I liked one theory I read on this forum yesterday:

"Beerus' team wins the Tournament but Goku, being the GOAT person as he is, offers himself to search the Dragon Balls to wish that Champa's Earth go back to what it was before the War. Vados says this wish is too powerful to be made by the regular Dragon Balls. They mention the existence of the Super Dragon Balls and Goku + Vegeta go find them."

What do you think?

The problem with that theory is that Champa and Vados were up to something, they were even careful to not be noticed by Beerus or the Kaioshins from U7. Champa also said he had a little gift for Beerus...then next thing we know, they pay Beerus and Whis a casual visit like nothing happened. So they had something in mind even before they learned about their Earth, that's not what they wanted.

That crossed my mind, but i think not. The eggs he just brought from U6, while he said he had a gift for Beerus as he was leaving U7, like he just had took something, or leaving something behind..

You sure? I admit I haven't seen a proper translation that I fully trust for any of Chapter 4's new material (I asked Herms' about it, but he said he hasn't read it), but we do have two of them (Shonengamez summary & "gratuitous cursing group"), but both of them still have similar text. The first panel has Champa say they're going home, and the second has him saying that maybe he should get a gift for the next time they meet. That seems to fall in line with the food duel when he reappears in Chapter 5...

Yeah, Champa is weaker than Beerus, or at least that's how I interpreted Vados' mockery of Champa's physique compared to Beerus.

I took it the opposite, since Beerus is so scrawny. Based just on physique, shouldn't a bulky guy have the upper hand in a fight against a wire-thin guy?

Of course, either way there's no reason to assume that everything Vados says is accurate. She could be biased.

But Champa isn't really "bulky" in terms of muscle. He has a dad/beer belly and a pudgy face, but his arms are basically the same size as Beerus. Couple that with Champa apparently needing to sneak around under Beerus' radar, Vados' apparent mockery of his physique & Champa's reaction, as well as Champa suggesting that people from their universes fight instead of the two Hakaishin...

It's not a lot to go off of, but I think Beerus gets the implication of being stronger here.

Champa sneaking around to avoid Beerus means nothing in-terms of strength. Champa could very well be stronger than Beerus, but running into Beerus would simply cause unnecessary problems.

If he were stronger, then running into Beerus wouldn't be that big of a setback. He could just take a little while to put him out of commission and then he could go about his plans without interruption. Instead, he's sneaking around, facing setbacks by returning home for ~1 year to avoid detection, plotting distractions, etc.

What kind of "stronger" are you implying? Let's for the sake of argument that Beerus is a 10 and Champa is an 11. Champa is stronger, but that doesn't he's going to have an easy time or come out of it unscathed. It's simply easier to avoid him altogether.

If you're using Toriyama's "god scale", that 1 should be more than enough. Yes, he had more in reserve if he would have needed it, but Beerus at 7 was still capable of keeping SSG Goku's 6 at bay with more than enough ease.

*sigh* I'm not. I'm simply using a quick comparison. Simple terms then: Champa is stronger than Beerus, but not by much. Simply because someone is "stronger" than another person, I'm not entirely sure why you're going by the Ant VS A Dinosaur comparison. Someone can be stronger than someone, but still have trouble in a fight with someone weaker than them. It's kind of the basis of every climax in martial arts films. The main protagonist wins because, well, in the end they turned out to be stronger, but they came out of the fight with cuts and bruises and bleeding.

My point is, Champa could be stronger than Beerus, but I don't know why you're suddenly coming to the conclusion that simply because he's stronger, he's LEAGUES stronger, like twice that of Beerus. We don't know that yet. They simply hinted at Champa being stronger but while still not being certain. That tells me that if he IS stronger, it isn't by much.

I wouldn't rule it out, but..Kazuko Sugiyama doesn't get any role in a good while, and maybe she sounds too old for Valdo.

I was expecting some big names for them, since Beerus and Whis are voiced by prolific and popular voice actors.

We've known since pretty much the beginning of DB that physical appearance has virtually nothing to do with actual power as it is measured and used in the Dragonball Universe. The manipulation of one's Ki is what matters, regardless of the size and/or appearance.

Exactly. Beerus seems to be much more straight-forward, proud and self-confident than Champa, who plots and schemes. Plotting and scheming instead of jumping to a fight is a potential sign of weakness, or lack of self-assuredness. It's just one more reason to be almost sure, by now, that regardless of how Vados and Whis stack up against each other, Beerus is indeed above Champa (thankfully).
