Which is currently in the works... Anyway, I have also purchased the First Strike set and I was wondering if Eclipse wanted to divide up the writing in a certain way. Either that or we could both write up a complete script and edit for consistency.

I really like the "Let That Planet Alone!" title but I do get the feeling we should be a little more serious about it. "Battle for the Earth" could work but, I mean, isn't that like every movie?

Cool. We three should get in touch and decide how we're gonna do it. But it looks like you and I will be doing most of the drawing, and Nathan will be doing the layout and titles.

Actually, since you had volunteered for scriptwriting help, I was going to try and get in touch with you and everyone else who had done so. Eclipse has had to hang up his scriptwriting for certain reasons (the rental movie was due back, heh), so he already gave me what he had done so far, and it looked like the scriptwriting responsibilities have fallen mostly upon me, now. But if you (and anyone else who had volunteered) would like to make it a joint effort, then by all means.

Yeah, I know, it's just a joke. "Battle for Earth" is good because it's a condensed, yet still catchy, version of the original Japanese title, which is why I and several others are leaning towards it.

...Now all I need is some sign of life from Kino, and we can get back to voice casting...

Actually, I like what Mr. Announcer's suggested. It'd be cool if she could work on what I currently have, then you, Mr. Kaboom can do a little touchups here and there =) But what did you think of it, anyways? Was it any good?

Hmm...Godly Battle for Planet Earth
One Final Battle for Earth

By the way, Mr.Announcer, did you like my audio edits? Cha-La Head Cha-La?

Sounds good to me. You up for that, Mr. A?

...And yes, it was very good so far.

I've decided "Battle for the Earth" should be our working title. It's subject to change, should anything significantly better pop into anybody's brain, but it's the best we've been able to come up with so far.

Why don't you do a vote on it the same way we chose the movie.

(Though I'm thinking it will swing to ''Let That Tree Alone'').

I was thinking that, too. But with picking the movie, we had a few solid, definite choices, whereas of now, we've only managed to muddle around and come up with one or two names...

Also, who's our video editors again? I believe it's Quantum Destiny and Steven Perry, right? Well, guys, capsuleman, our footage provider, would like to know what format would be best for him to rip the footage for you. Either get in touch with me or him about it, 'kay?

You still up for being the sound guy?

While we're on that subject, should I assume you have the proper software or equipment to clean up people's recordings a bit, if need be?

Yeah, I use adobe audition...it does pretty much everything we'll need it to do. Are all the parts cast? o_o

A-hah. I'm somewhat familiar with that program. Nice. But just warning you, you might have a decent amount of work ahead of you. A lot of auditionees have some talent, but suffer from microphonus crappus.
Tenken wrote:Are all the parts cast? o_o
Not yet, unfortunately. I've been desperately trying to get a hold of Kino so that she, Rick, Jack and I can conference and decide on casting. But she's not responding to any of my e-mails, PMs, and the like. Worse comes to worse, we might have to pick someone else to fill in for her if she doesn't give some sort of word in the next day or two. We really can't wait too much longer, lest people begin losing serious interest in the project.

:!: ATTENTION! Also, I'm sorry to announce that Quantum Destiny has been forced to drop out from his position as a major video editor, leaving Steven Perry the only one with this job. Hopefully QD will still be able to help out a little bit, but this still means that we could use a little more help in this regard. I'm not sure if anyone else had expressed a desire to help out with Video Editing, but if anyone would like to help fill the gap here, then please do so if you can.

:!: Somewhat similarly, I'm happy to announce that Conan is willing and has been signed on to put together a little trailer for the project. Once Kino shows up and we finally decide on and announce the cast, he and I will put together some sort of small script for that, and it'll be the first thing we record for. That's good, because it'll provide some extra practice for our VAs.

Come to think of it, Conan, would you be willing to help out with the video editing on the main movie after the trailer?

:!: Also, I've decided on a title for the movie. The best we've been able to come up with is "Battle for Earth," in the style of the original Japanese title.

:!: One thing we do still have to decide is what we'll be doing for Cha La Head Cha La in the beginning. I'm leaning towards having our own Mr.Announcer sing it, if she's still willing, and having Tenken clean up her recording and sync it with the music.

