Yeah, we'll see. Right now, I'm too engrossed in writing the script, as well as preparing to pick the cast. But come Sunday, once the latter is taken care of and done, I'll be able to kick in on other things a bit more. Get some more delegatin' done and get everyone started on working together.

Who are the casts anyways? Oh yeah, trade secret -_-

Oh and...I think I may be the first to post it, but I was trying to create a beta audio track to sync up to some footage, to see if my assumption would work. While I was finding some audio clips (by searching the Audition thread), for some reason, while downloading an apparent Tullece audition (by our very own SSJ Conan), I was mystified that instead of that, I had found this

I'm sorry if it wasn't supposed to be shown yet >.<

Actually, that "trailer" has no official affiliation with the project other than it featuring myself auditioning for Tullece in a wider capacity than my Oozaru-Gohan clip features. Kaboom mentioned it helped put me in thought for putting together the trailer, with my Dead Zone "trailer" sealing the deal. Sorry if that caused any confusion.

Ahhhh...makes sense. Still it sucks, because I can't rip any Tullece stuff since there's music in the background..and trailer-ness >.> And I need experiments!! AGHS!! *Runs back to lab*

Yeah, it's just one of Conan's audition files. He just put it in trailer form.

Looking forward to seeing the results of your experiments, Eclipse.

Here are my lyrics. I tried to stay as close as possible to the original, but of course, there are parts that are a little different. However, I think they catch the spirit.

http://www.voice-actors.de/member/rac/h ... lyrics.rtf

And YES, I kept the dinosaur part in this, because I L_O_V_E it!

The rhythm for the lyrics is just like Hironobu Kageyama's. Me and my girlfriend (English native speaker) "tested" it several times.^^

I know how people appreciate the Japanese BGM the most, and so I've been looking for some music that's along the lines of the 'dun dun dun' theme (when Goku forms the Spirit Bomb). This one has an added emergency to it, with a faster pace. It also feels more powerful and righteous, as opposed to the 'Earth, I'm relying on you to save us all' feeling from the original. I don't believe it to outstandingly good, unless there's some positive feedback.

" It was a dark and stormy night..."

Well, it was for Rick and I, anyway. It was 9 PM in New Jersey, and drizzling. It was dark for Kino, but I think the weather was good for her. For Jack, however, it was the wee hours of the afternoon, and I'll bet it was sunny, too. Lucky lil' punk, living in Australia like he does. Grrr...

Anyhoo, come 9 PM, Rick and I were online, but there was no sign of Jack or Kino. Around 9:30, we finally managed to get a hold of her. She was online, but was having trouble with YIM. It was about 9:45 when she finally managed to get signed on. Jack showed up at 10.

Once we were all on and in the chat, we could finally get down to business. We were off to a late start, but when we had planned this, we had only figured on it taking about an hour, maybe two, to get things decided.

  • It was 4:30 AM when I went to bed.
Save for about an hour during which we paused, because I wasn't home and had to go home, most of our time was spent playing around with YIM's voice chat feature, sharing pictures, and being generally nerdy.

Oh, yeah, we did somehow manage to get a cast picked out during all the madness!

Bubbles – Kirbopher
Oolong – Rory
Roshi – Maker777
Chi-Chi – Mr. Announcer
Bulma – Chuquita
Kaio – Timo
Shenlong - Jwimz
Narrator - Kirbopher

Raisin – Taku
Rakasei – Future_Trunks
Daizu – Chibi_Goten
Amond – Timo
Cacao – Mystic Jack
Tullece – Rene H

Ohzaru Gohan – (Conan?) *
Higher Dragon – (Kirbopher?) *
Puer – Azure
Yamcha – Conan **
Chaozu – Chibi_Goten
Tenshinhan - Kirbopher
Kuririn – Swift
Piccolo – Mr. Piccolo
Gohan – KinoFourPaws
Goku – Dan (Most likely) ***
Random Screaming Dude – SSj Kaboom ****

* Both these parts, Ohzaru Gohan and Higher Dragon, are kind of weird, and out of the ordinary. Conan and Kirbopher, respectively, were the best at these two, but it remains to be seen if other methods of acquiring these voices may be used, such as finding some sort of prerecorded roaring sounds for Gohan or ripping Higher Dragon's audio from the movie. Conan and Kirbopher, you guys are our human choices for the parts, but keep your eyes and ears peeled; we'll get in touch with you about it.

** Conan, we liked your Yamcha. Problem was, we didn't get to hear much of your Yamcha other than battle yells and grunts (which were good, make no mistake). If you'd please, would you record yourself doing some dialogue as Yamcha (the dialogue I posted back in the audition thread would be fine), and get them to Rick, Kino, Jack and I?

