Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I'm conflicted. On the one hand, I hope they change it because then maybe people will get over it. On the other hand, I don't want them to change it because it's about the only moment Sorbet really gets - especially in the Super version where he's now getting shown up by Tagoma - and also because it acknowledges it as a problem when I don't really see it as one.
I'm leaning more towards changing it though just so people will hopefully stop complaining though.

I don't have a horse in that race, so I don't care either way, but if they do change it to Gokû getting knocked out, I'm up for Vegeta pulling off a second heroic princess-catch. :3
On hiatus.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
If Goku powers down out of his SSJB form and Tagoma is the one to fire a blast through him then I don't see why that should be such a problem for people.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Another way they could have Goku lose is by having him lose his Ssj form due to him dragging the fight out which gives Freeza the upper hand and leads to him winning the fight.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
See, I always really liked the scene that Sorbet shoot Goku: it highlights so much of everyone's character. Sorbet is weak and a coward, and hides behind technology and short cuts to achieve his ends. Freeza has no honor in fighting: he wants his revenge against Goku, and doesn't care if he needs to use a minion to shoot him behind Goku's back to accomplish it if strength fails (similar to how he is willing to just destroy a planet and kill people via the vaccuum of space instead of fighting). And Goku puts his guard down, and often has a very carefree atitude that can get him killed. It is such a great scene in my mind because of that.
People saying "oh, technology can't *possibly* be strong enough to do that" forget how strong the Androids were and Gero only had access to Earth tech that before that couldn't even harm Goku in the RR army arc. Sorbet has the technology to rebuild Freeza from little blobs and travel space much faster than most earth ships. I think he can make something on a Buu+ scale as a weapon of last resort for a surprise attack. I don't think it is that implausible. I'm actually surprised there is not *more* tech of this sort in the Dragon World.

What has been twisted? You should point that out to me, so that I can address it. Simply saying stuff and then walking away seems a bit pointless, no?Kishido wrote: I'm amazed how people twist things to let them seem OK.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
That's could mean something different or not, I ain't sure yet. Rage boosts for Gohan is like making Vegeta want to evil again after that part of his life has been book ended in the Boo saga. That part of their characters is done.Neon Z wrote:Now there seems to be this "your power is too great for your body" element though. So, it's not exactly a freebie.dbzfan7 wrote:Vegeta never should have had that to begin with. Gohan already had his hidden power brought out far beyond it's limit, and I don't want another hidden power retread where something like that happens again. It'd be far more interesting if he can't rely on hidden power anymore after the ritual, and so he has to gain strength through training if they take the character that route. That would be progress Gohan, rather than regress him back to the hidden power freebies he once had which would be cheap and lazy.

I'm ok with these scenarios.Bullza wrote:If Goku powers down out of his SSJB form and Tagoma is the one to fire a blast through him then I don't see why that should be such a problem for people.
Or have Vegeta smack Goku on the head (majin Vegeta throw back since it seems like Toei's into nostalgia scenes) because he wants a turn lol.

The laser scene is a classic, it should never be altered in any way, shape or form.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I like the laser scene, as it is the result of an idea that was being set-up since the beginning of the movie/arc. Goku being relaxed, sometimes overconfident when figthing. Lowering his guard, etc. Whis said this in the movie and in the Super arc it was even more emphasised.
The laser scene was impactful for me, and it makes sense in the screenplay. If it still happens on Super, I'm gonna be ok with it. If not... let's see what Toei thinks as an alternative.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
The best part about the laser scene is how literally everyone should be trying to do that to every bad guy from now on. They get all cocky and BAM kienzan, Krillin kills a bad guy because they weren't paying attention to him. Or BZZZOW Tenshinhan kills a bad guy because they didn't pay attention to him firing a Dodonpa. Unfortunately this won't happen because that would make every scenario too easy. So only the bad guys can do it.
In fact let's just do that for this arc to have the perfect book end. Krillin throws a Kienzan while Freeza isn't looking, and kills Freeza in a similar fashion that he was cut in half on Namek. If he survives then Goku and/or Vegeta blast what's left of Freeza. That would be awesome.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Freeza didn't talk to Sorbet about the "Plan B" in Super, but then again, how Pilaf became a child was also never mentioned.
I think that it will be changed, though. Maybe something with Ginyu if he's not killed by Vegeta next episode. I don't think the "Freeza-rage-quitting-and-destroying-the-Earth" will be changed.

Nothing makes sense in that screenplay. The laser scene was impactful for me, and it makes sense in the screenplay.

I could see Beerus intervening out of annoyance. Knocks out Goku, get's ready to destroy the Earth. Vegeta asks for 5 minutes to finish the fight. And they lived happily ever after..., or did they?!

Beerus didn't tell Goku about 12 universes. Whis didn't mention the time rewind. Pretty obvious Super is trying to be more subtle about things.Sandubadear wrote:Freeza didn't talk to Sorbet about the "Plan B" in Super, but then again, how Pilaf became a child was also never mentioned.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
ROF arc is receiving major changes compared to the movie. I think Vegeta is going to be the one to "really" defeat Freeza this time as they may delete the laser scene, and just have Goku get his arse kicked by Freeza for underestimating him. Vegeta steps in and saves the day, that would be giving Vegeta his moment IMO. It could also show what Whis meant by telling Goku he is to confident and lets his guard down because of it, and it could have major consequences in a battle of life and death. (EX. Freeza kicking his arse)