...And last but not least, I'd like to direct your attention to my post count.

I'd be up to it, I'm sure our young pal from the UK, Steven, would feel overly worked if he didn't have some help. Count me in, as the lip synching in my auditions kinda show I do what I can. I also gotta say, can't wait to do this trailer.

Could Announcer maybe sing Cha-La in Daimao's English translated form? I mean this is an English fandub, and also she has a terrific voice that singing in English may sound much more fantastic. I loved her word-for-word Japanese rendition, but wouldn't singing in English be more proper?

Well, I think I'll try to help. I don't think I'll be able to do as much as I wish, but yeah, I'll do my best =)

Hmmm...why not just have the original version. Just as long as it has that 'rocket' sound effect since we are using an alternate animation ;)
If anything, I'm gonna go back to do some more...experimentation regarding the vocals and all. Here's to success 8)

EDIT: Just to let you know, I did do an earlier version with a better version of Cha-La Head Cha-La. Synced up and all. Enjoy

Sweeeeet!

Mr. Announcer, I'm becoming more and more intrigued as to your singing talents. I believe when you first posted it, you said it wasn't very loud because there were other people home? Well, do you think you could possibly, first chance you get, try recording a louder version, showing us what you can really do? I'm seriously considering the possible option of having you do the main singing for the opening.

Heh, heh. Listen to me, I sound like Cell, now. "Show me your true power!"

Anyway, Eclipse, do you think you could also provide a voice-less version of that? I feel like fiddling around with it, and I'll bet a few other people wouldn't mind having it, either.

UPDATE!: This Saturday night, Rick, Kino, Jack and I will be (finally!) having a YIM conference between the four of us to decide on the final cast. Which means that, so long as we come to final decisions on everything, I'll be posting a cast list sometime Sunday afternoon. Look forward to it.

I think that would work. But the best option would have it be recorded on the computer, and NOT shown ONLY on YouTube. I'm pretty sure the audio could have been much better if we were able to download it instead of ripping it from YouTube.

I agree. Again, Mr. Announcer, you think you could record yourself at the best quality possible, and put it up for download?

Cool. Which version did you use? I'm seeing a few slightly different arrangements here that we might be able to use...

Oy vey. With all the clamor about Shinpan singing for the opening, I feel a wee bit discouraged... I was kinda hoping I could be able to contribute something to it (an alto part, maybe? It would take me a bit to work out one that went well with the melody, but I actually don't think I'm too bad with those...). Well, lemme know if you guys can work something like that in and I'll give it a try... ^^;

And, yes. I am FINALLY back in planning this project! Unfortunately I haven't been allowed the luxury of having classes begin later like you guys (You try having to pack up your stuff to leave for school on your birthday--gloomy, I tell you! >_<) and have had to worry about all the regular heck that occurs with classes resuming. This semester may demand that I devote a lot more of my time to my work as well, so I may only be able to help with this project on weekends and holidays... >_<; But, hey, that's more time than what I could afford if, say, I were still at home working. (Wonky late-night work schedule really threw me off to where I couldn't even do a lot on my free days... >_>; )

Uhm. *ahem* Yeah, hopefully Saturday'll be the day we decide the roles. And if my DM decides to pull a fast one on me with this weekend's gaming schedule... well... he's just gonna have to go without a monk in his party for a few hours. *shakes fist* He never did tell me what time he was planning to hold the game, so I suppose it's first come, first served... :|

Looks like if I'm going to be of any assistance with the script, I'm gonna have to buy Movie 3 or the boxset online... I never did manage to pick that thing up during the holidays. Sorry about that... )x

And, hey, Kaboom, you mentioned something about PMing me several times? I never got them. o_O; And if you sent me any more than two emails about the casting decisions, well, I didn't get any of those extra ones, either; just the two. Is my email going wonky on me, or something... ? D:

^^; Yeah, I know.

And "Shinpan" happens to be an alternate version of the name "Mr. Announcer," I think, or at least it's half of one. I just use it 'cos she uses it for herself, and well, I don't really feel like typing in "Mr. Announcer" or "Announcerguy" every time I refer to her...
