Has there been any updates to Dragon Ball Recut, or any other highly regarded fan edits that have been released in the last few years? Is this still considered the definitive version of a "Kai" version of Dragon Ball?

Yeah, absolutely congrats on getting this done. The episodes I've seen so far, mostly some highlights from Kai 1.0, have been masterfully done. I can't believe you got it done so quickly.

Also your replacement for the episode 1 recap is a definite improvement, Cha La keeps the upbeat nature of that ...

Did you have to manually create the SFX tracks with echoes etc since the Kai 1.0 method didn't work?

I was listening to some of the Buu arc for this alongside the Kikuchi project, and noticed this one has a lot more background sounds effects like voice echoes etc.

Did you manage to find a way to isolate those then? I remember you saying your inversion method didn't work for the Buu arc.

I've heard that someone has been syncing Dragon Box Z footage to Kai and completed the Saiyan and Freeza sagas, but I haven't seen it materialise yet. I think it might just be floating around some discord servers.

The Sonic series took a lot of inspiration (some things like Super Sonic are flat out references) from Dragon Ball. There are quite a few points of inspiration/reference.

I was tempted to say the same as some others - use God instead of Blue and nothing changes. The reveal in RoF is that they can tap into it willingly now.

I think it's more interesting from the perspective of a longer series of it's left as a distant goal for longer though - not showing up again ...

Either the manga or the Dragon Ball anime (SoM CC), with the caveat that it's a product of its time and place and there's some pretty cringe sex jokes early on but don't worry it mostly chills out before long.

Managed to finally score this iconic scene. It's a shame Kai's editing doesn't allow a fuller use of the track, but that's the sacrifice the editing makes.

That's a pretty seamless edit to hit the chorus at the right moment!

I managed to use some of kai's placements here and there that were IMO superior to the original score, plus editing differences.
