Bardock Special English Fandub

Hey, guys! I know I'm a little late for the anniversary of the original special, but my fandub group is working on a more accurate dub of the Bardock special and we're really close to wrapping up! Here's a preview clip if you're interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18MJ5Fe6jpk

Like with my previous dub, there are 2 versions in both MP3 and FLAC. Like last time, no video because we don't condone piracy when the official version is available. With the last dub, I did eventually release the video on YouTube since it didn't have a US release at the time (and still hasn't as of this writing), but with this time there's no excuse since Funimation has released the special on DVD and Bluray. Please use your own legally purchased video!

Version 1 has Japanese terms/pronunciations while Version 2 has the dub terms/pronunciations. However, Toma's name is retained in both versions since the dub name change makes no sense and can be ignored since the special is self-contained enough to not create continuity issues by retaining his name. The same would have been done for Selypa, Totapo, and Panbukin had their names been mentioned in the special, but they aren't so it's a non-issue. Enjoy!

Glad that the mic switch isn't too noticeable with Freeza considering the recordings were over a year apart.

I did put an appropriate reverb effect on all lines inside the spaceships just to be safe, but yeah, your recordings worked rather well despite the time gap.

I just hope my lines turned out well. I noticed a minor goof with the 'pretty fireworks' line, there's a click noise after the line must've forgot to edit that before sending it to you.

It's actually a breath of fresh air to hear your version after hearing the one I've been putting together for a while now and it's interesting to compare our script adaptations haha. Also, nice additions of the English Cha-la and an awesome English cover of Hikari no Tabi. Personally I'm just using the original versions for mine so it was a nice bonus to include those. Some immediate voice standouts to me were Zarbon, the Kanassan "Tooro", and of course Bardock, among others. Also SSJ4 Furanki's Ryusei Nakao snicker is really spot on it's creepy he really surprises me every time.

But all in all, super job man! It takes many months to do these big full-movie projects so I'm glad to hear all of your hard work paid off. I'm sure once mine is finished I'll post it on the forum as well!

I'm really glad you enjoyed it, man! It's funny that you mentioned The Kanassan (didn't know he had a name; guess I should've looked to see if he had one!), Zarbon, and Bardock as the standout roles to you because they're all played by the same guy! And yes, Furanki was awesome as usual. His Freeza is always fun to hear, and he only gets better with each performance. Can't wait to hear Pgirts in yours, though! His stuff is also amazing. I'm also glad you liked the English Hikari no Tabi! I had the Bardock actor give the male part of the song a shot, and IMO he did pretty well for a non-formally trained singer. Of course, this dub would be nothing without you and Ryusuke (ConfusedPhantom) chipping in with your awesome Nappa and Vegeta performances. I couldn't think of actors that would be better suited for those parts, so I can't thank you enough for you guys' help in that regard despite being hard at work on your version of the special. I can't wait to see it; you're bound to have some awesome talent on board, and it'll be tons of fun comparing how you handled the script in your version!

Been doing fandubs since '07/'08 at this point and practiced the hell out the laugh. I like to retain it since that laugh is perfect at subtly showing how much of a pompous asshole Freeza truly is.
