the DVDs. It looks like one of the heavily compressed streaming versions of the show. There's c...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release

If it gets a standard release after this hopefully it replaces the 16:9 Blu-rays and that's kind of a good thing! This release: 4:3 DNR'd to hell Next release 16:9 with grain  You've got it all wrong This Release: 4:3 DNR'd to Hell with fake grain added on top! They should re-DNR this fa...

Re: Myth - "Funimation didn't acquire film masters of DBZ until 2008"

I mean DBZ ep 1 on the old 4:3 DVDs looks very different from the rest. By a lot of the fandom ep 1 is criticised for how it looks on these old DVDs and there was this notion that ep 1 of every release must be inferior quality. But it actually looks better than the rest. It has way more grain than ...

Re: Dragon Ball Z 4:3 Steelbooks

All three seasons that have been announced are on Amazon now and Season 1 has dropped down to $53.99. Season 1 Season 2 Season 3 Man the prices for those steelbooks are gonna be insane in Canada smh. Why is funimation making them so expensive for? Its literally the same remaster as the 2014 Blu Ray...

Wait, THESE are limited edition too?

So fucking sick of FUNimation making the proper aspect ratio a "rare" and "limited" thing. So fucking annoying.

Dont know if this is the same person but found this on Twitter https://twitter.com/dbaiproject/status/1246609492751667201 Okay, why does this, what I can only assume is the "before" frame look like a YouTube rip instead of the actual source footage from the Dragon Box? It's clearly had some DVNR ap...

Re: Wow. The GT OST.

I disagree. Story took completely different direction since Saiyan saga. Goku was revelaed to be an alien and story was focused on aliens, space, time travel and even gods. Before that, Piccolo was just a "demon", in Z he was introduced as another alien. Z also introduced SSJ transformations and co...

Re: Comparison shots from every single DBZ release

Thought so. If you're seeing ringing, likely what's going on here is that Toei used the Blu-ray version of Kai 2.0, which is the Japanese cut, and has horrendous sharpening on top. Might explain the sepia tint too! Those colors are clearly intentional. Even Kai 1.0 had some flashbacks with a ...

It just looks like Enigmo's "remastering" with really, really off colors. I don't know if that's his channel and he just changed its name, or if someone re-posted it.

For me, probably Kibito. It happens so fast, and is undone almost as quickly, that it's hard to remember that he even died at all, but he did.
Yeah, when I finally got back into Dragon Ball with the orange bricks, I was surprised because I completely forgot about that.

Re: Minority representation for minority characters in Voice acting

For coloured, there's a lot of rightful stigma since it's a deeply outdated term, and offensive in many places of the world. Of course I agree, and I never use that term, but I still see even progressive people using that term, so it's a bit hard to tell what is and isn't accepted today. Well, afte...

For coloured, there's a lot of rightful stigma since it's a deeply outdated term, and offensive in many places of the world. Of course I agree, and I never use that term, but, after a search, I guess "person of color" is the term I was thinking of, even though to me it sounds way too close to "colo...

Re: Minority representation for minority characters in Voice acting

People that default hard to saying "African American" to the point they can't bring themselves to saying anything else always end up making themselves look like complete assclowns whenever they have to refer to a black person from some other country. Just saying. Non-Americans do NOT like being cal...

I wouldn't say "everything else fits in very well". I mean, Paikuhan's entire existence is contradicted by this Goku's statement. After all, if there is someone like Paikuhan out there (or Paikuhan himself), why wouldn't Goku try to fuse? https://i.postimg.cc/rpSMnwy7/Sem-t-tulo.png Goku might have...
