Re: Would Dragon Ball be successful in English-speaking countries if the old English dubs weren't Americanized?
Also I see discourse in here on the aspect that the english dubs were aired out of order. So that makes me wonder about the timing of it all. Like I think Dragon Ball hit in America at a time where it was primed for anime to start being popular. You had Dragon Ball, Pokemon, and Sailor Moon all ...

Re: Would Dragon Ball be successful in English-speaking countries if the old English dubs weren't Americanized?
Was the Dragon Ball english dub even that Americanized really? They changed some names but it was mostly like simplifications like Kuririn to Krillin, Muten Roshi to Master Roshi that sort of thing. The big changes were the attack names like Makankosappo to Special Beam Cannon or Kienzan/Taioken/etc ...

Re: Would you ever want an as-yet-unwritten arc to end with the Dragon Team ganging up on the main villain?
Absolutely and now that we have Goku/Vegeta/Piccolo/Gohan at roughly equal strength as well as the secret weapon Broly, the stage is set for it better than ever. Buu through most of Super it's usually Goku and Vegeta doing everything and that's fine, and it makes sense in-universe because Goku and ...

Re: 15th Anniversary of the Kenji Yamamoto controversy.
The Budokai soundtrack is one of my favorite video game soundtracks ever. Those Steve Lukather guitars rip. And although I think Kikuchi still holds the crown when it comes to Dragon Ball scores, I think Yamamoto made an insane amount of progress in only like two years scoring the show and if he ...

Re: Where will the franchise go after Super?
I've heard on here a few times that Toyotaro and Toriyama's working relationship with the manga-only arcs was that Toyotaro did almost all the designs/writing/drawing, pretty much all of it, but he ran his ideas through Toriyama to make sure he was still maintaining the spirit of Dragon Ball. So if ...

Re: Where will the franchise go after Super?
Of course we have to see the Black Freeza arc resolve. They cannot just end it where the manga ends.
I would be interested in seeing some post-EoZ arcs. They can take place immediately after EoZ, with Uub being 10/11 and Pan being 4/5. I'd like more stories in the EoZ timeframe. GT skipping 5 years ...

Re: Is Post EoZ Content "Forbidden" Because of GT &/or EoZ serving as Toriyama's official epilogue?
I think Toriyama just liked writing the characters at their Buu arc ages and didn't show a big desire to go into the time that GT takes place. We even see him go back to Buu arc AGAIN with Daima.

Re: Which was the better sequel: GT, Super, or Daima ?
Well, GT is the only one of the 3 that's actually a sequel, the other 2 are side stories taking place before EoZ so GT wins by default. The end.
Jk lol. Out of these 3 possible timelines Super is the "correct" one to me.
GT is generally a mixed bag, I enjoyed the Black Star Dragon Ball arc and ...

Re: The TV Anime Series Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be broadcast on Fuji TV in the fall of 2026
This once again confirms that this remake/remaster is essentially Dragon Ball Super Kai and I'm completely here for it. Especially knowing that's how Toei referred to it internally. I think Super will shine cutting out all the filler-ish stuff. Imagine the U6 tournament ends and the very next ...

Re: Dragon Ball Genkida Matsuri 2026 DBS remaster, DBS galactic patrol arc, Age 1000 announced.
It would definitely be kinda silly to have Shin and Kibito defuse refuse defuse and refuse etc... It would give the continuity an even sloppier feeling than in generally has in Dragon Ball. Especially in this hypothetical scenario where we have SSJ3 Vegeta and SSJ4 Goku. Like, if you wanna go ...

Re: Hans Zimmer and a Dragon Ball live-action movie
They could do Dragon Ball, but it's tricky to navigate as far as like how to make it not look stupid. The One Piece live action is straddling the line it's kinda giving fanfilm at points but for the most part feels surprisingly well done for how demanding of a story it is. With One Piece the fact ...

Re: Dragon Ball Genkida Matsuri 2026 on january 25th will have Dragon Ball announcements
I seriously don't understand the reaction to this remaster.
For 10 years people made fun of Super's artwork, all those obnoxious episode 5 memes. The rushed artwork was always the main criticism levied at Super.
Now, finally, after 10 years, they're remastering Super to fix the artwork and ...

Re: Dragon Ball Genkida Matsuri 2026 on january 25th will have Dragon Ball announcements
I keep seeing the phrase "to remind audiences of what DBS is..." Who doesn't know what Dragon Ball Super is? Let alone what DB is. Is this refresher course really needed?
Wouldn't airing the movies on TV serve the same purpose and cut costs?
Making a new version causes a bigger hubbub. People ...

Re: "Dragon Ball New Project (AGE 1000)" Official Discussion Thread.
This is definitely Xenoverse 3 (or Xenoverse: insert subtitle here).
When they show a bunch of different DBZ characters before honing in on Goku and then the guy goes SS it made me wonder if maybe this is a Xenoverse type game where you can switch races (or simply transformations/moves from ...

All of it, starting with 6 episodes for BOG and 6 for RF.

New mode for SZ along with new characters, hopefully the people who were disappointed by that game will be satiated somewhat. I'm very excited! They even showed Champa!
Also it was great seeing Kageyama having fun up there, what a treat.

The logo having Galactic Patrol in it makes me wonder if Dragon Ball is transitioning to being a seasonal show? Like each arc from now on will be their own show? Or maybe that's just for the reveal/marketing.
