It takes a lot for me to start majorly geeking out at just the slight possibility of doing something, but I pump myself up every time I go to the Animazement site to semi-entertain the notion of driving 6.5 hours to meet these people. Nozawa being in America is seriously one of those "once in a lifetime" things, so I'd hate to miss it. But at the same time, I've never been to a con, so I'd have no idea what to do. You get, like, ten seconds with these people before you're asked to move along, right? So, do you just walk up and say "OhHiThereI'mABigFanCanYouSignThisOkayBye!" And considering the language barrier, I doubt I'd even get to do that.
Those of you who are going, what's your big goal? An autograph? A conversation? A chance to record a podcast opening? Letting Nozawa, Nakao, and Furukawa sit and watch you stare at them and drool? I'm sure that for those of you who go to cons regularly, this sounds like such a silly question, but I've seriously never been to something like this before.
Not necessarily. I went to my first con at 15, and t was like...the best thing ever, With guests specifically, you usually at least get a few minutes with them at autographs lines, and I have yet to meet one who's mean to their fans. They usually let you take small recordings like phone blips. The only time I was permitted to actually interview a guest for an extended amount of time was if I did press though.

In addition to autograph lines, they have panels, where you can individually ask them questions. While a lot of people go to panels, it can really feel like an individual experience. Some guests even roam the halls and hang out at the con with attendees. I know of a few who have more close attendee friends than other guests. XD
Then there are dealers rooms. Just....be prepared to spend more money than you have on more things than you need.
The rest is really fan-driven! The fans run their own panels on shows, culture, academia or activities! I actually do the DBZ panels at a few cons.

Those are really great ways to meet like-minded friends. There's also cosplay, which is SO. DAMN. FUN. The costumes you'd see are AMAZING.
Cons are great. Even if there wasn't this amazing lineup, you would have SUCH a great time! Buuut, there is a great line up. SO GO!
