I think that Fairly Odd Parents had a reference to it, but I forgot what episode it might have been. I think it was that remote control movie. I may be completely wrong, so don't take what I said as fact lol.

Not a parody per se but this is from Gintama and I thought it was pretty funny. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhhnN2Nlo28
Apparently Steven Universe is heavily inspired by anime like Dragon Ball (I haven't seen it yet), and I remember seeing somewhere that in some hospital scene there was a name plate on the wall and one of them was Dr. Gero. Also they have scouter-like things, I think.

Codename: Kids Next Door had an episode where they referenced DBZ. Pretty funny, actually.

I'm envious of you guys who can post links & whatnot. I'm not a computer-pro so I'll just say the name of anime
Sket Dance. A gag show used DragonBall reference quite often. Its not episode-to-episode basis, but some of their parodies can be rollickin fun
Bossun (shows lead) havin hair-cut similar to Goku & his subsequent "Osu" or Switch suddenly emulating Cell's "kanzentai...." or some random guy putting on a gorilla costume to which they said "GT~) was funny.

Pokémon X and Y has a 9000 reference. Just another reason to hate gen 6, just kidding but I really disliked gen 6 .
I have borderline personality disorder, if my posts ever come off as aggressive or word vomit-y to you, please let me know.

Re: Dragon Ball Parodies/Homages
Does web animation count if it's from an official company? Because there's a fair few DBZ references in the 'That's my Uncle!' anime spoof from RoosterTeeth. It's mostly a parody of anime in general, but between the bad guy's design appearing to wear Saiyan-esque armor (and looking a bit Cell-esque), a mention of 'Challenge Crystals' that when gathered will let you make a wish, Burnie-san's Super Saiyan transformation...
...Actually, a lot more of this is DB riffed than I remembered. The dialogue is defnitely more Speed Racer-ish though, and there's still riffs on Gundam and Sailor Moon too.

Sonic X also had Scouters, or things that were pretty much indistinguishable from them in appearance...Wezenheim wrote:Not a parody per se but this is from Gintama and I thought it was pretty funny. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhhnN2Nlo28

Apparently Chiaotzu got a shout-out/homage in Naruto. Pretty funny given how strange looking he is. Mask on the left side of the panel.

South Park parodied DBZ in the movie with Cartman's swearing powers. He had the thick eyebrows, the speedlines, and SSJ aura.
Freeza was also in a cameo for Imagination land.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Re: Dragon Ball Parodies/Homages
Mentioned this one quite awhile back in the giant Wuxia thread, but here it is again.
Wong Jing threw this little shout out into his bugfuck insane Future Cops (an utterly off its rocker and VERY early 90s Wuxia flick, ostensibly inspired by Street Fighter II). A few quick notes of Makafushigi Adventure punctuates the above giffed moment on the soundtrack.

Zephyr wrote:And that's to say nothing of how pretty much impossible it is to capture what made the original run of the series so great. I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.
