Very nice. Too bad they couldn't/wouldn't license those images.

Which is a shame, those R2 covers are beautiful.

Keep that image saved at a high quality, cause when I buy this boxset, I want to print out and tape this over the box.
Dragon Ball ended in 1997.

That's actually the biggest I can make that image without distorting the R2 artwork.
I still have the layout saved, I would just need a high-res version of the R2 cover of that volume.
I plan on making some sort of custom thinpak covers for the series though.

Hmmm... but FUNi was able to use the R2 covers for Tenchi OVA part 3 and Fullmetal Alchemist.
They obviously have the money but it falls into FUNi's "we just don't want to" policy.

Damn you, FUNi! Why can't you just pay Toei a bucketload in royalties to get those images for the fans!
... I would pay even more for that shit if it had covers like the Dragon Box rereleases.

Well, the covers of the Ultimate Uncuts looked pretty nice, IMHO. Why didn't they make something like that?
I mean, heck, their GT covers were pretty good compared to this.
I don't mind so much, but it's a little disheartening to know they can do better.

Holy crap. With one fell swoop, you've managed to outdo 7 years worth of Dragon Ball covers here in the US.
Seriously though, maybe they weren't able to use the R2 art for some reason and are only allowed/able to use their own means (screencaps, photoshop), or the art Toei did for them for the UUE DVDs. That Vegeta pic was on one the UUE covers (the back) as well as the menu. (Vol. 7: Return from the Dead)
Oh well, the cover could be stark white printer paper with all of the text typed out in Times New Roman and no images, and I would still buy this set. Especially for the price CD Universe is offering it for...

I'm sure 50% of the DBZ fanbase could make something thrice as good...
That reminds me when Daizex.com has a contest to see who could make better DVD cover art then FUNimation for DBGT. Mine has Jesus and Goku as stick figures and everything was spelled wrong on purpose. Good times, good times...

Tanooki, you never cease to amaze me. Your captions are the best I've ever seen.
There is one thing that concerns me on this whole "Remastered in High-Def" garbage.
This box-set is being released on DVD, right? How can you get a DVD player to run in high-definition? Without a Blu-ray or HD-DVD player, I don't think you can do that. Even then, your player is only upscaling your DVDs to HD. I'm pretty confused on the issue, it would be nice for some help here.

@Sasuke_Chidori; Funimation is only having their footage remastered in HD, they didn't actually say that their DVD's were going to be HD. Some people are interpreting this decision as Funimation keeping their options open for a Blue-Ray or HD-DVD release much later on.
