I got the game today. Only been playing it for a few hours & lovin' it so far. I'll put my friend code after getting some considerable game time. I'm a bit noobish to the DS, but you have to get an adapter to play others online correct?

Is the DS region free?(How do you make DS "plural"?)

I'm poor so I dont really play the second game to a series until i beat the first. I'm currently playing Jump Superstars and my favorite techniques to use consist of Goku and Naruto using their "Spirit Bomb-Rasengan" and also, using Train from BlackCat, fire his huge plasma laser cannon while unleeshing Gokus' Kamehameha wave (I appologize if Kamehameha is wrong) and hits double damage. I understand Ultimate Stars has an "Evolution Cycle" I cant wait to try it!

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

Yes, it does. You earn "Gems" and evolve characters like that. But you can still use the older ones. Also, Ultimate Stars is a tad bit slower, but you'll get used to it. Also, incase you wanted to know, in Japanese it's called the Genki Dama. (^^)Rioan wrote:I'm poor so I dont really play the second game to a series until i beat the first. I dont really like it being so slow, but i hope it makes up for it in graphics and the Wi-Fi addition!Oh, and arigatou for the pronunciation, Payne222.

Also, *hinting to Mike or Julian to read* there should be a DaizEX Jump Ultimate Stars tournament! That'd be so sweet to have like 20+ people in the ultimate showdown on Wi-Fi!

I'd be up for a tourney. I haven't played much Jump Ultimate Stars in the last week or so, so it would be awesome if we had a tournament to get me back into shape. Last time I played I was working on the ultimate deck. I've forgotten most of what I had done to create the ultimate deck so I guess I'm going to postpone it for a while. Thats what I've been doing with my copy of JUS. And having 20+ DS games doesn't help the cause either.

Wow, been a while since anyone's posted in here. Has anyone been really active with the game? I doubt I can expect an answer but the Jump Ultimate Stars review Podcast should *crosses fingers* be coming out tomorrow.
Hopefully that will bring about some degree of revival with it on these forums =P

Well, not too many people have the game (let alone completed) I assume. From what I understand, GameFAQs do some sort of organized fighting system over there. I actually finished the game but with my next semester coming up, I probably won't have time to play it like I did over break..

Ok, someone has to help me. I'm losing sleep over this. I've been stuck for over a week now at this level. Planet X, Boss Tower. Mission 4. IMPOSSIBLE. I don't know if I'm a big n00b, but I only a small amount of time to beat SSJ Goku and Ryo-san, who block almost everything I do. They pwn me, or I simply can't beat them. What do I do to win? What characters should I use? For the love of God, someone help me!
Edit: I beat it. Funny story. I learned how to buy new characters. I went through the almost the entire game with 4 Koma Luffy and Naruto.

Well, I just got the game yesterday (and spent every dollar I had buying it. Curse these import games being $50!). Anyways, I like the gameplay so far, except for that whole pause when landing on the ground thing. I'm sure that'll be more annoying in the later levels.
As for the whole language barrier, I was surprised to find that that isn't that big of a problem. For the missions I've done so far, I just have to fight to accomplish at least one of the goals. And of course, there's always online guides to help me out when I don't know what the hell to do (like in the HunterXHunter level where you had to knonk down all the walls).
I've also got a pretty noobish question: How come I can't see my own friend code? Am I just not far enough into the game?

Well, most of us used the GameFAQs guide and I think they gave a hint for that level. What I did was go straight to a wall (with the kid in green) and pressed Y again and again. I went straight to one of the springs and did it again (pressing Y repeatedly). After that, I changed to Killua(sp) and fell off the ledge on purpose pressing Y right after. Now this is tricky because when you do this with him, his yo-yo not only breaks the wall but pushes you back on the platform. It sounds weird but that's what I did and that breaks a portion of the wall. From there you change characters again and do the Y thing again and again. If do this right, like I did, you should beat the mission. I'd like to point out that I did this in mission mode not too long ago and did it in 00:52:37DaemonCorps wrote:And of course, there's always online guides to help me out when I don't know what the hell to do (like in the HunterXHunter level where you had to knonk down all the walls).

From the main menu, go to the third menu from the top. From there, look at the left side and press down. After that, press right and then press A. Then, you will see four choices click the third one that shows a DS. If that doesn't work, try re-setting your wi-fi settings and check again.DaemonCorps wrote:I've also got a pretty noobish question: How come I can't see my own friend code? Well, the third option is put in gray, so I can't press it. I'm guessing I've gotta set up my wi-fi settings first? I know I've got wireless available, so that won't be a problem. (Now there's just the little matter of some homework to finish up beforehand :/...)Mr.Piccolo wrote:From the main menu, go to the third menu from the top. Well I've seen a couple of really nice JUS book things (I'm guessing it's a strategy guide) on eBay, though I'm not so sure about a new DS.
After playing a handful of random wifi battles, I noticed that some battle characters have komas way higher than I have available for those same characters. What do I have to do to get those higher koma? Normally, there'd be an empty box with a question mark in it if the character has another koma level more, but that doesn't seem to be the case with some of the higher characters.

Sometimes, you have to earn more characters from the series your battle character is in. Example: If you wanted to expand Vegeta, you'd have to use your jems on Bulma or Trunks (I think), then you'll see question marks again to expand Vegeta.DaemonCorps wrote:After playing a handful of random wifi battles, I noticed that some battle characters have komas way higher than I have available for those same characters.
