My favorite transformation is:

Re: What is your favorite transformation?
Do you mean forms or transformation sequence?
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

Re: What is your favorite transformation?
I know I've posted this before somewhere, but SSJ2 easily, though it's mostly due to the context in which it is presented.
There's a long, gratifying buildup of the saiyans trying to achieve an unbelievable paradigm of power which is elaborated on beautifully over the unsatisfactory grade forms. After such a long trial of sacrifice and suffering, it all just explodes with Gohan in a beautifully cinematic event...and then, it's subtle. It's sooo subtle it's fucking gorgeous, it's the ultimate anti-shounen moment and I absolutely love it. When talking about superheroes and other supernatural stuff, I adore "condensed" power, something so terrifyingly strong in an oddly small package. Gohan becomes this lean, angry badass who just tanks everything and beats Cell for his god damned lunch money. It's also unique in that at no other point in the entire series, or even the franchise itself, do we get to see an extrapolated, one-sided ass beating by the hero on a villain who we've had plenty of time to grow a stern hatred for.
Nevermind the fact that when we finally get to see the grand rematch between Goku and Vegeta, there it is again.

My favorite transformation in terms of appearance is Super Saiyan Blue, it mixes the iconic Super Saiyan look with my favorite color and pulls it off fantastically. My favorite transformation is Super Saiyan, I mean, I think everyone can understand why. My favorite transformation sequence belongs to Gohan's Super Saiyan 2 though, despite me thinking it's honestly the worst main Super Saiyan transformation in the entire series.

Kaio~ken! ヽ(・∀・)ノ
I love how cool it looks, the fact that it's dangerous to use (Gokû talks about if he does it wrong he could mess himself up.) the multipliers for it, its brief window of execution.
Ssjg is the cutest transformation imo, but kaio-ken is the coolest.

Re: What is your favorite transformation?
I'll go with 4 as my favorite since its the only one that feels like it had any thought put into how its attained and feels like a natural evolution of the Oozaru where as every other form is just a weird recolor of hair.

For a runner up, I'll go with Blooper since it pops better than the regular SSJ plus I like its aura better.

As far as design, I enjoy Super Saiyan Blue.
In terms of concept, I also liked the Kaio-ken. I liked the idea of a power boost that actually had consequences for using it and how you could actually choose your multiplier. SSJ3 is similar in that it has consequences, but I've personally never enjoyed the design of it at all.

Re: What is your favorite transformation?
As far as an individual sequence is concerned, Pure Evil Buu becoming Evil Buu after he's eaten the Mr. Buu chocolate bar is absolutely chilling. Goku's original SS transformation on Namek is good, too, natch.
I guess for the transformations themselves, I like Super Saiyan 1. It's never consistent, but i like the idea that SS1 is less detailed and more "humanly" blonde; basically how it's presented in Movie 5 or most of the Cell arc. SS2 is of course more angled and detailed, occasionally has some lightning sparks flying about, and is a much harder gold.

Super Saiyan Blue is currently my favourite transformation. The design just carries such a mystique about it that no other transformation has.

Re: What is your favorite transformation?
My favorite transformation (not "form") is when Pure Evil Buu transforms into Super Buu.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Re: What is your favorite transformation?
Favorite form is SSJ2. It doesn't look as ridiculous as SSJ3 and I like how it's a sharper version of SSJ1. My favorite transformation is Gohan SSJ2 against Cell.
