Re: Would you ever want an as-yet-unwritten arc to end with the Dragon Team ganging up on the main villain?
I mean, that's basically just the Tournament of Power arc with Jiren's defeat at the hands of Gokuu, Freeza and #17. I'd like more of that, but I want it to be part of a character arc for those characters. Gokuu's relationships with Freeza and #17 being a pretty big part of the Tournament of Power ...

Re: 15th Anniversary of the Kenji Yamamoto controversy.
This was so funny and surreal to see unfold. I hope that someone leaks all of the tracks that Yamamoto composed someday. They're such an interesting gem of history for Dragon Ball and I think we should be able to document them.

Democrats are not “diet MAGA”
The vast majority of their policies are just lesser versions of what the Republicans are doing. They may talk differently than Republicans, but when it comes down to the actual policies that impact people's lives, they're not too far behind. Newsom in California ...

Re: Beerus featured in US White House promo video
Serious question: when was the last time America deposing a foreign dictator actually worked out for the better? It sure as hell didn’t work when George W. Bush tried it.
I know that I'm preaching to the choir, but: America only does this shit to line the pockets of wealthy businessmen and/or ...

Re: Beerus featured in US White House promo video
Engaging with users who do not have anything serious to say about serious feeds back into that conservative psy op to make the world insane by making online discourse as toxic as possible. I think that's important to keep in mind and why I also think certain users should just be banned instead of ...

The Saiyan arc is 51 chapters in the manga, so that would be 5 chapters per episode; it would be way too fast. I don't know why people are in such a hurry to rush through everything, as it seems like anything that takes its time to flesh out its world and characters is automatically viewed ...

This video was made by and for...well...let's just say a certain word Gohan used in the Boo arc. Now, I rather not say this word in mixed company but it should be noted that curse words in Japanese don't necessarily have the same connotations. The word could be bluntly translated but it could also ...

Re: Beerus featured in US White House promo video
Toriyama has always written "political" stories. It's hard not to. Just read Pink, for example.
Big disagree. His "political themes" are never explored, if they are, it's super shallow and superficial, and merely set dressing for the actual things he wanted to write (gags, or sexual themed ...

Lighten up. Not everything is political. The old He-man and She-Ra cartoons weren't. They had social commentary and PSAs in them, but no politics. Same with Transformers, and all the older cartoons before them, including '90s cartoons. Thinking about literally everything through a ...

Re: Beerus featured in US White House promo video
On a side-note, this is the direct consequence of taking Dragon Ball as an apolitical, unserious work of art with terrible amoral protagonists and nothing to teach to its audience: Using its imagery as a display of dumb brute strength.
"Don't make your work political" is an argument I often ...

No one thought Ash would beat the Pokémon Leagues and no one thought Ash would get replaced as the main character, yet those things has recently happened.
The main character is Liko.
That's true but Pokémon is a different kind of franchise than DB. It started out as a video game that explores a ...

This behavior from a administration known for being backed by billionaires seeking to irony poison young people into becoming Nazis through the internet is not unexpected, but still upsetting. Re: Where will the franchise go after Super?
I still wonder how much general audience demand there would be for a DB remake or series focusing on characters not Goku. A DB remake would just be the same story with a newer animation style and more censorship. Kai was just remastering and recutting Z and apparently didn't perform that well ...

Re: Rank the arc endings
I don't really like assigning rankings to stuff because of stuff being in flux a lot of the time, but also because I don't want to turn my fandom into a competition like that. I'll try to just talk about my feelings on each arc:

Funnily enough, this attitude is why fans of Japanese animated projects based on Japanese comics deserve no respectThe Dark Knight wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 11:16 amThis is the kind of thing you say when you want to get hit by lightening.Kenji wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 10:13 amIn fact, they can enjoy Toyotaro's or Aya Matsui's approach better than Toriyama's.

I'm pretty sure that Kuririn dressing up as Piccolo was Koyama or Yamauchi making fun of the trope of Piccolo showing up to save Gohan.