*** I'll bet none of you saw this coming. I know a lot of you are probably thinking Dan should get this role, and to be honest, we are too. But we need to get in touch with him a little more closely and work a thing or two out before we set anything in stone. So in short, Dan, we need you for a callback. Get in touch with me, okay?

**** Ummm... yeah. I never noticed this dude when I went through the movie and compiled the character list, so I figured I'd just do him. All he does is abandon his car and run away screaming for help. Should be fun...

So, there you have it, folks. The cast is picked, so for those of you who got your parts, congratulations, and don't forget to practice. The first thing we'll be producing is a trailer, partly for the sake of "trailer-ness," but more as practice for everyone. A plan and script for that will be put together soon, so in the meantime, practice, practice, practice! And feel free to voice any opinions or enthusiastic reactions in this thread.

P.S. - Whoops, almost forgot. If anyone's interested, you can take a peek at how some of our conversation went here. It's not everything, since we used voice chat for most of the time and the important stuff, but it's an interesting read, if anything.

I'm kinda surprised I only got two roles, both of which apparently are riding on another Yamcha submission and if you guys find prerecorded animal sounds. And Kirbopher seems to be our official Chris Sabat of the fandub. Oh dear...as many of compliments I found from you guys in the blog (and I'm flattered), I'm just kinda caught off guard. Well, I'll do another recording for Yamcha and email it your guys' ways.

Hot damn, guess I'll have to get used to being Chuquita's soon-to-be-dumped boyfriend. XD

Take it easy? Was I bitching or something? Um, no. I was just pointing out my honest feelings about the matter without going overboard or into a ridiculous guilt trip. Really, I'm perfectly fine with the roles I've gotten. It's just the whole "We need another submission - We're gonna try animal pre-recordings" that kinda caught me off guard. I mean, unlike everyone else, my roles are kinda still up in a coin toss. That just sorta threw me for a loop.

Conan the SSJ wrote: I'm not upset or anything about the roles I got, I couldn't be happier. I can't wait to do my portrayal of Yamcha. In fact, getting more than one role flatters me more than you know. It's just the whole "Submit one more thing -animal prerecordings" I've already mentioned that has me confused (as it makes it look like any VA involvment of mine is riding on this). That's the only thing that irks me, seriously, I'm really looking forward to doing these parts.
Oh, no, don't worry, Conan. You're definitely Yamcha (Who is a fairly big part), don't get me wrong. We just wanna hear more of you in terms of dialogue first. And the "Godzilla noises for Ohzaru Gohan" thing is very unlikely. We'll probably end up having you record, and tweaking it slightly to sound more like a 60-foot angry gorilla through the magic of technology.

Another thing to keep in mind, folks. One of the bigger factors in voice casting was how much else one is involved in other aspects of the project. For example, Mr. Announcer's Gohan, Kuririn, and Chi-Chi were all awesome, and she could have been cast and been able to do well as all three. But not only would that have been unfair to other auditionees, but she's also already helping with the project in several other ways, such as singing "Head Cha La" for the opening and collaberating with me on a "poster." It's both about fairness and trying to prevent too much of a workload.

Similarly, folks like Kirbopher, Rick, Dan, and Timo ended up with more or bigger roles because (in addition to being exceptionally qualified for them) it's their only real big contribution.

Cool, cool. ^^;;

And yeah, I deleted that post you quoted because it looked redundant compared to the one before it IMO.

I just wanted to thank everyone who auditioned and also congratulate those who got the roles. Even though the audition process was a lot of work, Kaboom, Kino, and Jack kept it fun and interesting, so thanks to you guys too.

I just want to point out that half of the things in the blog probably won't make sense seeing how its in so damn early (for most of us it was). Other than that, uh, thanks and congrats again. *cue to P.I.R. music*

...well, I did PM someone about more Tullece lines so I could show that I could do a better job with his voice, but that didn't exactly happen. The characters I'm "playing" are...well...doing animal noises, and voicing a narrator that I don't think even SPEAKS in this movie. So, I appreciate the complement guys, but no, I don't exactly think I'm the "Chris Sabat" of this production. I guess I'll just try to do the best I can with Tien.

You're right, that was me you PMed. My slip. I'm really sorry about that. Again, to everyone... Honestly, we still tried to be as fair as possible in selecting people for the parts. So please bear with us, and try to do as well as possible.

Wow... I actually got the part! :D Alright, I'll have to start practicing my Kuririn voice some more.

Glad to see a cast completely chosen and everything. Hopefully we'll be actually able to complete this, unlike so many other fandubs. I think we have a chance with how well this seems to be organized and all. So... Any idea when we're going to start doing lines, for the trailer and/or for the actual movie?

(I actually was originally hoping to voice Vegeta, but as he wasn't in this movie, Kuririn was my second choice. Let me know if you ever need a Brian Drummond-esque Vegeta voice for anything. :P)
