Well, of course, you can't forget the idea of "DBZ properly." Does that mean individual episodes or the entire series? Because if it's the latter, sadly, the singles can't qualify because the entire series was never released that way.
No argument there. I just guess, looking at my own history ...

Re: Has Dragonball aged well?
And I probably should have noted that from a storytelling standpoint, Dragon Ball hasn't aged a day. Narratively, it is as good (and sometimes messy) as it ever was. The story is timeless, and that's probably the most important thing to note, production issues aside.

Re: Has Dragonball aged well?
It's hard to say, given personal attachment/blind love for the series, but as others have said, the manga definitely has (I think the recent 'colored' versions have proven this; they may 'spruce up' the artwork with color, but the artistic foundations are still identical, and they absolutely floor ...

Re: Has Funimation ever released DBZ properly?
Horrible orange brick flashbacks aside, in answer to the basic question of this topic, I think the answer is a pretty undeniable 'yes.' It's easy to get caught up in the unfinished releases and marketing lies and such, but the fact is, if the question here is 'properly,' then Funimation had been ...

Re: How many English releases will you own before you stop?
I have the Dragon Boxes for Z, and for me, that's perfect. Don't need to buy another release with those on my shelf (especially considering how many damn releases I bought before those came out...sigh...). For Dragon Ball and GT, I have the original singles (saga 2-disc sets for DB), and for DB at ...

Re: DBZ portion of Manga to be in full color?!
I got my three volumes in this weekend, and while I have only had time to read through Volume 1, I can say I am overjoyed with my purchase. As others have attested, the paper quality and overall presentation is spectacular - although the complete absence of title pages, or indications of chapter ...

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
Finally got these in today. I was so excited, and they did not disappoint! I had read some of the English versions in Viz's WSJ, but they look so much better in print! Really happy these are coming out - they do not replace the original manga for me, but I think they make for a really neat ...

I have not posted on this forum in a really long time (mostly come to Kanzenshuu for podcast, news, guides, etc.), but I saw this thread and realized I had never looked this up for myself before, and there was something absolutely, eerily crazy about the results I had to share.

Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
I've never been happier that I got the DragonBoxes at the right time....and even though I ultimately wasn't interested in the Level releases, I feel really bad right now for everyone who DID invest in them. I totally understand being excited about DBZ on Blu-Ray, especially when the end product was ...

Re: Did Cartoon Network finish showing the "Ultimate Uncut E
Did they broadcast all the title cards in the UUE format (that red screen with "ドラゴンボールZ")? I'd like to see some unreleased ones.
Well.......now I'm kicking myself. When the UUE episodes originally aired on Cartoon Network, it was my first chance to see the Saiyan and Namek stuff (I was just a ...

Re: Dragon Box questions
I for the life of me can not figure out why everyone is starting to bash the Dragon Boxes now ever since the blu-rays were released. People used to worship the Dragon box quality now they turn against it just because the colors aren't as "close" to the original airing quality.

Re: FUNimation to put DBZ on Blu-Ray
It's funny, that's a lot of releases, eighteen in total, and if Amazon's price holds steady across all, one could reasonably assume to spend around 370 dollars on the entire series. That's somewhat steep, but that's still lower than people paid for one half of the series in Dragon Box form in the ...

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
In addition to the DBZ Movies 1-5 set, I just got a bunch of the original Dragon Ball saga sets, which I'm collecting for Japanese title cards. My collection is pretty much done, and I'll probably grab the season one blue brick to get the early episodes. Does anyone know where I can find the ...

Re: Favorite English Goten
They're good, but they're no Nozawa.
Actually, scratch that, I don't like the English voices at all. Goten's voice just sounds disingenuous to me in English, although I think it's a step up from Goku and Gohan's child voices in the original dubs. Nozawa's Goten is almost unbearably cute and lovable ...

Re: Dragon Ball Z Movie Pack 1 & 2 (1-9) DVD sets at RightSt
Alright, after reading the "Dead Zone" description on that box art, I'm now imagining the alternate-universe version of this movie where when Garlic Jr. tries to kidnap Gohan, Gohan turns SSJ2 while "refusing to surrender his own magic orb." Very different path for the film.

You'll have to tell me where to look though, as I've never watched the dubs for these movies.
