My hope for the "huge announcement" would be Dragon Ball Super going to Weekly Shonen Jump. A man can dream I guess...

Unless you mean them doing a reverse-Super and making a movie version of the Uni 6 arc?
Maybe "compilation" isn't the right word, but I expect Super's new story lines to be recycled into movies. Before the recent kick of "manga creator penned/produced/approved" Shonen movies, that was a very common thing to do (it's not uncommon for anime in general). I doubt Toriyama is overflowing with new ideas to support both a new series and a film. I'm not sure anyone is interested in inconsequential Toei fanfiction films either.

If base Gohan is stronger than Piccolo, this would mean that Gohan didn't lose all of the power from his Ultimate state.

Base gohan probably isnt equal to mystic. But i think that he has retained a lot of it. However to fully go into his old mystic power he has to go super saiyan now to fill in the blanks. It seems that with ssgss and gohan super saiyan is no longer a 50 times multiplication

it's not that hard to give gohan an estimate on his powerlevel. Most of the assumptions about him being as weak as cell games were clearly wrong, and didn't really have any evidence seeing as how gohan was either fighting chumps or op dudes in the movie. Super establishes that he's much stronger than piccolo however. Which can only mean that he's somewhere in between super saiyan 2 kid gohan and mystic. I'm leaning towards him being closer to mystic because he was able to completely own Ginyu which was able to take a punch from piccolo without flinching.

What "huge announcement"?
The next v-Jump will have a huge announcement for the franchise.

But Super going weekly is extremely unlikely, not to say impossible. The point of the manga is just to give a glimpse of what's to come in the anime, and that's not what Shonen Jump is for, it only publishes original works. That's why the Super manga isn't in a regular manga magazine, it's a different beast.
Besides, we don't know if Toyotaro could handle a weekly pro manga.

Is it just me that think rof arc is doing better than the movie, the fight with tagoma was sick and finally Gohan got his moment in the fight with tagoma and gotenks fight was funny. I like how rof arc is going even though it has some plotholes that bug me such as ginyu how is he still alive and when he snatches bodies with tagoma, tagoma repeats what ginyu the frog said and then they snatch bodies, from what I remember in dbz when ginyu snatches Bodies with Goku it's only ginyu who says change not both of them also how can ginyu tap into tagoma power if in dbz he didn't know how to use goky's powers
