Re: DragonBall Symphonic Adventure (2017)

I haven't seen those, but I have heard his music in Dr Slump and Aralé and The New Tenchi Muyo! (AKA Tenchi in Tokyo), and I felt like the songs had enuf variety, and were quite catchy and fitting. But maybe that's just me. I will say, however, that the style of his music did fit the "old Chinese fa...

Re: DragonBall Symphonic Adventure (2017)

I don't believe that Shunsuke Kikuchi coasted off the compositions of Takeshi Ike , Chiho Kiyooka , and Keiju Ishikawa . Sure, he had plenty of arrangements of their songs, but MOST of the music was original work. And it's that original work that was played the most, and is usually the most remember...

Re: DragonBall Symphonic Adventure (2017)

But the fact that he didn't write a single song (all songs are vocal to begin with, it's in the name) for DB but just performed re-arrangements that any other skilled composer can do (Kōhei Tanaka) is telling, and reveals the fact that people who were even better suited to score the whole show exis...

Re: Is there interest in a DEFINITIVE version for Dragon Ball Kai: The Final Chapters?

Soundtrack: 2. Using Kenji Yamamoto's score from Dragon Ball Kai. Cons: -Yamamoto never really got the chance to compose anything for Kai with the Buu arc in mind due to his controversies. Because of this, I would be forced to reuse tracks from the first run of Dragon Ball Kai. It might technically...

Re: (Project idea) Dragon Ball Z Kai Upscale

He's literally blowing up 4k images into small nuggets to highlight his "point". No, he was just showing them in full 1080p. No blowing up. And, yes, he WAS showing just select pieces; to show what he was talking about. Some parts look sharp, but some parts look blurry. It's kinda all over the plac...

Re: DragonBall Symphonic Adventure (2017)

Whoa, boy! Finally! I hope this comes to the Pacific Northwest. I wish I had a Dragon Ball friend in real life to go with. Or a roommate or boyfriend to introduce the series to. It's otherwise too long of a series to get most people into. And with only half a year till the concert...

Re: Why did Toei hire Yamamoto for Kai in the first place?

I think it was the massive international love for Yamamoto's music in the then-recent videogames that led to him being chosen for Dragon Ball Kai. Maybe? We all know that Shunsuke Kikuchi retired at the time after scoring DBZ thus Toei hired Akihito Tokunaga for GT's score composition. Kikuchi actua...

Re: Comparison shots from every single DBZ release

No. TVs display it at whatever resolution the TV can upscale it to while maintaining the intended aspect ratio. The source resolution is 720x480. Your TV upscales that to 1440x1080 for a 1080p monitor. On a CRT, it would natively display it at 720x480, but shape the pixels such that it was a 4:3 im...

Re: Help Me Gather the Lost Remants of the Toonami Dub?

First up, there was a version between versions 1 and 2, and that was what aired on YTV. I know some people who are trying to get this stuff, and I know someone who's already got at least some of it. Anyway, essentially what this was was that starting from the Garlic Jr. saga's first airing, all Fun...

Help Me Gather the Lost Remants of the Toonami Dub?

I'm interested in restoring the lost Funimation's Dragon Ball Z Ver. 1 and Funimation's Dragon Ball Z Ver. 3 . The versions that aird on WB and Cartoon Network (or YTV if you're Canadian), from 1996 till 2008 (?). Ver. 2 would be what was on the DVD singels, and Ver. 4 would be what's on all DVDs/BD...

Re: Why did Toei change Broly’s hair color?

That's just the Gold Hair Version of the toy. Normally he had yellow hair just like all the Super Saiyans, but also, each Super Saiyan had a special Gold Hair Version too. Toei just loves the color green. From tinting DB green on all its releases to givving Seto Kaiba from Yu-Gi-Oh! green hair in th...

Re: Comparison shots from every single DBZ release

But TVs display it as 640x480, yeah? I feel like that would make it the ideal resolution to compare. Even if there's a better stretching/squishing method, it wouldn't be as relevant. Correct me if I'm wrong, tho. I'm not the biggest nerd in this particular category.

Yes, BluezaBladeNX! That'd be great! :D Yeah they do look good as replacements for the boxes themselves, and to answer you question he has them up on Google Plus. I don't know at this point if he has the artwork from the DB Dragon Box there or not, it was mostly the covers of the FUNi Z Boxes. Thank...

Re: Comparison shots from every single DBZ release

What do you mean my Singles screenshots "aren't true quality", tho? They're in 640×480 (proper standard definition, 4:3 resolution). Yours is 720 × 540. Plus, looking at the clouds in the background of your screenshot, it's noticeably not the correct frame.

They look quite nice. Did the place you got the coverart from have coverart for the Dragon Ball Dragon Box? I don’t have a use for it, but would just love to gaze upon it’s beauty in as high quality as possible.

How? FUNi owns the license.
They own it in the United States, but maybe not Canada, and definitely not in Greenland, Iceland, or Europe. I don't know where Animemaakuo lives, but if it's outside the U.S. then there's a shot.

This and it's not an investment if you don't expect a return.
If he were to get enough money for distribution rights, it would bring in money. Hopefully enough to at least pay for the licensing, remastering, and publishing, but ideally enuf to make a profit.

Re: It’s time for fans to come together and remaster the series properly.

Crowdfunding is an option. That’s how fans are now able to buy the Mother and Mother 2 albums for the first time outside Japan. And on vinyl. Japan never even got that.

Re: It’s time for fans to come together and remaster the series properly.

Is it possible as an external company to licence the series? If, say, you lived in Canada, which I don’t THINK Funimation has the rights to, you could maybe get a scan of the (actual) original film and release it there.

Or maybe convince Toei to hire you to remaster the series for THEM to sell?
