Toonami. I never saw the whole series on Toonami but I did own every single PS2 DBZ game so that helped me a great deal in filling in the blanks.

Re: How were you introduced to the series?
First time i saw anything DB was the Super NES games back in '93 or so. Then my first contact with the original Dragon Ball anime was a dub in '95. Since i only knew Piccolo from the games (in Japanese), i thought Pilaf was his kid version at the time.
In '97 i started putting my hands on english-subbed tapes of some DBZ movies, through the help of older friends. And here i am, always a fan ever since.
I still remember some classic websites from back then, like Wuken's mp2 collection. Those were the days!

Re: How were you introduced to the series?
Early 2000s via Cartoon Network - Began watching the late Freeza arc just before the first airing of the Cell/Androids arc. I believe I saw all of Z through its Toonami broadcast, and Dragon Ball through a combination of its Toonami broadcast and FUNimation's DVD releases. GT I wound up seeing mostly via the DVD singles for the first time, though I'd managed to see some of it via fansubs before its U.S. release. Didn't wind up watching much of its Toonami broadcast as I found the localization so abysmal.

Through an early morning children's show called "Cheez TV", which started airing FUNimation's dub in Australia during 2000. I have these VHS recordings from 2000 with the Ocean voiced Namek Saga, so those were probably the first episodes i ever saw. I was real young back then, so i'm pretty sure it was just me watching whatever my older brother thought was cool.

Ultimate Battle 22. Dad bought me a ps1 and the game as well in 2003. Then I found an episode on toonami only for it to be the last one

DBZ ended after the Frieza Saga.Goku wrote:You haven't figured it out yet? I'm the Saiyan who came all the way from Earth for the sole purpose of beating you. I am the warrior you've heard of in legends, pure of heart and awakened by fury. That's what I am. I AM THE SUPER SAIYAN, SON GOKU!

Re: How were you introduced to the series?
Original Dragon Ball on one channel in my country in early 2000s.
Re: How were you introduced to the series?
Early morning broadcast television. One of the local channels would air Z with Sailor Moon from 6 am to 7 on weekdays. My brother and I got up every morning to watch both before getting ready for school. They would always rerun Ocean's first season or so as this was about '96 or '97. Good times.
Re: How were you introduced to the series?
Started with Dr. Slump on tapes I was getting from Japan. Then DB started. Didn't particularly like it so I had it removed from my list of shows to be recorded. Picked back up on it when it started to get rebroadcast in Hawaii with English subs about 1992. Have been a fan ever since...

I lived in Japan from the ages of 5-8. I saw DB and DBZ, but it was in Japanese. I couldn't speak the language but I liked the animation. I played a few of the video games and I had a few trading cards, so I knew of it. Around 96, I was flipping channels looking for Saturday morning cartoons and found what looked like the show I saw when I was in Japan and heard the name Goku. I was a fan ever since.

I watched DB when I was a kid on TV but didn't like it. I was properly introduced to the series a few years ago by a friend. Boring story, I guess.

Re: How were you introduced to the series?
By this annoying TV show on RTL II, which had trailer with some dinosaur guy in trenchcoat kicking a shaolin monk and weird dark atmosphere and green guy powering for half the episode in-between commercials to blow up the island he is on leaving it on cliffhanger. And then the Digimon were going on finally!
That's how I was introduced to Dragon Ball
Fortunately, I gave it a chance after seeing the Buu arc on RTL7. Damn, I was all in!

The Freeza arc was rerunning the summer of 2001 on Toonami and I liked it; I then went on to watch the Buu arc, and the entirety of the original Dragon Ball series, and then GT, in real time. Somewhere in there the Cell arc was squeezed in. I can't remember where. Also insert Hamtaro, YuYu Hakusho, the various Tenchis, Rurouni Kenshin... There was also a period, probably a few years later in the summer rerun "off-period" of TV(at least back then) when Toonami was literally just three hours of original DB from 3-6 PM. What a time.
I guess the first time I was truly aware of the show was a few years before that. My friends wanted to play "Dragon Ball Z" at recess and I didn't know what that was.

Re: How were you introduced to the series?
My first exposure was the 95 DB dub, but I hardly paid much attention to it as a kid, just another one of those shows I'd catch here and there (revisionist history shows me it didn't even last long anyway). So when I first watched The Arrival of Raditz, my real fandom began.

Re: How were you introduced to the series?
Downloaded a Broly wallpaper for my laptop since it looked really cool... and I found out that the wallpaper was from Dragon Ball so I went to watch it on Nicktoons in 2010 and my first episode was Goku vs Vegeta. Ahhh the memories
Surprisingly I don't really like Broly that much after I watched the movies with him but here was the wallpaper.

Got to admit it, that wallpaper looked so "Mondo Cool" even if it was fan made.

September 1999. I was waiting for the next episode of The Dreamstone - I got the first episode of Dragon Ball instead. I was hooked in since first seconds.

Re: How were you introduced to the series?
Around 1998 when I was 5 years old, I walked past my grandpa's TV and the intro for the first Dragon Ball episode started airing. I clearly remember the mountains, an Asian looking boy with a tail flying around with his damn cloud. Since then, I continued watching from Dragon Ball episode 1 - Dragon Ball Z end. Damn great times, I still remember a few years later how excited I was when the preview for Dragon Ball Z started.
Like some of you guys, I watched it on the German channel RTL2 too. I feel blessed I got to experience the whole thing, from the beginning till the end, no internet, no spoilers, no books, no starting from Dragon Ball Z. Great times indeed.

Re: How were you introduced to the series?
Back in 1998. I was supposed to be asleep but I was up late watching Cartoon Network. I think that animated Batman cartoon finished airing when they said "don't go away, Dragon Ball Z" is next. I was thinking "I've never heard of that cartoon before," so I was curious and stayed up to watch it. From then on, I tried to stay up late enough to watch it or, if I ended up falling asleep, I tried to catch it after school.
I also remember being so confused a few months later when everyone's voices had suddenly changed, along with the music.

I can't remember the details, but I do recall my brothers watching the namek saga on toonami and I was curious to see what it was. We also had a lot of amv's and clips in japanese and english.
