Re: How do you ''see'' the forum?

I think it's meant to be a place for academic discussion. It's certainly why I kept coming here for half my life (I was a fifteen year old girl when I joined and now I'm almost thirty). I think facts and a wide-variety of knowledge should always be the focus of a discussion forum. That isn't to say ...

Re: Endings

Wait what? This is news to me. Who got involved and fucked things up? Morishita Kouzou. He caused a lot of headaches early on in the planning. Kei's mentioned this publicly so I guess it's okay to just outright say it. Because of his high position in the company he seemed to have the standing to ju...

Re: Endings

Yeah, the movie version of the Beers arc is much better. I would like to keep in mind that a certain executive interfered with the TV version, though. This is why I believe it was not only written generically but also had such poor animation. Wait what? This is news to me. Who got involved and fuck...

Re: If Naruto was a Dragonball character, how far would he go?

The Saitama vs Boros fight had far less environmental destruction than any major DB fight. So this notion that Saitama "looked" stronger is ridiculous. The universal shockwaves from BoG were outright states and shown to come from Beerus and SSG Goku's powerful punches. So yes, it does say a lot abo...

Re: As a magical girl, is Brianne one of the strongest in the genre?

By default, I suppose? Being strong enough to keep up with Super Saiyans and Artificial Humans is definitely something else if we assume that they can destroy planets many thousands of times over.

Re: If Naruto was a Dragonball character, how far would he go?

It's hard to know. I don't watch/read Boruto so I don't know how strong Naruto is in there, but in the main series I don't know if he can beat even Raditz. With train I think he can be stronger than the humans but weaker than the saiyans. And about Saitama, IMO he is weaker than Goku and Vegeta (sa...

Kuririn Should Have Proactively Died to Protect Gokuu from Freeza

I was thinking yesterday that when Kuririn dies on Namek he is once again playing a passive role in his death. This felt very repetitive of his first death. It occurred to me that it would have been more fulfilling if Kuririn had taken a blast for Gokuu's sake, rather than just being killed intentio...

Re: Gohan 's "main character" status and Toei's fascination

Just seems like they were trying to be shrewd by fixing the focus upon the new child who was around the age of the intended audience. "Put thine child front and center and thine pockets will fill aplenty!" or something.

Re: Endings

The infinite cour series, like Sazae-san or even Pokemon has it's place but it's something that needs to be well-oiled on all levels of production to work out. I think Dragon Ball can certainly work as a Sazae-san or Pokemon-esque series but it needs to be well-oiled. Episodes need to have finished ...

Re: Another official manga by Dragon Garow Lee?!...

I would like to see Lee produce another official comic. I'm not sure how likely that is to happen, though. It seems like Lee takes a long time to draw, so the project would need to be pre-planned first. I hope Shueisha does that sometime.

Re: Dragon Ball and COVID-19

If my debatable Googling prowess is anything to go by the Philippines haven't been hit too hard by the virus yet. TAP--Toei Animation Philippines--is where a lot of Toei Animation work gets sub-contracted, especially on finishing and tweening. As a result, I wouldn't be surprised if we see TAP get m...

Re: What do you want with Broly?

Pokemon's animated franchise has grown up and matured tremendously, even if it's still aimed at children. And yet it's apparently not enough to keep the series' ratings and viewership from tanking to the point where they were called dismal as recently as Dec '18 and the home releases sales have onl...

Re: Dragon Ball and COVID-19

Most republicans certainly. And most democrats too. Sadly, corporate interests and money have found their way into almost every aspect and crevice of our electoral systems. Unfortunately, neither main political party is innocent of corruption and corporate influences. https://thehill.com/business-a...

Re: What do you want with Broly?

Pokemon isn't stalling out because they keep adding more lore and Pokemon to the series, they're stalling out because they've been shoving the exact same formula and stories into their anime and games for going on 30 years. That said, Pokemon itself isn't struggling with sales, just the anime is. T...

Re: Dragon Ball and COVID-19

Is this becoming the go-to politics thread, now that the Vic Mignogna thread is closed? If so, I’ll just say one thing before I leave: Bernie Sanders wouldn’t be able to beat Trump any better than Joe Biden could. Older Americans are terrified of the concept of socialism, and they’re the only relia...

Re: Dragon Ball and COVID-19

Unless bodies start hitting the ground around October or the Democratic Party nominee is Bernie Trump will win a re-election. His popularity with his base is unbreakable and both parties have done a great job of suppressing the left vote through gerrymandering and the primaries. Without the youth vo...

Re: Dragon Ball and COVID-19

It's up to each individual state to make their own rules to hold the line until (hopefully) Joe Biden can be voted in office. That's of course no small order, as that won't be until November, so having the white house and federal government working against them for 7+ months isn't going to be easy....

Re: What do you want with Broly?

The Killing Joke in all of its importance to those it inspired is now the one reason the only mainstream interpretation of The Joker is to make him a boring psychopath. Joker being a psychopath dates back to his inception before Comic Codes/pragmatism toned him down to prankster criminal clown. The...
