Bardock TV Special [Full feature-length fandub]

Post by xXInfinite026Xx » Sun Dec 06, 2015 12:49 pm

Hey fellow Kanzenshuuers!

Here I present to you a feature length fandub of the Bardock TV Special created with the intent to adapt the original Japanese version more faithfully for an English-speaking audience. As an important note, the is an entirely separate (and coincidental) project from OmegaRockman's fandub production that you can check out here! In fact, we have supported each others project after finding out we were producing a similar product with the same goal in mind! Yes, there are a couple of crossover roles and lines between the two projects, but other than that, this version is an entirely separate adaptation with it's own script and voice cast. Please support his thread as well, as I know first hand how difficult these full length projects can be.

You can check out the feature length video on YouTube here! Keep in mind that this video is unlisted as an attempt to avoid copyright strikes. I have another video on my channel that provides the link to the full length version, so if you want to share it, I ask that you please use this one instead.

You can also download the full video without the YouTube border: https://mega.nz/#F!PRciHZbZ!Rt39AyMHAVaI2rFQQvE6EA

I have to say, that was thoroughly fantastic! However, I expected no less from you, Mugen. I really love how you handled Freeza's dialogue. MUCH better than my script's version. Of course, you and Pgirts really delivered on your respective ends. I also really liked your Vegeta! He really gave a cold vibe to the character. All of your extras were pretty damn good as well. Your range still surprises me to no end: every character you played sounds distinct and one really has to listen hard to tell that it's you playing all of them. Also, that Baby Goku is the best (have to say it; after all, I'm marrying the woman who played him). All in all, you did an amazing job! I can't wait to see what you dish out in the future (though I imagine you'd want to take a break after this one)!

Also, I really appreciate you plugging my version. I honestly can't thank you and Ryusuke enough for your support.

From one Freeza to another, solid job! Although I expected nothing less from your other dubs.

The mixing is incredible, the casting was extremely well done. If you guys decide to redub some of the more inaccurate English, I'd watch all of 'em for sure. Funny how in the span of a month we went from no accurate English dubs of this to 2.

I appreciate your feedback man. The dialogue itself is all revised from Steve Simmon's official subtitle track, but I tried replicating how FUNimation writes for Chris Aryes Freeza. Having PGirts was also a treat, since he's worked with Ryusuke before and a large part of the cast was from his group of talent he utilizes. This is also true for Adult and Kid Vegeta, they did a great job with their roles. The rest were casted based on auditions and scouting.
Thanks for the compliments on the range as well. That's something I've been steadily trying to improve on since I've started voice work. I hadn't originally intended to play as many characters, but I'm glad I was at least able to play each one convincingly enough. It also helps when I can go back a tweak things as many times as I want when producing the fandub. It's actually a nice perk/luxury to have that control, especially with the title character.

On another note, congratulations with your marriage announcement to SEETHERSGIRL, I had no idea to be honest :o :o how surprising! Her lines were a real life-saver and helped us in the clutch! Thanks for supplying them for us.

Ryusuke and I had you in mind before the initial casting, so of course we are thankful you could be a part of it. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was a lot of hard work to get it to where it is now.

Yeah it was quite funny how both projects were conceived not only with the same goal, but around the same time frame as one another. This has been a dream project of mine for various reasons, of which all of us here at Kanzenshuu can understand all to well. I started prepping it initially in 2013 but made major headway in late 2014 to have most of the mixing ready before the auditions. It's an odd coincidence, but I'm glad it happened since we were able to help complete each other's projects because of that.

Thanks a million, man! You don't have to feel bad about not knowing, though, haha. It's not like I was shouting it from the rooftops. We shared it on Facebook for the friends and family and were done with it. Either way, I'm glad her lines were able to help! I guess it all works out since they're crying sounds rather than scripted lines, haha.

Was really fun to work with you on this project. It was quite a learning process for me, too. It's not everyday I actually get the chance to direct someone on Skype. haha I kind of wish I had more time with the guy, but still. This really came out excellent. Like I've told you in the first cut of the fandub, it really gave me the same chills as the Japanese version did. It's so nice to see a big project such as this end up done, and sound so professional, too. Fantastic performances all around.

Thanks again to OmegaRockman, and again congrats on the engagement. :D

This is fantastic! Very well done to all of the cast members; this might be the best fandub of anything that I've ever heard.

Thanks so much for the feedback! I'm truly glad that you fell that way about it as well. I've been lucky to have the opportunity to feature some amazingly great talent for this fandub project, and I can honestly say I'm proud of how it all came together. It was a lot of hard work, but it was totally worth it!

that was amazing! I wish munsonx4 had a bigger role but you did great! Bardock and Frieza were standouts in particular.
