Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
So with the Champa arc starting on the 24th. What does mean for Manga? Perhaps one more chapter? I really don't see them spoiling how the fights go down, this isn't BoG or F where we've seen it and the anime is the main product.
Oh and these Z homages seriously need to frigging stop. Urgh!!

I'd rather a Saiyan or something else to the bear, but it is nice. That thing on Beerus' team really is hideous though. A transformation would be best.
The Frieza guy looks menacing and strong, and wayyy better than Frieza. I like him.

Piccolo is put after Buu.
Maybe he is stronger than him now.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
The question I guess is would there even be a Freeza-race U6 fighter in the roaster if it wasn't for F movie? seems rather clear U6 stuff was written by Toriyama after he concieved general idea for F movie. If it wasn't for that, the idea to have Freeza-race take part in the tournament may not have even pop in his headekrolo2 wrote: This new fighter probably has a whole history to him so a member of Freeza's race who's God tier would work a lot better than screwing over Freeza's entire paranoia over, replacing it with him lazy to make those two push-ups that would make him SPC tier and making the Super Saiyan Legend a total none issue. Then there's the four month thing but regardless, F didn't need to exist and this new guy cements that further.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
That's a good question. The manga raises awareness for the anime, it's important..but at the same time, maybe its only point was to show people that new stuff would eventually come.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:So with the Champa arc starting on the 24th. Anyway, even if the manga keeps going, the anime will catch up...so Toyotaro will have to skip more and more stuff.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
And that would be bad why? Because Toriyama might *gasp* have to make a new design?! Blasphemy! I jest of course but really, if Toriyama intends to play up Goku and Vegeta facing down someone who reminds them of Freeza, wouldn't that work a LOT better if they didn't just bitch slap Freeza around like a total chump?Basaku wrote:The question I guess is would there even be a Freeza-race U6 fighter in the roaster if it wasn't for F movie? seems rather clear U6 stuff was written by Toriyama after he concieved general idea for F movie. When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

I'm all for fresh designs as well, but I'm not in general against the idea of new members of the same race appearing if they look distinct enough. More Saiyans? Sure, give me a big diva SSJ female Saiyan with a mohawk hairstyle. New Freeza-race member? Sure, but make him look at least as different as Cooler.ekrolo2 wrote: And that would be bad why? Seconded. I'm super disappointed in the not!Tarble's design and not!Freeza's as well.
On hiatus.

That's a really good point, I've always thought he meant you can only use it for 2 years, not that you can only use it for 2 years at a time.dbgtFO wrote: Mr. Popo only said the door would close behind you, if you stay for more than 2 years, not that the room wouldn't allow you in.

Honestly? I'm getting more and more used to the new character's design.
Except nipple guy. Seriously might haunt my nightmares this one.

And the new is put last, behind Majin Buu, but he is the strongest guy Beerus ever fought, so yeah it doesn't really have to mean anything.Zombie wrote:Piccolo is put after Buu.![]()

Hold on, the limit is 2 years total, before the door disappears, making it impossible to go back to Earth, unless you just bust yourself out of there like Buu and Gotenks did.sintzu wrote:That's a really good point, I've always thought he meant you can only use it for 2 years, not that you can only use it for 2 years at a time.dbgtFO wrote: Mr. Popo only said the door would close behind you, if you stay for more than 2 years, not that the room wouldn't allow you in.

The new Freeza looks amazing. I hope there is some backstory of their race.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
I find it interesting that as of late, both in the anime and the Manga, Super has given so many things that fans online have been clamouring for.
To give a few recent examples:
- Gotenks appearing during the Freeza fight.
- Freeza's reaction to young Trunks.
- An solid explanation for Gohan's vast decrease in power.
- An increased role and spotlight for ensemble characters, like Piccolo and Buu.
- Alternative Universe twists on established races. (E.G. A Saiyan, Freeza race)
I don't want to suggest something absurd like the idea that Toriyama or people at Toei actually tracking/gauging fan opinion online, as let's face it, it probably couldn't interest Toriyama less and Toei have got their heads up their asses in regard to most things outside of the domestic market. That said, I think that they're trying to least tip the hat now and again in regard to fan-service.
The simple fact is that there has been so much Dragonball fan-fiction over the years that it's hard to pretend that at least some of it hasn't permeated into the thinking of those who have a hand in the series. I mean, Toyatoro is a former fan-fiction mangaka himself - his version of AF was more or less a compendum of all of the prominent fan ideas that have been spawned online over the years. I therefore think that it is folly to pretend that we're not seeing at least some level of influence from those ideas.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Love the new characters from universe six, (except the ugly winnie the pooh) Especially the the purple guy design. As for the new universe seven character I can totally see him being a monster on the battle field, and being so fast even Beerus will have trouble watching him.
Also love that Bulma had to kiss someone in a scene (This is her fist time right to do it in something we can actually see correct?)
Also what are the fighters from universe 6 fighting for?

Lest we forget DB Multiverse..Blade wrote:I mean, Toyatoro is a former fan-fiction mangaka himself - his version of AF was more or less a compendum of all of the prominent fan ideas that have been spawned online over the years. Of course the only similarities so far are the Multiverse being a thing in both, but not to the same extent in DB proper and a Multiverse Tournament taking place on a deserted planet.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
I freaking love the creepy nipple guy! I laughed out loud for a good minute or two after realizing that this tiny creepy looking thing is what Beerus considers the strongest guy he's ever fought. While the other guys seem alright too, I can't say I'm quite fond of the Saiyan looking guy and the two new Kaioshin like guys either. The Gohan hair style kind of bugs me and I'm not fond of the fact that he seems to be a little kid. The two Kaioshin's look more like attendants and pointless gag characters that appear in a manga called Hajime no Ippo.
I remember hating Beerus' design when I first saw him too, so I'll hold off any major judgement until I see all the characters in action.

Was Beerus' design disliked by people when it was revealed? I pretty much liked him and Whis since the first time I watched the movie.

I realized this is just like a Xenoverse/ DBH tournament. Freeza race, Saiyan race, Namekian race, Majin race, Android race, and 3 new alien races. If the Kai's were competing it would be even more like DBH. I really hope the next Xenoverse game is more of an MMO like Dragon Ball Online, just with fighting controls. There's so much more content they could use now.
