Am I imagining things or has the forum suddenly grown in its number of members?

I know what you mean. It's seen a steady growth, to be sure. But I think it's just that a lot of the older members aren't posting as much.

I've lurked since mid 2004, then joined 2005 and have only really started posting recently as my relatively small Dragonball knowledge isn't as hmm... conspicuous compared to a year/year and a half ago, as there seems to be far more 'new-to-the-series' fans on here these days.

The podcast and the recent merchandise including all of the games that came out recently may have something to do with it. I realized that there was a forum only after hearing it in the podcast.. ^^; Was this thread made to say that this is a bad thing (new members)? :| *Notices how people sign up and never post; wishes he was user 1337*

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.

I'm still around, it's just that over the past year I gained my "fandom" for Dragon Ball back and was really into it again. Now, I'm just kind of burned out on it. It'll probably come back to me in a few months though, always does.

My fandom came back due to my recent purchase of DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 2. I love the game to death. Sure, its not perfect, but its the best DBZ game on the market today.

I've been around since this site started (49th to register at the forum!)...I just tend to take a break every now and then.

It's good that a lot of new members are coming, some new questions are being asked that haven't been asked before, but at the same time though there is a lot of new members posting things that have been coverd and they haven't looked for it.

Hah I mean some people have even posted a topic which has already been posted in just the previous page, another thing is that some people just post for posting sake and sometimes necropost. Sorry rambling...

Anyways, I found daizex a while ago. I think I went there a few times nabbed a few screen shots (not to link them anywhere else but for things like avatars and personal usage). I then went on a bit more regulary. I liked the layout of the site and especially this picture,

I then found out the place had a podcast, listened to it for a while and joined the forum, since then I have stopped listening to the podcast but still like the site and the forum.

[Edit: Whoo sorry I read that back and it's totally off topic, so yeah I'll go with it's gettng stuffy. :) ]

I'm not really a veteran, but I'm going to post a lot here, because I love forums that have many people with different opinions. Our forum at www.soulsocietyex.com isnt very big (consists of 8 registers) so here I can consult with a larger mass. But i bet this forum starsed off pretty slow and then snowballed, right?

Haha, Tyler, have are you even used to posting on a big forum? I joined at the beginning of December because I used to translate .hack//XXXX for The Hunters of Liberation (a .hack forum), and they all acted so, stupid. I checked out this forum (I was introduced to the site a few years ago) and saw that the members were good people, and I joined.

I'm relatively new, but I like how unlike other DBZ forums that have pretty much died off, this one still has an active posting rate. I can still refresh the page within five minutes of making a post and see a reply, whereas elsewhere it would probably take a whole day just for one.

Exactly. Regardless that there isn't as many mambers online at the same time as say a Bleach or Naruto forum, I'd say that this forum has done pretty good to withstand um... time.

More on topic, I think everyone can agree that there are times when no new users sign up, then there's the time when there's this sudden spurt of new users poppin' up. Is this bad? Eh, I don't like to think so. I mean, in a way, I guess it's a good thing that there are more and more users who've found this forum as well as the DB fandom.

Yeah. The DBZOA (which I assume you still remember 8) ) has gone to the dogs now. It's only active forum is general discussion and even that is full of pointless unfunny crap. I miss UKDB and Ocean DB as well I wish they were still around.

I'm still in shock at the recent realization that I registered over 2 years ago.

This place has good staffing, great rules, interesting members, and a focus on Dragonball instead of having 1,000+ boards for every topic of discussion imaginable, as so many message boards feel the need to include.

Been a fan of this site for quite some time. I visited it when it was "Vegetto EX's Home Page" but then went on to other fansites like Dragoball Unlimited. I found Daizenshuu EX two years ago and lurked. I didn't visit much though until the past year when I joined the forums in February 2006. Then I realized "HOLY CRAP! There is a podcast!?" when it was already almost a year old. Still I geuss I can enjoy listening to the older podcasts as well as the new ones (I love the one where Maggie from "Lovely Cyborg" shows up 8) ).

Iv'e noticed an influx of new members all the time. Sadly a lot of them are either "internet ghosts" and lurkers or they just never find the time to post. :(

This site is probobly still up for one good reason- we all still love Dragonball! Since i stated watching cartoons when i was little, i always had a new favorite if i liked it over the other. Tom and Jerry was pretty coll- till Dexters lab came on. Same for Manga( i dont really watch those cartoons) and anime. You like Yu Yu Hakusho for a while, then its Full Metal Alchemist, rhen Inu Yasha,( not in any particular order...) and so on and so forth. But, in all my years of being a fan, i never switched. I stayed loving DragonBall always. Because DBZ isnt an Anime- its a way of life! (you may quote me now)
