Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming.

I don't know what's more surprising, the fact that Ocean managed to keep the new Goku a secret for this long, or the fact that the identify of the voice actor of the new Goku has been revealed before an official announcement. Anyway following on from the reveal that Richard Ian Cox is the new Goku,...

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK

That's correlation without necessarily causation, though. What else was going on at the time that switch happened? Were ratings down across the board for other shows? Was there a similar ratings drop on Cartoon Network US when the "Fusion Saga" stuff hit? Was it just that earlier episodes had highe...

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK

Ocean fans will always use that CNX situation as an argument but they have no proof. Can you give me official proof that that ratings dropped when FUNi aired or even didn't climb? FUNi didn't stop it from being the No.1 show in the old sagas so it wouldn't in the Fusion saga either. Actually, the h...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming.

Maybe they thought he didn't want to come back based on him leaving in the previous dub. I thought of that as well, but the situation is not the same as it was in the early 2000s. Kelamis seemed a bit disappointed at not being asked to return so it's possible if chosen he may have committed for the...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming.

Not happening. Kelamis wasn't even asked to audition. I want to add a personal option to this point. When Kelamis told me that he wasn't asked to audition for Goku, I found it......strange. Out of the VAs who have dubbed for Goku, Kelamis was the closest to the original Japanese, especially vocal w...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming.

Would say it would be as good as Ocean's dub of Black Lagoon ? Blu-Ray set out soon (tomorrow in fact) from Funimation, by the way. Both seasons. The English dub, along with Death Note 's is probably Ocean's finest work. Haven't seen Black Lagoon so can't say. Is there any possibility of this getti...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming.

But again, Subzero Ice, if you don't mind my asking...how would you know this (as in, behind-the-scenes info about the dub)? I don't mind you asking, it's a fair question. But at this point I wouldn't feel comfortable revealing my source(s) as they would run the risk of getting into trouble. I don'...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming.

Well, "serious" is a relative term, but voice actors have lost their jobs over breaking an NDA before. Most of the time, especially for something like Kai, they'd just get a slap on the wrist, but then they also risk the long-term consequences of being labeled as somebody who's not reliable to work...

Some facts and information on the Ocean dub of Kai

Now that the Ocean Productions dub of Dragon Ball Kai is close to getting released (or so I was informed) I decided to finally start interacting with the community. A quick refresher. Back in earlyish 2010 I came across Sean Schemmel talking about how good the Funimation dub of Kai apparently was go...

Last time I heard, O'Hara was not coming back, unfortunately :(

I'm disappointed as well, I love her as Bulma.

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK

CSC Media didn't have any plans to broadcast Dragon Ball Kai this month, not sure why Toei Animation's website claimed so.
