I hope there's another half (and it'll appear sometime soon). I'm hungry to know what's going on with Gokû and Vegeta.LuckyCat wrote:If Gohan didn't get some sort of boost after seeing Piccolo mortally wounded, the scene would be kind of a waste. So that's good news!
Usually those episode preview images have two parts though, I wonder what happened to the other half.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Who does he exactly "rage" on though? Vegeta is seen destroying Tagoma and Freeza looks untouched. Does he punch a few rocks? Lame, they clearly lost with Gohan thank God Toriyama decided to leave him be in U6.alakazam^ wrote:That's basically it. I'm guessing he will rage next episode, which is always nice and hopefully people stop complaining as much.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Eh, the Buu arc itself made fun of the whole "unlock potential" thing when the Supreme Kai's ability was introduced. It only "stopped" there because the series originally ended there. Besides, we just had Vegeta getting a rage boost to a level higher than any boost that Gohan ever got, which never made much sense.dbzfan7 wrote:I hope there's no rage boost or more hidden power crap. I don't want that to become a thing again. The whole hidden power aspect was book ended in the Boo arc, so there's no need to do that again. It'd be regressing and retreading taken to the next level.
I guess he'll briefly overpower 1st form Freeza, but then can't hold that level due to his body, which is why Freeza is still just fine by the time Goku and Vegeta arrive.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Who does he exactly "rage" on though? Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Does anyone think the plot we're getting in the RF arc was what we were supposed to get in the movie ? Maybe early in production they knew about the new series so they decided to save it for it and wrote a new, shortened version for the movie.
If it's just them changing it for the series then wouldn't they have done the same for BOG ?

July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Freeza, obviously.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Who does he exactly "rage" on though? Vegeta is seen destroying Tagoma and Freeza looks untouched. Does he punch a few rocks? Lame, they clearly lost with Gohan thank God Toriyama decided to leave him be in U6.
But Toriyama was the one to write the whole thing, he didn't even think they'd publish his script so I think it's unlikely there were any "original, unreleased draft" at the time. I also wonder why they are making these changes and what Toriyama thinks about them. It's basically them saying "your script could have more" but there's no reason for them not to have told him at the time, they even cut stuff from Toriyama's script.sintzu wrote:Does anyone think the plot we're getting in the RF arc was what we were supposed to get in the movie ? Nothing in the Golden Freeza arc so far could not have been included in the film, it simply was not included.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
So theres no chance of them changing how Goku got pierced by Sorbet's ring beam since Toriyama was the one that wrote that scene... well there goes my hope for FnF Super arc, skipping the whole thing till U6 then.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I think there's a chance. They added Trunks and Goten after all and Toriyama wrote them out of the movie.
On hiatus.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Toriyama also wrote Shisama vs Piccolo, then Gohan finishing him off in one attack, and yet that didn't happen here. They've also changed the person who pierced Gohan. So, it could happen again. Maybe it'll be Ginyu doing it this time.SansrivaaL wrote:So theres no chance of them changing how Goku got pierced by Sorbet's ring beam since Toriyama was the one that wrote that scene... well there goes my hope for FnF Super arc, skipping the whole thing till U6 then.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Anything's possible. If all the movie events were fixed events in Super just because Toriyama wrote them, I wouldn't be worried about the fate of the hand holding teleport after all.

I know, maybe they told him to write a 2nd version for the movie or maybe he decided to do that and have his original script saved for the series.alakazam^ wrote:But Toriyama was the one to write the whole thing.

I wish you're right, that scene really disturbs me, FnF movie ver had good animation if it werent for some CGI scenes. The only thing that ruined it for me was that Sorbet beam pierce bs.Neon Z wrote:Toriyama also wrote Shisama vs Piccolo, then Gohan finishing him off in one attack, and yet that didn't happen here. I could translate it word for word? Of course if you want. As for the announcement of 23 episodes.

No, we can read it fine. I was referring to the previous weeks' episode previews having both a top and bottom paragraph depicting 2 scenes. This week only has one, I guess?WhisPL wrote:I could translate it word for word? Of course if you want. As for the announcement of 23 episodes.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Vegeta never should have had that to begin with. Gohan already had his hidden power brought out far beyond it's limit, and I don't want another hidden power retread where something like that happens again. It'd be far more interesting if he can't rely on hidden power anymore after the ritual, and so he has to gain strength through training if they take the character that route. That would be progress Gohan, rather than regress him back to the hidden power freebies he once had which would be cheap and lazy.Neon Z wrote:Eh, the Buu arc itself made fun of the whole "unlock potential" thing when the Supreme Kai's ability was introduced. Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
What exactly do you need to have explained for you? Gohan is a half-blood Saiyan blessed with enormous power, a fact which is as much of a sensible normality as the fact that Freeza just happens to be as strong as he is. It is who he is. Throughout his life, he has awakened his dormant potential a number of times, awakenings often caused by great inner turmoil (which explains why he needed meditation in order to reach the Ultimate Gohan stage), and awakenings which are, to a certain degree, independent of his base power level, a fact proved by his assault on Raditz when he was just a little baby with no fighting ability at all.Kishido wrote:Really I already know whatever it will be it wont explain anything
With these observations in mind, there is absolutely nothing illogical about yet another rise in power, despite his current state and despite how temporary it may be (and it will be temporary - it always has been), especially considering the incident regarding Piccolo. In fact, he'd be an inconsistent, downright boring character if the death (or grave injury) of a dear friend did not cause his body and latent power to once again rise and rebell against Gohan's own self-imposed weakness.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I expect a generic powered up SSJ, like in Vegeta's case. Super threw sparks there though, so maybe the same will happen here (Gohan SSJ looking just like before, but with sparks).Kishido wrote:What will it be?

Now there seems to be this "your power is too great for your body" element though. So, it's not exactly a freebie.dbzfan7 wrote:Vegeta never should have had that to begin with. I'm amazed how people twist things to let them seem OK.Sakura wrote:What exactly do you need to have explained for you? What I think Toei might do is Sorbet shoots his laser, Goku noticed it and smacks it away, then Frieza takes advantage of that distraction and fires a Ki blast to Goku, knocking him out.SansrivaaL wrote:So theres no chance of them changing how Goku got pierced by Sorbet's ring beam since Toriyama was the one that wrote that scene... well there goes my hope for FnF Super arc, skipping the whole thing till U6 then.
