Re: Special Podcast Episode: DBZ Video Game Music #2

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share my love for Harukanaru Goku Densetsu , Mike!

The full episode was a really fun listen full of some awesome tunes both familiar and otherwise; a wonderful retrospective. Really digging the C-H-A-R-A-C-T-E-R-C-U-S-T-O-M-I-Z-E tune that Mike ...

Re: Has the Novelty of New Animation Worn Off?

Personally, I can't get enough of the new animation. After such a long drought of no new Dragon Ball animation (Final Bout was from 1997, Budokai 2 was from 2003) , I am ecstatic every time we are treated to something new. Maybe I'm just easy to please.

The Jump Special was like manna from Heaven ...

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?

I need to get me one of those pimp Piccolo SCultures. However, I am curious about something. Almost all of the images I have seen of the figure out of the box show the fingers on his extended hand bending backwards. Is this something that can be corrected somehow, or are the fingers too fragile to ...

Re: FUNimation's Dragon Boxes have indeed been discontinued

Just out of curiosity, and my apologies if this has already been asked, but is it possible that FUNimation was just losing money on the Dragon Boxes? I mean, the SRP of those boxes was around $60, but I don't think I ever paid more than $30 for any one of them thanks to sites like Amazon. It had to ...

Re: What if Roshi's Mafūba didn't miss?

Dr. Gero started his Artificial Human project before he knew of Goku, and he would still desire to conquer the world. So I think he would still built No.17, 18 and the others.
He started the project before he knew Goku, but he only created #'s 16-20 (and 13-15, if you want to canonize that movie ...

Re: Favourite Ginyuu Special-Squad member?

What are you talking about? :o Batta and Jizu are two loud guys, who keep talking during Recoome's fight and screaming at Goku.
I suppose you have a point. Although, I think Jeece does most of the noise-making. Ultimately you could argue that Guldo is the most silent, but that could just be ...

Re: What if Roshi's Mafūba didn't miss?

There would be no Super Saiya-jins. Trunks would never be born. The androids would never need to be created and/or awakened.

I think #17 and #18 would still have been made since Dr. Gero wanted revenge on Goku. I think they would have been weaker but Goku and the others could still defeated ...

Re: Favourite Ginyuu Special-Squad member?

My favorite has always been Bahta . His character design has always stood out from the rest of the Ginyu Squad to me. I also like that he and Jeece had a combination special attack. None of the other members had moves that combined together, so I always liked that. He's also the most silent of the ...

Re: What if Roshi's Mafūba didn't miss?

Kame-senin's Mafūba didn't miss, Piccolo Daimao was re-sealed and Ma Junior never was:

The 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai would have been much less interesting. Ma Junior would not have been a participant and, therefore, neither would have "Shen". Thus, the finals would probably end up being between Goku ...

Re: Your favorite Dragon Ball Saga/Arc

I'm pretty sure it did come out before Z... it just wasn't as popular and got cancelled in favour of Z.
Yeah but that was due to a horrible timeslot and horrible dubbing. Z didn't get a good start either in the states.
T'was the timeslot that killed the savage TV series. This showed aired at 5 ...

Re: Dragonball Errors

The shading fits Piccolo more because his body is blocking the sun. Looks darker than his other hand, and that side of Kami is facing the sun. He has darker skin anyway, though, so that's why I ask if they're wrinkled from being so old.

[snip]

Yeah, I don't think that's Kami's hand.
You have to ...

So I'm watching Kai right now and I'm at this scene. I'm thinking to myself, isn't this actually an error? Kami has yellow colors while Piccolo has pink. So either they screwed up on the colors or Piccolo's arm really is to his side.
My gut reaction is that it was colored wrong. Seeing the ...

Re: Dragonball ringtone question

iPhones are really easy to make ringtones for. If you have a sound editor, you can easily make your own. If you don't have one, I would suggest WavePad ; it's free and easy to use. Once you have the sound you want, you can use the editor to save the file as a .M4A file. Next, you have to manually ...

Re: Are you picky about DBZ game editions?

For the most part, I am not a fan of these "best seller" repacks.

For me, it's not so much the fact that these titles stick out like a sore thumb on your shelf, but rather that the manufacturing of the packaging is usually cheaper; manuals that were originally in color are now in B&W and/or disc ...
