Well, of course i do. I'm not someone who has no life! I draw my own manga- Okamiotoko. If you know Japanese youll know what it means- Werewolf. Yes... my manga is about werewolves. I'm pretty pleased with the thought basis right now, but i need a better storyline. I also have High School and Video Games, Soccer, Manga, the electric guitar, and a strong porn addiction (Just Kidding!)
Anyways- i just think DragonBall wont be a fad, but a legend. Dattebaiyou?!?
Till next time!

It is pretty stuffy in here. Just look at the memberlist and see how many names haven't even posted here yet.

Well considering that most of us are pretty young, I for one have been a Dragonball Fan for well almost half of my life. Not die hard of course, at first I just watched the show in bits and pieces from the whole Freeza part up to the android saga. Now I have seen the series so many times, and used to set my video so I could watch it when I got in from school.

Is it dattebayo or dattebaiyou?
You also reminded me to start my manga back up again.

Yeah, sorry about that. Tyler can't type Romaji to save his life. And why don't they translate the Dattebayo in the manga? He never says, "You know what I mean?" (Dattebayo's translation).Mayuri Furiza Kurotsuchi wrote:It's Dattebayo.Big Momma wrote:Is it dattebayo or dattebaiyou?

As for people who join but rarely post, I can kinda see where they're coming from, since I rarely post on other forums I've joined. But when it comes to those who've never posted, I agree that that's kinda strange. Unnecessarily posting does get pretty disruptive, too.
But all in all, I think it's a pretty cozy community here given that there's a decent amount of people here daily (20-30-ish) but not to the point that it's in the hundreds and only five or so actually post. So... stuffy? Maybe. But enjoyable nonetheless? Heck yes.

I guess I'm one to qualify as a Member who only posts when I see fit. Seeing as I joined last May and don't have a crap load of posts, but then again I used to be one of those Member's at another website that nearly posted in every single thread. Funny to say I don't visit that forum much anymore, if at all.
I have to say I've enjoyed seeing this place become more active. I just hope this place doesn't become sooo active that it starts to draw in people who don't read the rules. Granted we get those from time to time, but I'm talking about a major invasion type thing.
This has got to be one of the BEST DragonBall/Z/GT websites on the net! Keep up the good work guys.

Because, Payne, it would get reeeeaaalllly repetative. Which reminds me...*spaz* Shippuden airs on Thursday!
^Yeah, sometimes I find myself posting in every thread when I first join somewhere, but mostly just to get my post count up so I won't be a forum n00b for long. But I try to keep my posts meaningful when I do it...

I definately hear the whole "wanting to post up" thing, but I've resisted the urge for the most part.
There really are some people who have to throw their two cents in on every damn topic.
As for the recent upswing; I don't know about the other folks, but I joined recently because merchandise is changing, and the internet's new "shtuff".
I first got into Dragonball, back with the initial Cartoon Network Toonami block (the first thing I saw that rubbed against my opinion of anime being crap was part of Movie 2-- Piccolo killing those lil' henchmen. I asked my seven-year-old bro whether that green guy was good or bad and he replied, "It's complicated." I now have more anime than you can shake a stick at).
If you think back to this period, the majority of websites were very-- homegrown? A lot of pictures, manga scanlations, fan sub locations, etc. It was a fight to bring the stuff over. People were crazy with theories and information, and "who the hell is Trunks?" type junk. I remember the revolution that Freeza saga stuff was going to be on dual-language DVD's... and thank god for Planet Namek (although Chris Psaros and Vegetto EX hold their own props).
After that died down, though, there was no reason to be involved in the community, from my point of view. The DVD's were coming out, the US run of Shonen Jump started, and items were available. It wasn't THAT hard to find a copy of Hyper Dimension, and everyone knew how to cut the plastic tabs out of their SNES. We all found the music tracks we really wanted (although there is that Vegeta entrance from movie 7 I still don't have.... grrr). We all knew the movies weren't canon, no matter what Garlic Jr did, and arguing about who had what power level at what point just gets old.
NOW, however, we're in a different place. For the past two years a rumor of an impending live action adaptation won't die, new DVD's, a slice of new MANGA (?!) by Toriyama with the One Piece gang, new snippets of animation, the dawn of YouTube clips, new video games... there's just an upswing in new Dragonball things to discuss. I think beginning the podcast here was a recognition of that, and it also made this joint a lightning rod for the discussion of what's new.
More importantly, I think there's something generational going on. The "oldschool" fans (who need to remember how late they got on the train) are here to police the next generation towards enlightment, and to defend the almighty best (because that's what Dragonball is) against all this "Naruto" and "Bleach" bullhockey. But some would argue otherwise-- and that's half the fun.
Wow, I rambled. But yea... there's MY two cents. : P

Even though I only joined about a year ago, my post count is somehow already over 1500 (when did that happen?!), but it's honestly not trying to just post for any reason to get the number up. I just post a lot because I'm an active, goofy guy (online, anyway), not to mention how often I ask questions, and that a lot of my posts have been for the dub project, etc...
