Well the last new OP animation was begin at episode 30 the last episode of Namek arc(sub arc) through the end of Freeza arc(main arc).so episode 57 the last episode of Trunks arc(sub arc) must be the beginning of new OP animation through the end of Android arc(main arc).

If at all, I'd see us getting a new opening animation in the next episode. I consider the Trunks stuff as the beginning of the Cell Arc, not the end of the Freeza Arc.

EDIT: But re-reading your post, my lack of regular watching of Kai is messing me up. If they didn't go to the second animation until the second half of the Freeza Arc, then maybe you're right.

Trunks has his own arc but it's a small arc.Freeza arc end at episode 54, not at the Trunks arc.

Well, Kanzentai, for example, includes it as part of the Freeza arc in their episode guide. I've always included it as part of the Cell arc.

But if you look the previous new OP animation beginning time. It's more possible my speculation would happen than your's.

It'd be pretty neat if Gohan's sword slash thingie in the intro was replaced with Trunks doing the same thing.

I think the new OP animation will be completely new from the start to the end.so it's possible for new OP song, although I don't want Dragon Soul will be replace(unless it's something 10x better :D )

Different pose? That would ruin the point. I want Trunks to replace Gohan so that the sword slash bit in the opening would be a homage to when Trunks killed Freeza.

Alright maybe not different pose, but I like if they show Freeza from the back and then Trunks slash Freeza from the the front and the screen also slash to two.

Yeah, I do that out of personal preference. But really, the Trunks arc could be included in either, but I don't want to break it up between the two so I just put it there, mostly because that's where Shueisha and Toei put it. Although I don't think there's really any correct place to put it though. It's just up to personal preference.

To be honest I don't know whether to put the Trunks mini-arc as part of the Namek/Freeza story or the Artificial humans one.
It literally ends one story while beginning another.

Think about it, though. Freeza's "second death" is not the end of the Freeza saga, nor is it its own thing. It's 100% Artificial Human saga. It's the opening, the setup.

MechaFreeza basically serves the same function as Raditz.

The reason why Freeza needed to come back and die again, and why it had to be Trunks who killed him, is to show how strong Trunks is in relation to the villain they just had so much trouble with, thereby establishing the power of the Artificial Humans and putting them into perspective. We needed to see Trunks turn the previous villain into swiss cheese without breaking a sweat so that we take him seriously when he talks about how bad ass these guys are who are coming.

People who complain that "MechaFreeza got killed too quickly/easily" aren't getting it. That was the whole point!

True, Freeza did kind of have to job to Trunks to set up the next arc.
It didn't bother me that Mecha-Freeza died so quickly, but I feel his Dad was kind of wasted.

King Cold was just a weird idea in general.

It's possible that Cold is actually supposed to be even stronger than Freezer. Freezer does mention to Goku that his father was able to make him bite the dust.

Therefore, not only Trunks easily kills Freezer, but he also kills someone who is possibly much stronger than Freezer, making him all the more impressive at that moment.

It is unknown if Freezer is only the equivalent of a kid for his race. Everyone notices that Cold is much taller and bigger, but that he actually looks like Freezer in his second form. It is possible that in his family they choose to have Cold constantly transformed into second form to have that size difference, reminding everyone (including themselves for respect) of who is the parent and who is the child. But I guess we'll never know for sure...
