Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
HOLY SHIT! I'm gone for a bit and my boy Piccolo Joins the fray!?!??!?! HOLY CRAP! I'M IN! I'M IN!!! *Hype to the max*
Just read the chapter, It was great! my biggest highlight is that the prep for the tournament is going really well with everyone doing a bit! even Bulma, Jaco and Tights, I'm happy with this, in dbz we usually only got introduced to villains and nothing else, and other supporting characters were useless. Now it seems everyone is helping, I'm more than happy that we got a good team that's not the usual saiyan fest stuff.
Also, has anyone noticed that Vegeta is noticeably warmer to Goku?. In the start of Super he barely said a word to Goku, then they become student partners and atleast Vegeta show him the ropes, now they just chill and talk about their wives. These guys are bros!.

I made a thread in the general section saying the Cell saga did just this, it utilized almost the entire supporting cast well outside of Goku.Black_Liger wrote: Just read the chapter, It was great! my biggest highlight is that the prep for the tournament is going really well with everyone doing a bit! even Bulma, Jaco and Tights, I'm happy with this, in dbz we usually only got introduced to villains and nothing else, and other supporting characters were useless. I don't think this is the same, since major characters like Gohan and Krillin are being left out, not to mention Trunks and Goten...let alone the others like Android 18, Tien, Yamcha, etc. Its definitely not as good as it could be.

*Remembers Cell Saga, were everyone had shining moments, but got their asses kicked the rest of the time, then compares it now, that most of the cast has been used well fending against an army in a war, now they rest while other support characters go into an adventure to get something of major importance to this arc*
Umm... how about no. I do like Cell saga, but this has much better flow and doesn't forget about adventure. I like this!.

Fending off a bunch of weaklings and nobodies. I don't know who'd be really impressed by that. They might as well have been beating up toddlers as their boss knew this entire fight was a complete waste of time.Black_Liger wrote:precita wrote:I made a thread in the general section saying the Cell saga did just this, it utilized almost the entire supporting cast well outside of Goku.Black_Liger wrote: Just read the chapter, It was great! my biggest highlight is that the prep for the tournament is going really well with everyone doing a bit! even Bulma, Jaco and Tights, I'm happy with this, in dbz we usually only got introduced to villains and nothing else, and other supporting characters were useless. Better than getting kicked around by new born midget and sterile cell copies. :3dbzfan7 wrote: Fending off a bunch of weaklings and nobodies. I don't know who'd be really impressed by that. Nah I'd rather get my ass kicked by a credible threat like a black belt 7 year old, rather than beat up a bunch of little bitch ass mooks. If I lose I lose to a credible threat. When I win I feel empty cause I beat bitch ass losers who anyone else and their grandmother could beat.Black_Liger wrote:Better than getting kicked around by new born midget and sterile cell copies. :3dbzfan7 wrote: Fending off a bunch of weaklings and nobodies. Before, it was..
"I hate how everyone get their ass kicked"
Now it's...
"Fuckshittard everyone's doing good in battle for a change i hate it"
Seriously... the new stuff right here is not bad at all. I don't know what you guys expect.

I just hope the anime will not f... things up. Make all the fights a fight to remember. Let there be emotions and stuff. A very angry Goku in team Beerus. Vegeta not having emotions (Saiyan saga )
And please very good music. I prefer to keep the dbs soundtrack Terror (Beerus saga) especially at 0:50 it gives me the chills.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Why would Goku be angry and Vegeta be emotionless?
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
We'll get what we've been getting since the show started which is bad animation, boring fights, forced childish jokes&a story full of filler.Pannaliciour wrote:I just hope the anime will not f... things up. Make all the fights a fight to remember.
A movie adaption on the other hand would be great cause they won't have time to wast on filler and childish jokes so the story will be put together a lot better and the fights will have the same level of animation&choreography that's in BOG&RF.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Just like SSJ2 Vegeta too. Well, I guess he still has an advantage over SSJ2-tiersLord Beerus wrote:He held his own against Kid Boo in the manga, and Kid Boo was SSJ3-tier in strength.Noah wrote:I wonder if he as Mr. Boo is still a above a SSJ2-Tier
I think that this track and this track still need to make its debut in DBSPannaliciour wrote:And please very good music. I prefer to keep the dbs soundtrack Terror (Beerus saga) especially at 0:50 it gives me the chills.

That's not what people are saying at all. Maybe if you actually tried to understand people's points instead of creating your own version of their argument they'd see that."Fuckshittard everyone's doing good in battle for a change i hate it"
Things are a lot more nuanced than whether the characters are winning or losing, so it's not as simple as saying fans are unhappy because people are winning now.
No idea is so perfect it can't be botched by the writing. The decision to have side characters be involved again may be popular, but when it's against enemies who don't matter to the plot and are so far beneath the main players than the whole thing is just pointless.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

How exactly was Gohan, Piccolo, Kuririn, Tenshinhan, Kame-sennin, and Jaco useless in FnF? They bought time for Goku & Vegeta to come to Earth, which saved the Earth from Freeza, and as a plus, we saw cool fighting scenes. Toriyama made them useful, and did fan-service as well.dbzfan7 wrote:Yep you're getting it. What you are saying would apply in other cases, like Yamcha winning in the preliminaries of the Tenkaichi Budokai. But in this case, Gohan & co. saved the Earth until the arrival of Goku & Vegeta.

But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Their "contribution" is entirely pointless because 1) Whis and 2) Namekian Dragon Balls, both those things make Freeza killing them or killing them & destroying the Earth a complete non-issue and their stalling for time pointless. In a non shit version of F, the writer would've gotten rid of both these things to create proper tension but Toriyama couldn't be arsed. I'd barely even call it good fan service since one sided curb stomps are boring as shit and are a poor substitute for giving each fighter an actual challenge to face.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:How exactly was Gohan, Piccolo, Kuririn, Tenshinhan, Kame-sennin, and Jaco useless in FnF? When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

By that logic, Goku & Vegeta didn't save the Earth from Golden Freeza because even if Freeza had killed them & destroyed the Earth, Whis or the Namekians would have brought them back. Beerus was never a threat, because the Namekians would have brought them back. Goku didn't save the universe from Majin Boo, because the Namekians would have brought Goku or Gohan back again if Goku's Genki Dama had failed. Gohan didn't save the universe from Cell, because the Namekians would have brought everyone back if Gohan & the Earth was destroyed, and then Gohan at full power would have killed Cell.ekrolo2 wrote:Their "contribution" is entirely pointless because 1) Whis and 2) Namekian Dragon Balls, both those things make Freeza killing them or killing them & destroying the Earth a complete non-issue and their stalling for time pointless. Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Essentially yes, if the heroes failed at any point after Namek they'd have just been wished back and gotten infinite do-overs. There is no tension knowing they've got connections in the after life and in the living realm both of which they can abuse to ultimately win in the end. That's why the movie should've had Namek get destroyed which easily could've been done by having Freeza just use the Earth DBs to teleport him to Namek, destroy it then have Sorbet wish him back to Earth.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:By that logic, Goku & Vegeta didn't save the Earth from Golden Freeza because even if Freeza had killed them & destroyed the Earth, Whis or the Namekians would have brought them back. I know you and others did, I didn't. One sided curb stomps are pretty terrible when they're overwhelmingly on the side of the good guys.
