Is there anyway we could make the humans relevent?
Is there anyway we could make the humans relevent?
Look we all know by z that the humans were surpassed to the point of no return and were left in the dust. But is there anyway we could have them do or gain something in super instead getting there ass kicked #24436 time and hope for goku to save them again?
Re: Is there anyway we could make the humans relevent?
Sorbet's laser is the kickstart to having humans be relevant. It'd be total bullshit if the lesson of F only applied to Goku, and then never came up again. Someone like Krillin has the perfect attack to kill someone who is off guard or distracted. If there's one good thing that comes from said scene, it's the possibility of humans overcoming powerful foes.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

True Another thing why not one of them or at least tien ask whis to train them or something?dbzfan7 wrote:Sorbet's laser is the kickstart to having humans be relevant. Re: Is there anyway we could make the humans relevent?
Whis trains them and they're magically on par with Gokuu and Vegeta. Because.
Or one could simply give them storylines outside of battle.

Re: Is there anyway we could make the humans relevent?
Well, I'm guessing Pan and Uub may be pretty strong, but they really aren't normal humans either. I know not many like having new forms, but I think it'd be cool if Krillin had one. Tien and Yamcha should be trained by someone. Hell I'd die if Zuno ends up training Gohan and them, with Satan of course. He'd be DBSupers One-Punch Man.
As much as I love Dragon Ball I hate that the entire cast aside from the Saiyan's have become irrelevant. I hope they all train, and it turns out to be like One Piece and Luffy's crew. I'm not saying they need to be able to kill Goku, I'm just saying they shouldn't be weak to the point where they are useless other than waiting on Goku to show up every arc. What the heck's Earth going to do when Goku and Vegeta die for good?

Re: Is there anyway we could make the humans relevent?
The fact that even Gohan and Goten/Trunks have become irrelevant when they're Saiyans proves the humans have no chance in hell.
Re: Is there anyway we could make the humans relevent?
I keep and will always say, there are so many ways in which you could make any and every character relevant without having them surpass or even come close to Goku or Vegeta in power. You just have to be creative and willing.
Remember when Tenshinhan took on Cell ? He was weaker than both Piccolo and 16 who fought Cell before him, but he managed to achieve his goal which was to stall Cell for long enough for the androids to escape. It was his brief and final moment in the spot light, but still memorable.

Re: Is there anyway we could make the humans relevent?
I hope the human Z fighters could master the kaio-ken because then they could fight in their normal form, then power up and finally kaio-ken.
This is how I'll do it if I could write the manga.
I'll do it so Tien learns it without the help of King Kai just like how he learnt the containment wave in dragon ball and then he masters it and can go kaio-ken *100. He will then teach the others. Piccolo will see Tien show the others and learn himself and therefore he masters it and would be able to go *100 (I should note I don't really know the power levels when they go kaio-ken). This would at least make them stronger and useful.

Humans have been useless since the Saiyan Arc. The Saiyans are now Super Saiyan Gods.
They`re not even in the same cosmos.
Tien is actually my third favorite character next to Piccolo and Bardock, and I felt that he always had the right mentality. Yamcha and Krillin both stopped fighting, but Tien has always stayed focused. He doesn`t care how strong the Saiyans get, he works at his own pace, and that`s part of what I like about him.
But to answer your question, I can`t think of anything that would make them relevant. The only thing I could think of would be that the weaker Z fighters take on the main villains minions and henchman, but even that`s a stretch nowadays.

Re: Is there anyway we could make the humans relevent?
I think it's far too late for the humans to catch up and stay revalent, even with Whis' training. It's all about the weird and wacky aliens, demons and robots and has been since Android/Cell arc.
Spoiler:
Re: Is there anyway we could make the humans relevent?
All I know is that the humans who have gone through Goku's training later came out stronger, because they started out that way, as if training was a multiplier. If they went through the RoSaT now, or by the Buu saga, they would come out much stronger. It's just that they don't benefit from transformations, so they would be useless no matter what. I think it's pretty clear that humans serve the only purpose of representing their race on planet Earth, as a mid tier compared to the Saiyans, when the latter look just like them. I doubt many people go around saying: "no, they're not humans, they're saiyans"; because the show has hardly used any other race that isn't obviously different.
Re: Is there anyway we could make the humans relevent?
Just be happy Yamcha and Tien showed up at the Cell games, got to fight Cell Jr's, and then contributed to the final attack on Cell by firing on him in the anime.
It was rather obvious the Cell games were the last hurrah for them.

Re: Is there anyway we could make the humans relevent?
I agree that it may be simply too late at this stage of the game. It's been 3 decades now that the Saiyans are the top dogs, it's already core/iconic/stample for the series (for better or worse). The best we can hope is good stories outside of battles. And I don't mean just everyday filler/comedic-relief/watching from sidelines. Bulma has always been relevant and her her content been good yet she's not a fighter. Satan was great in Buu arc, Krillin in Cell saga. There's unlimited number of ways humans can be meaningfully involved within the core story

Re: Is there anyway we could make the humans relevent?
The last time non saiyans were relevant :
- Piccolo : Fight vs #17 as a fighter, and buu arc as overall character
- Tenshinhan : Holding off Semi cell
- Yamcha : Getting gero's hand through his chest
- Krillin : battle with freeza
- Chiatzu : Battle with krillin
- Yajirobe : battle with vegeta (cutting tail)

Bulma was relevant throughout the whole series despite being an ordinary human with no superpower, that proves you dont need to be strong to be relevant.Dont know why people think Strength = Relevancy.
Re: Is there anyway we could make the humans relevent?
Some might argue that she too lost relevancy. She started out as Goku's "co-star" , a main protagonist and ended up a side character. Her position as the "science wiz " was definitely useful but ultimately I think it was the decision to pair her up with Vegeta and be Trunks' mother that kept her role so prominent in the later part of the story.SSJ3 Vegeta wrote:Bulma was relevant throughout the whole series despite being an ordinary human with no superpower, that proves you dont need to be strong to be relevant.Dont know why people think Strength = Relevancy.
I don't think strength should equal relevancy, but it's sadly a formula that DB has often used.

Only Saga that Bulma is not that relevant is Buu Saga.Other than that, she looks like she's going to have a descent role in Champa Saga.Michsi wrote:Some might argue that she too lost relevancy. Re: Is there anyway we could make the humans relevent?
Piccolo Saga, 23rd tournament , Saiyan Saga -she was mostly on the sidelines as a commentator. But yeah, she did have her moments in the Namek and Cell Saga, which is more than we can say for Tenshinhan and Yamcha. If it weren't for the Kuririn/ 18 subplot my guess is that Kuririn too would have had a far more diminished presence.SSJ3 Vegeta wrote:]

Re: Is there anyway we could make the humans relevent?
Yamcha and Tien were far more relevant in the Cell saga than Freeza saga, for the obvious reason that they weren't dead.
