Can Babbidi release Gohan's dormant power?

Let's say Gohan meets the requirements to become a Majin.

Did he release anyone's power? I thought he just used magic to artificially increase people's power

He brought out Vegeta's latent power beyond its limits.

He could probably do the same to Gohan, but not to the extent of old Kaioshin.

I suspect he would only be able to bring him to maximum SS2 and nothing more although I could be wrong. Majin Vegeta's power might have just been the limit of what Vegeta was capable of, Gohan obviously had far greater potential than him so it's hard to say.

Either way though, I think Kai magic is superior to Babidi's so Ultimate/Mystic Gohan > Majin Gohan.

Well yeah, but what I meant was that Majin Vegeta obviously had limits of his own. His whole body seemed to be unnaturally strained after Babidi unlocked his power (popping veins etc) so it seemed like he was at his breaking point with the power that he had.

Gohan obviously had a lot more dormant power than Vegeta so the question is; would Babidi's magic have been able to draw out that power the same way Old Kai did or would it only maximize his SS2? (like with Vegeta)

I'm inclined to think that Old Kai's magic is more effective since Vegeta still had to rely on SS transformations but really it's impossible to know for sure unless Vegeta got the same power up as Gohan and vice versa.

If he gets majin after mystic, then no way in hell can gohan's power be increased any more. But if it is before that, then gohan SS2 will become stronger than goku SS2 , maybe comparable to majin buu (fat one)

Obviously Babidi's Majin spell wouldn't be nearly as effective as Old Kaioshin's unlock ability, but Gohan would probably get a much bigger boost than Vegeta did. Maybe it would be enough to push him into Super Saiyan 3.

I think Babidi magic could release Gohan's dormant power in the same way Guru released Gohan's dormant power in that fact the he raise Gohan's BP but not tap into all of his hidden potential as the same way the the Old Kai's ritual did. He certainly would be stronger than Majin Vegeta, I know that much.

Well of course it is. Vegeta was far stronger than Gohan was by the time of the Babidi Saga, yet Mystic Gohan was light years ahead of Majin Vegeta.

First Gohan are probably pure good so is probably that the Babido control are useless in him but let's suppose that he have some evil in his heart because he is half human.

Even in this situation i think that the dormant power are going to be less that the power he received in the old kai power up.

He might well be as strong as he got after Old Kai made him Mystical, but he'd have to transform, taxing his body.

I don't think using Gohan's dark side would be as efficient as Old Kai's approach, though. I know, "the brighter the picture, the darker the negative," but even if we safely assume Gohan has an awfully dark side, it just wouldn't be as holistic.

Well of course it is. Vegeta was far stronger than Gohan was by the time of the Babidi Saga, yet Mystic Gohan was light years ahead of Majin Vegeta.

Even if Vegeta had been given the same ritual as Gohan I doubt he'd have gotten much stronger than his Majin self let alone Mystic Gohan. Vegeta's potential was always lower than Gohan's so regardless of who's magic was being used to unlock it I still think Gohan would have more hidden power to draw from.
