Re: "Jaco the Galactic Patrolman" discussion thread (DB–11?)

Hmm, chapter 2 is out with Shonen Jump now.

The series as a whole definitely has this slow pacing so far, but it's still interesting to me. With only 11 chapters being released, it feels like Toriyama knows he doesn't need to hook you with immediate action to keep you interested and keep the ...

Re: "Jaco the Galactic Patrolman" discussion thread (DB–11?)

I'm actually quite glad Shueisha spilled the beans; that way I don't have to listen to people continually sizing Jaco up against Dragon Ball, despite them having nothing in common. :p

As for how it relates, it seems to me a story post-Dragon Ball, honestly. The time travel bit seemed really ...

Re: Listing for "Ocean Dub"-specific DBZ in July

What's wrong with Klassen's Kuririn? Is it worse than Sonny's Popeye on helium?
I certainly find it more annoying. In the Saban dub I didn't mind it but in the Westwood dub his voice just seems to get on my nerves. Klassen doesn't sound remotely tough as Krillin but Sonny's does sound tough. I ...

Re: North Carolina's Animazement to Host Nozawa and Furukawa

It would be nice if Akira Toriyama attended one of these, though, that will probably never happen. :|

It's certainly not likely , but to be fair, I said to a friend that Masako Nozawa would never attend a con last year right after meeting Furukawa at Animazement 2012 ... and look what happened ...

Re: North Carolina's Animazement to Host Nozawa and Furukawa

You really did hit the luck jackpot, Kakarot88. I loved your Goku, and your group too! You were all fantastic and adorable. My husband was especially thrilled to meet a Mr. Satan cosplayer, since he loves him.

I ended up in the elevator at the hotel with Nakao and Minaguchi, which was nerve ...

Re: North Carolina's Animazement to Host Nozawa and Furukawa

Bilis, I can't wait to watch the panel videos later! I was there even, but still a part of me is excited about it as if it were something new. I've been giddy about them all weekend, especially meeting Nozawa! Nakao's panel was seriously the best end to the weekend, too. All of you guys who ...

Re: North Carolina's Animazement to Host Nozawa and Furukawa

So... it looks like Yuko Minaguchi (Videl/Pan) will be also be a guest attendee at this year's Animazement. This deal's gettin' better all the time!

Re: North Carolina's Animazement to Host Nozawa and Furukawa

Those of you who are going, what's your big goal? An autograph? A conversation? A chance to record a podcast opening? Letting Nozawa, Nakao, and Furukawa sit and watch you stare at them and drool? I'm sure that for those of you who go to cons regularly, this sounds like such a silly question, but I ...

Re: North Carolina's Animazement to Host Nozawa and Furukawa

That would be mind-blowing, but I am trying not to get my hopes up. I'm also trying not to expect them to even show the movie, but I think we all see how extremely fitting it would be, and how it would be a big missed opportunity not to.

Yeah, I'm not going to go in expecting it and am just dying ...

Re: North Carolina's Animazement to Host Nozawa and Furukawa

What day do you think her panel will be? I only had enough money to book a hotel for Saturday night.

Maybe we'll get lucky and get multiple panels since she's such a fabulously famous legend. Furukawa did more than one last year (I went to the Sunday one only though because it conflicted ...

Re: North Carolina's Animazement to Host Nozawa and Furukawa

I'm a central NC native so I've been going years already, but I absolutely lost it at the announcement today. Never in a million years expected it! And now I can't wait until Memorial Day weekend!

As for her experience though, Animazement is actually a good starter con. It's not overly large and ...
