Yeah, probably the same era. I didn't get any DB games in between Tenkaichi 3 and Xenoverse, which I believe is very close to the time range you gave. (I know Xenoverse came out in 2015. I got Tenkaichi 3 in 2008 but suspect it came out before then).

I'm not overwhelmed because I really only follow the Super anime, and only occasionally have an interest in a game. I'm not really into the franchise aside from that. So I'm actually happy. I know that Super has many, many problems, but I honestly felt the same way about Z, so I'm enjoying it.

Why on earth would you say that? FighterZ is an entirely different kind of game than Xenoverse. Although I love the graphics, I don't know that the game would do too much for me. I'd be very sad if they discontinued Xenoverse.

I wouldn't see anyone getting a perma-death. Just because 17 doesn't appear at the end of Z doesn't really mean anything. They've wrote him into Super in a way that once the tournament is over he can slip back onto his animal reservation island and not interact with the characters ever again.
